A Beautiful Suicide in Second Life – what a title! When I saw this title in Inara Pey’s “Living in a modemworld“-blog it caught my attention immediately. What’s that? Well reading Inara’s blog gave me already some hints. First of all, it is a sim that was also featured in the destination guide of Second Life. Beautiful Suicide is region designed by Jaidens Rancid (Jaidens). According to the landmark description these tag fit all to Beautiful Suicide: “Photography, bloggers, Suicide, Carnival, haunted, hangout, amuesment park, beach, aliens, cannibal, lighthouse, games, boating, volcano, RLV, sex, waterfalls, art, beautiful suicide, creepy, surreal, swimming, purgatory, romance, photos, popular, nature”.
You arrive at a bridge, it is foggy but in no way scary, it is peaceful, there are many fairy lights on the trees. I began to explore, once again I was all on my own, well I was at least the only one alive. The first dead body I saw was a doll that seemed to accuse me about what might have happened here.
And when you look around, there’s nearly nothing alive here, but many evidents that life was here. On every antenna mast of the only obviously still occupied appartment building, there’s a dead body. The apprtment house itself is not accessible. I ran into the fence once and was ejected and had to start my visit again. So be careful and don’t run into the privacy fence.
The central place, close to the appartment house has a swimming pool, a burning campfire and a dense mystic atmosphere. And there is a landing point of a flying saucer. I stepped into the UFO and flew with it to get a general idea. That was fun in addition.
To sum it up, Beautiful Suicide is scary, haunted, surreal, enigmatic, everything is dead or broken just like after a severe attack, but nonetheless it is tempting to explore. It is for sure a sim to visit during the Halloween Season (hopefully it is still around in October). And it provides everything of what is mentioned in the landmark description. I spent some time at the destroyed amusement park where I found the only human alive sitting there alone, smoking and reading a book. Just as if he hadn’t noticed what happened to the world around him.
I can recommend a visit if you’re curios. Inara’s description is again very detailed and complete. Thank you for discovering and writing, Inara!
