Events in Second Life 2021 (1) Icons of Fashion – Upcoming May 30th

I got a request from my friend Nathalie Monday to write a bit about an upcoming event, the “Icons of Fashion” show. Nathalie promotes the show that is produced by Fortunate Szondi.

When: Sunday, May 30th, at 9 AM SLT (5 PM GMT)

The event is a classic fashion show were the designers walk on a catwalk and present their fashin and themselve. It’s about the clothed not the clothes. Which means it’s about the models themselves and the fashion they love.

Nathalie provided a quite long list of the participants. To my shame I had to admit to Nathalie, that I didn’t know any of these designers. But that is only due to my lack of knowledge. For example there’s one of the oldest jewelers in Second Life, there are renowned models, there are designers who already celebrted 15th anniversary as SL designer. And visiting the fashion show you will for sure learn more about fashion and who’s behind the designs. There shall be 3 walks: one formal, one casual and one dealers choice. It sounds to be exciting!

Art in Second Life 2021 (48) La Maison d’Aneli June 2021

On Wednesday, May 26th, a new joined exhibition opened at La Maison d’Aneli. It features the art of Adwehe, DAK Amat, Eylinea, Fly Kugin (flyqueeen), NewFantasy, Senka Beck and Vita Theas. I came across some of the artists before, others were new for me.

NewFantasy paints colourful abstract pictures in in various formats using acryl, ink and markers. She joined SL in 2014, inspired by her friend who she met in Second Life and who insisted that she exhibits in SL. In her skybox at La Maison d’Aneli she showcases about 10 pictures, sorted by theme. You can easily imagine what an eye catcher these picture are in RL.

Vita Thea’s skybox at La Maison d’Aneli showcases many pictures in a broad variety from portraits in black and white to colourful pictures of landscapes, from atmospheric black and white scenes to surreal scenes, from more fantasy pictures to erotic art. Vita can’t be defined by one style.
Vita is in Second life since 2007, she has varied experiences as a maker of clothes and a builder within Second Life. And she spends much time taking pictures for her creations and art projects. Vita has a flickr account as well as an own little gallery “Vita’s camera“.

Senka Beck is another SL veteran with far over 14 years. She sees SL as her playground where she enjoys interacting with peeps and prims, where she captures and releases her inner being.
The work presented at La Maison d’Aneli is titled Alexithtymia. Alexithtymia is the absence of feelings. “The signals are fuzzed the world is black and gray, dimmed. And I sit with it.” When I visited Senka was still setting up her installation and was sitting admist of it. You can grab a seat and sit yourself. Don’t forget to turn sound on: “Every dark has its light – but about that some other time.” There’s also a teleporter that brings you to a second floor.

Dak Amat’s installation at La Maison d’Aneli is a big house of cards, several stories high. Each card is a picture, and there are many of them! The themes vary over the floors. While the motifs on the first floor are very colourful, mostly comic-like drawings, you find portraits (also more like in a comic strip) on the 2nd floor and more serious drawings of mostly older people on the 3rd floor. On the top of the house of cards is an ampule of BioNTech’s Covid 19 vaccine and a speech bubble “Covid Demission”. In the center of it all is a spinning silver spiral. Inside is a teleporter that you can use to to switch between the different floors. The spinning spiral adds some nice effects, in particular when you stand inside of it. The installation is best discovered flying as there is so much to discover!
I couldn’t find out much about Dak Amat. Dak is in SL for more than 14 years and has an own artist studio together with Sof Yify called “Dekape Virtual Land“.

Eylinea is with 3 years still comparably new to Second life. I saw her art before at La Maison d’Aneli and at VeGeTaL PLaNeT Gallery. She’s exploring the possibilities and trying out new things. Her room in the current exhibtion at La Maison d’Aneli is dominated by a central 3D object that spins and changes permanently. It’s quite intriguing to watch it. The walls are covered with pictures of a ballet dancer.
Eylinea writes about herself in the accompanying notecard: “Photographer, cube juggler, light dresser, tattoo artist apprentice, designer, designer of cardboard furniture and lights, jewellery maker…. dreamer at her own time! To sum it up: creator of lots of things, curious about everything. That’s how I could qualify my sl… and my rl!”

Adwehe is also quite new to Second Life, just 2,5 years. And like Eylinea, I saw her art before at La Maison d’Aneli and at VeGeTaL PLaNeT Gallery.
Adwehe writes about her current skybox: “I have always fantasized really walking inside my drawings, like in a dream. SL is the perfect platform to realize this dream. In this work i explore an ever changing drawing using lines, light and darkness, and many shades. Creating depth and perspective expanding the dimensions of the exposition room. There are very little colors but some appear dependent on the random choices the script makes. I used textures made up of small parts of charcoal drawings. The charcoal gives a certain warmth against the harder lines. Depending on your viewpoint and the presented state of the room many drawings can appear. You might have to walk/cam around and wait a bit because of the random nature of this. Thoughts about the meaning of this work spin in my head around the topics of information overload and emergence of information actually creating reality itself.”
In Adwehe’s skybox walls, the floors and the objects are constantly changing. Yet you can also influence how they change by walking over pads spread over the floor. But you shouldn’t expect that you can reproduce any setting. One ot the facinating issues with virtual art is that it is temporary, nothing remains. The installation extends over 4 levels, huge poles reach from the ground to the top floor. You can travel between the floors with teleporters. The main installation is nonetheless on the ground floor. But the view from the higher levels down to the the lower levels is intriguing, in particular when other people change the setting by walking over the pads or clicking them.

Fly Kugin (flyqueeen), as a live violin performer, is streaming into Second Life from Istanbul, since September 2019. She’s performing improvisation, Jazz & Rock genres, musicals & soundtracls from different time periods from various artists. But Fly also likes to spend her time taking pictures of landscapes and playing with them on photoshop. She is still learning different techniques. Fly started sketch drawing in March 2021. She acquired this passion in RL and it allows her to escape from the stress of everday life and main profession, music.
In her skybox at La Maison d’Aneli Fly showcases 9 pictures arranged in a half circle admist a forest glade. Each picture is placed on a seperate easel. The setting is romantic, with the stars and glowing particles it has a touch of peace and of fantasy. Fly named her exhibition “Mirrors of the earth” and added her thoughts about it written in the background of her pictures: “The earth is our home, our heart is as much as the earth. The only island we have in the ocean of stars. Get rid of hate fron your heart. Because the earth is a place to live in peace”

La Maison d’Aneli is owned by Aneli Abeyante. Through her gallery she brings together all forms of creativity in RL and SL and the featured artists come from around the globe. Aneli’s intention is to “put her gallery in the service of artists, so that the world can be better, exchanges and meetings probably contribute even though it seems to be particles.”
Thank you for another great joined exhibtion, Aneli. As always I enjoyed my visit and writing about it. It always inspires me.

Thursday, May 13th, Mistress was busy first when I went inworld in the afternoon. Flo was present and of course playing skipee. I went seeing Flo and to my surprise Mistress showed up there as well. We played a skipee with Flo and caught up with our mutual news while playing. Angelique joined us and watched Mistress Jenny winning the game easily. Flo had to leave to her RL after the game, Mistress Jenny, Angelique and I went to Carnal Intentions for about half an hour. There was not much going on there. We had a random sub kneeling by us, she had asked for it. It’s always nice being decorated, isn’t it.

Mistress had to return to what she was doing before and I intended to see slave Holly, who was at home in her cell awaiting the timer to run down. But slave Holly went off before I could open the cell. Hence I logged off and tended to my RL.

At night Mistress Jenny and I was alon first and went to Puerto Esclava and then to Heavy Bondage Club oerving profiles while we talked. When Flo and slave Holly had logged in we moved to Carnal Intentions and summoned them to us. Angelique follwed soon after. We spent the night there and even initiated some main chat.

After Flo and Angelique had left us for bed, Mistress Jenny and I went home and said good night to slave Holly and retreated to your skybox. We enjoyed some intimate togetherness ….

May13th: Mistress Jenny and Diomita at home

Friday, May14th, I met Mistress Jenny twice during the day. In the morning we both had not much time. slave Holly was cleaning the house and I saw her shortly – and made her slave life a bit harder by restricting her view and gagging her. She should know the dirty spots well enough by know to find them even half blind (actually she wear a blindfold and the Anavision HUD now set to “Hawk hood”, a setting resembling a view peeking through a slit in the lower part of the blindfold).
Mistress Jenny had an idea for our party at night and we talked about it when we met in the afternoon again:
“Yay, it’s Friday again. Tonight is T-shirt night. Wear one with a logo that is fun or something you like and enjoy Dress Down Friday – or come as you are. DJ Virgo is spinning the tunes.”
Mistress and I browsed through the marketplace and selected T-shirts for ourselves, Angelique and for Flo. Mistress got one with the imprint “Girls just Wanna Have Fun”, Angelique got one with “Yes. I’m a fucking princess”, Flo got “I’m not short, I’m fun size” and I got “Innocent” for myself. Mistress had to leave after we had changed for the night. I saw Flo, unlocked her and gave her the T-Shirt, then I went visiting a gallery, but the exhibition I wanted to see was not yet open. Hence I logged off.

Art in Second Life 2021 (47) Kinds of Minimal by Melusina Parkin

On Monday, May 16th, a new exhibtion of Melusina Parkin has been opened at Desideratum gallery. The exhibtion consists of almost 30 pictures of Melusina Parkin.

The titel of the exhibition “Kinds of Minimal” is very fitting. Her photos tend towards minimalism, which is Melu’s main inclination: simple details from daily life or usual landscapes are the subject of mostly empty scenes, stressing voids, space, geometries, lights; this reveals hidden meanings or pushes the observer to give them her/his own one. Her favorite subjects are wide landscapes, city views, industrial environments, popular lifestyles and daily objects.

It was my first visit to Desideratum Gallery, a “place of exhibitions and entertainment where the desire to have fun contemplating the art and the wonderful people of SL meet.” As far as I could find out the Desideratum Gallery is owned by Péru (Peru Venom).
It is a quite large 2-story bilding with a lot of natural light flooding in through the large class facacde. Melusina’s exhibition extends over both floors.

Impressions of “Kinds of Minimal” by Melusina Parkin (1)

There’s not much I could add about Melusina’s photo art. Maybe that I think it is amazing that you get this effect just by reducing the complexity, making the spectator focus on just a few, or even just one object, forcing the spectator to look at every single detail, even if there’s none. In addition it increases the value of the few and single objects.
Melusina’s art is a clear contrast to other styles with many layers and endless details.

Melusina is in Second Life since September 2008. She has been a fashion manager, a journalist, a furniture creator, a builder, a decorator and a photographer. Her work as a photographer has been showcased in more than 50 exhibitions – from which I saw just three. Melusina has a flickr account which counts more than 13,000 (!) photographs. Extensive collections of her photos can be seen also on her blog Virtual Exhibits and on some slideshows on Youtube (links under this post). Melusina has several galleries of her own (links also under this post).

On the ground floor you also find a table with books. Those who are regular visitors to Melusina’s exhibitions know these books already:
Melusina All-in-One Exhibits allow you to keep at home the whole exhibit you visited and loved. It’s an alternative kind of the exhibit catalogue: you can hang the object on your home’s walls and enjoy the changing images.
They come in four versions, that you can choose according to your home style: plain or framed, changing image by touch or in random loop. The objects are set as modifiable, so you can adapt them to your walls.
Last but not least you find a notecard with Melusina’s biography by clicking the picture of her above the table with the book.

Diary 2021 (62) May 10th – 12th A bit of everything

Monday, May 10th, Mistress wasn’t around during the day. I was inworld in the later morning and visited another new gallery. In the afternoon I met with slave Holly. I used tthe time alone with her to have me way and to get serviced by her – or more precisely by her tongue. After this treat for her (and me) I took her to Psi’s realm, we talked a bit and then I went to a shop with her looking for alternative chastity belts.

May 10th: Diomita and slave Holly at home and at Psi’s realm

My night began with an one hour continuation of my blackmail roleplay. When Mistress Jenny came inworld, Angelique, Flo and slave Holly were present as well. After we had caught up with our mutual news, we went seeing them and had a skipee together first. Then we spent the night at Carnal Inteeentions. I can’t really say if there was much going on as I was talking with Mistress most of the time and also with Angelique, Flo and slave Holly. After FLo had left Faye and Annie joined us. Faye’s ultra daring short skirt initiated some main chat finally, but it was already late and we had to leave.

May 10th: Mistress Jenny and Diomita at Carnal Intentions with Angelique, Flo, slave Holly, Faye and Ann

Tuesday, May 11th, I met with Mistress in the afternoon. We stayed at home most of the time and just talked. Finally we went to Carnal Intentions just for a few minutes, then Mistress and I had to tend to our RL again. I didn’t take any picture but there’re already a lot of these in this blog, hence you may picture it *winks*

My night was relaxed. Mistress was not inworld due to her RL. I myself ran late as I was busy in RL. Flo was at home and had already played 5 games of skipee alone – surprise, she won them all. I went to Psi’s realm with her and we watched people for a bit and talked. I had some issues with my body as my breasts were strangely deformed. I’ve had this issue before and I don’t know what causes it. Mostly changing my shape back and forth cures it. If you look at the picture of Flo and me at Psi’s realm, you might notice it.

May 11th: Diomita with Flo, Faye and slave Holly at Psi’s realm and at Carnal Intentions

When slave Holly came inworld we returned home and the three of us played a skipee. After the game I went to Carnal Intentions with Flo and slave Holly. And after Flo left for bed, Faye joined us. I had a relaxed night.

Wednesday, May 12th, I had some time together with Mistress in the afternoon again. We went to club Domme a Domme and talked there. Mistress was in a quite dominatn mood, as she was already the days before and it was very obvious that she enjoyed it a lot. She began to take me another step deeper into my submission to her. We stayed and talked for an hour, then we returned home as Mistress and I had to tend to our RL again.

May 12th: Mistress Jenny and Diomita at club Domme a Domme and at home

At night I was alone first and had a quick hop over the clubs, then I played a skipee alone, but soon Angelique and Flo showed up and we had a game together. Mistress was not inworld that night. We went to Psi’s realm. It was really full and busy there, yet not much main chat was going on. I played a bit with Flo’s RF asylum suit and isolated her in her own world *winks*. When slave slave Holly came inworld, I picked her up at home and took her to Psi’s as well. I had a relaxed night talking with Angelique, slave Holly and Flo, playing around with the their restrictions.

After Flo and Angelique had left for bed, I returned home with slave Holly as I need to pee. I took her to the naughty girls room. I used the Anavision HUD to retrict slave Holly’s view in a way that she could peek under the blindfold…. pictures do tell more than words…

Art in Second Life 2021 (47) Genesis by Moki Yuitza

I visited “Genesis” by Moki Yuitza, an exhibition that opened May 8th at DixMix Gallery in room “Amona”.

Genesis consists of 10 pictures in which you follow the genesis of a female being that slowly breaks through all walls and barriers until she shows in kind of a victory pose. Each picture is highlighted with a glowinf white frame that increases the expression of each pictures.

Moki Yuitza is in Second Life for over 12 years. I came across her twice lately seeing quite different art from her. I saw Geomorphism at DixMix Gallery in December 2020 (read here) and CELLS at The Sim Quuarterly in March 2021 (read here)
I found this about Moki from a notecard for La Maison d’Aneli: “In RL I am an architect and in this metaverse I found the possibility to realize my idea of ​​space and my architectural fantasy, as well as to share it with other people.”
Moki has also a flickr account and an own website.

As exhibtions stay open 4 to 5 weeks at DixMix Gallery, “Genesis” by Moki Yuitza should be open for the public until June 4th or June 11th.

Diary 2021 (61) May 7th – 9th Mistress Jenny in jeans

I had a lazy Friday with quite some time in Second Life. In the later morning I logged in the first time and went on a longer simploring tour. Mistress Jenny was inworld as well, yet busy with her adventure. slave Holly also logged in, we just talked a bit in IM. After my longer simploring tour I wrote the report about it. That took quite some time.
I returned in the later afternoon, but really nothing was going on. And Mistress had told me that she might not be able to come inworld. I had a few invitations on stock and decided to visited a gallery – and wrote another blogpost. For the blog it was a productive day.

May 7th: Diomita simploring

Mistress and I had talked about the theme for our Friday night party the day before, Mistress decided to have something rare for us: “It’s Friday and the weekend is here. We declare it a casual Friday tonight so pull on your blue jeans or your favourite piece of denim, or come as you are. DJ Virgo is spinning the tunes” – variation is key!
We had another fun night with great music.

Saturday, May 8th, I met with Mistress Jenny in the afternoon. Angelique was at home too, Hence, after we had caught up, we went seeing her. She had got a lot of demos and gave us a fashion show of about an hour until Mistress Jenny had to lwave for her RL.
At night we played a skipee as teams with Angelique anf Flo. Angelique had got an update for the greedy and the skipee table. Well, sometimes updates are not really a progress in our opinion.
After our game we went to Psi’s realm and later to Carnalt Intentions with Flo and Angelique. It was a relaxed night and we talked just amoung us.

May 8th: Mistress Jenny and Diomita with Angelique and Flo at home, at Psi’s realm and at Carnal Intentions

Sunday, May 9th, Mistress Jenny wasn’t inworld during the day due to her RL. I just made a visit to a gallery and worked on this month’s enjoying bondage series picture, but wasn’t inworld that much. Instead I enjoyed the sun in RL.
At night I first played a skipee with Flo. slave Holly came inworld and after we had finished the game, I took Flo and slave Holly to Carnal Intentions. Flo wears the RF Asylum suit now … time to play around with it a bit. We had just arrived when Mistress Jenny came inworld, hence we returned home. we had another round of skipee – Mistress Jenny, Angelique, Flo, slave Holly and I.

We spent the night at Psi’s realm and I played with Flo’s restraints, talked with slave Holly, Angelique and Mistress Jenny. Time flew by quickly again.
Mistress was wearing her Jeans outfit the whole weekend – therefor the title of this diary post.

Diary 2021 (60) May 5th/6th Maurer’s property

Wednesday, May 5th, I met Mistress Jenny quickly in the morning. She was busy, hence I took Kitty, who was with her, with me to Psi’s realm, where I just chatted with her (no picture, as I forgot to take one). In the afternoon I met Mistress again and we quickly caught up with our mutual news. Then we went seeing slave Holly. Unfortunately Mistress had to leave again soon after.

I stayed with slave Holly and added some rules for her and gave her some instructions (no details here). Sometimes it is like that … slave Holly had to leave for her RL, slave Flo came inworld. We got visitors on our sim just seconds later: Rihanna (evelineD) and her sub Kim (Kim2007 Beaumont). We had met them the night before at Psi’s realm and I had a nice chat with Rihanna there. I went seeing Rihanna and Kim and gavem them a tour over the island – and Flo played a round of skipee against herself (she won it – surprise). As I wrote – sometimes it weired: Rihanna had to leave when we were just at our house and left Kim, slave Holly returned, Flo left. And for me it was also time to tend to my RL again. Hence I left slave Holly and Kim. As the two had chatted the night before, they might have had some fun being together….
And once again, I forgot taking pictures, hence there’s just one from that afternoon.

At night we played a skipee with Flo. slave Holly and also Kim were present when we finished our game. Mistress and I went to Carnal Intentions with Flo, Kim and slave Holly – and Elena (Elenaslv Sereniy) joined us there. I wanted to play with slave Holly’s vision and blindfolded her. Unfortunately her blindfold was outdated and didn’t use RLV spheres. Hence I took slave Holly to Dark Wishes for an update. It turned out that the update there didn’t work, so we did the update at Pak, then we returned to Carnal Intentions. Again the blindfold did not work as intended as the hidden background was all white for slave Holly. I had quite some chats and time flew by quickly and Flo went off to bed. We followed soon after. But before we retreated to our skybox, slave Holly edited her blindfold so that the background is black now. And we tested it – it is really a great tool to keep someone fully focused.

May 5th: Diomita at home with slave Holly and Kim (Kim2007 Beaumont) / Mistress Jenny and Diomita at Carnal Intentions with Flo, slave Holly, Kim (Kim2007 Beaumont) and Elena / slave Holly’s restricted view

Mistress and I met Thursday afternoon, May 6th, again. After we had filled in each other about our news, we picked up slave Holly at home and took her to Psi’s realm with us. slave Holly succeeded in adding the hairbase that we bought two days before. It looks great and makes our slave outstanding and recognizable. At Psi’s realm we just talked amoung us and I played with slave Holly’s blindfold – and she sent some nice snapshots.

After Mistress had left, I checked slave Holly’s rules and made some minor changes. Mistress Jenny had mentioned that she wants to mark slave Holly at night. We prepared that somehow final step for her (by testing the tattoo *winks*). After this more technical issue I rewarded slave Holly and allowed her to lick me – and I enjoyed it. Finally I decided which cage to assign to slave Holly and enacted another rule – to log off and in in her cage.
It was a varied full afternoon.

May 6th: Mistress Jenny and Diomita with slave Holly at Psi’s realm and at home

When Mistress and I returned at night, none of our family was yet present. I told Mistress that slave Holly licked me before and Mistress spontaneouly decided to take the opportunity to get licked and to provide her poison to me. Thank you Mistress. We went to Puerto Esclava afterwards and the moment we arrived slave Holly anf Flo showed up, hence we returned home. We played a skipee with the slaves – and the game had a strange end after I won it: the table distroyed itself! It is Angelique’s game table and I contacted her. She was surprised about it but knew why. She had updated the table in the store.
We took slave Holly to our dungeon next. I fixed her at Mistress Jenny’s rack. slave Holly got her tattoos stiched by me: Maurer’s property on her back and our rose on her right breast. Mistress Jenny supervised the procedure and Flo tried to calm slave Holly. Unfortunately I was so busy that I forgot to take pictures. I just took two pictures afterwards.

May 6th: Mistress Jenny and Diomita at home / slave Holly gets tattooed at our dungeon / at Carnal Intentions with slave Holly

It was already quite late and we went to Carnal Intentions. slave Holly and Flo crashed on teleport, slave Holly even had a roll-back crash. Flo didn’t return as it was bedtime for her. We stayed about half an hour at Carnal Intentions and just talked and watched. Then we returned home and called it a night.

The BDSM Collaborative Hunt – May 15th – May 31st

Currently a BDSM Hunt is taking place in Second Life. More then 20 sims are participating in the hunt. On every sim you can collect gifts and while you search for the gifts – you explore the sims. The hunt started on May 15th and ends on May 31st – but you can visit the sims anytime even after the hunt. For me visiting is a nice variation and hopefully I find new places to stay and to have fun.
There is a website with all the landmarks and with clues where to find the gifts. I will use this website as a little directory of places to visit.

So far I saw New Libertine Shibari Court, a place with many many Shibari devices in a nice surrounding. I saw Bellaure Manor & slave storage, another BDSM sim which seems to have also a nice community. I visited Dark Discipline, which is not only a BSDM sim but even more a very well made setting with nice views. I was at the House of Odds and I visited Tempelhof. At Tempelhof you can make a scavenger hunt for one price. The setting of Tempelhof is extraordinairy and full of details and furnished houses. I had really fun with the hunt.

As I mentioned above there are many more sim participating in the BDSM Collaborative Hunt and I will visit more of them, but I wanted to publish a quick post as long as the hunt is going on. But the sims can be visited anytime. Thank you all, who initiated this event.

Art in Second Life 2021 (45) “Quelqu’un” by Catherine Nikolaidis

I visited “Quelqu’un”, an exhibtion of photographs by Catherine Nikolaidis at DixMix Gallery in room Abby.

“Quelqu’un” is French and means “somebody”. The exhibtion consists of 13 black&white photographs, photographs obviously taken in Second Life and processed with light and shadow effects into erotic art. All photographs show women in lingerie, never fully naked and always leaving enough room for the fantasies and stories of the spectator.

I saw Catherine Nikolaidis’ artful photographs when I visited “Soulportraits” at Itakos Art Gallery in March 2021 (read here). Catherine Nikolaidis was born in Greece and lives in the Netherlands. She joined Second Life in 2007 and photography is one of her passions. She writes about herself: “I believe strongly in sharing. I believe in communicating. I believe in creation and inspiration. I love black & white. I feel strongly for music.”
Catherine is a photographer, blogger & brand manager for several stores. She runs her own website and shares her work also on her flickr page.

I like Catherine’s artful photographs a lot and enjoyed my visit. Thank you Dixmix for providing and curating the DixMix Gallery, thank you Megan for building it and for contributing at it. I enjoyed my visit and seeing Catherine’s art. The exhibition “Quelqu’un” by Catherine Nikolaidis will stay open until June 4th.
