Today, Monday, October 31st, the exhibition “Africa” by Milena Carbone (mylena1992) will be opened. It is the November exhibition at the Nitroglobus Roof gallery, owned and curated by Dido Haas.
The opening party will start at 1 PM SLT (9 PM CET) with a dance performance created by Milena, where visitors can join in. DJ Fleming with provide the tunes and the particles will be contributed by Venus Adored.

“Africa” is the second part of the 5th season, a triology by Milena Carbone that deals with the causes and consequences of climate change. The first part, named “Blind” was exhibited at La Maison d’Aneli in June (read here).

Milena wrote about “Africa”:
“Africa” takes a look at the African continent, both amazed and crude.
Amazed, because Africa is a fertile paradise of biodiversity and beauty and the cradle of humanity, born in the rift, the vagina of the earth.
Crude, because Africa is a continent raped, slaughtered, poisoned, looted with impunity by empires, in cynical disdain of its inhabitants. Africa is what started it all by the grace of evolution, and will end by the rapacity of man.

“Africa” consists of 13 pictures:
The story of Grace, in seven paintings, an Ethiopian orphan who, at age 33, inherits the home of her father whom she never knew. As she explores this strange house, she more or less follows the biblical journey from creation to paradise and God’s doubt one Sunday night (“Oh my God, I think I’ve screwed up so damn bad”). In this part, Milena Carbone clears God of predestination and gives keys to understand that, if he is at the origin of the Creation, he has created the conditions of free will.
The Twilight of Humans is the story of Abel, an African man whom Grace meets in her house. In six tableaux, he travels through the destruction of the African continent, ends up being the last man in the world and makes his own burial ground in the rainforest.

As always the pictures can develop their strengths with the mirroring floor at the Nitroglobus Roof Gallery. The story of Abel is in one wing and the story of Grace in the other wing of the exhibition space. Between the pictures of Grace is a video wall playing the short film “Living Picture 4 Africa” which is also available on youtube here.

There are some 3D statues of African animals in the center of the gallery space. Once you get closer, the statues vanish and texts appear instead. As always in Milena’s exhibitions, texts and pictures build one unit. While in “Grace’s wing” the texts deal with God, the texts in “Abel’s wing” deal with the plagues that mankind has caused on earth: climate change, extinction of species and forced migration.

Milena mentioned in the accompanying notecard that her writing style for the texts featured at the exhibition “Africa” is “more syncopated than usual, cutting the story with several levels of interpretation with inserts of scientific facts, memories or questionings of herself. I readily admit to having been amazed and inspired by the American author Jenny Offill.“

For the pictures Milena continued further expanding and broadening her style. She used the AI Midjourney again to create the backgrounds of her pictures. Milena had an exhibition of pictures created with Artifical Intelligence just recently: “Metamorphoses” (read here). The characters were added from Second Life.

Milena Carbone (mylena1992) is a French artist and is in Second Life since mid 2019. She discovered its artistic potential and since then has devoted all her free time to creation, associating, as in real life, images and texts: “Milena Carbone is a fiction in which, as in any artistic work, biographical and imaginary elements are mixed.” Her creative process is iterative: some of her images inspire her stories and these stories modify the development of the image, which itself transforms the story.
Milena has an own gallery, the Carbone Studio and she has a bookstore @ Noir’Wen City.

Diary 2022 (137) October 26th – 28th Early Halloween party

Wednesday, Ocotber 26th, Flo and I played again a longer round of skipee, that I won by one card. When we had finished slave Holly and slave Alessi came inworld and we played another round as teams – Flo and slave Holly against slave Alessi and me.
After the game Flo left for bed and I took slave Holly and slave Alesse to Carnal Intentions. Aya (ayahnah) joined us again. She had bought the AnAVision HUD. We stayed a while at Carnal, then we returned home as slave Holly had to leave for bed early. I helped Aya to make the necessary adjustments in the setting of the AaVision HUD, then we went to club DeLust for a while. I had fun demonstrating the power of the AnAVision HUD to Aya.

Thursday, October 27th, I played one round of skipee with Flo and one round with Flo and slave Holly. Flo left us after the games, slave Alessi and slave Aya (ayahnah) joined us. I took the slaves to Carnal Intentions for the rest of the night. We chatted amoung us and I had fun teasing the slaves and restrictig them. Vani (Vanilla Meili) joined the hogtied slaves for a few minutes. It was a short but enjoyable night.

October 27th: Diomita at Carnal Intentions with slave Holly, slave Alessi and slave Aya

I also sent out a “save the date” group message for the Halloween party the next day:
“Tomorrow will be Friday and Halloween is coming. We will celebrate our Halloween party this Friday. Of course you can come as you are (even naked) – but we will have a contest for the best Halloween outfit. Some Lindens are in stock for the best outfit. DJ Virgo will spin the tunes for us.
Save the date: Tomorrow 1 PM SLT / 10 PM CET“

The Halloween party on Friday, October 28th, was great fun once again. Jenny would have loved it! We could admire some great outfits and the contest was another highlight. Baroness Capelo won it – congratulations! I missed taking pictures of Aya (Ayahnah) and of slave Holly – sorry.

Art in Second Life 2022 (87) Bamboo Barnes: Personal Aspect

Bamboo Barnes is going to open a new exhibition, Personal Aspect at the Akipelago, at Akiniwa. Akiniwa is owned by Akiko Kinoshi (a.kiko).
The exhibition is a restrospective with pictures and small picture installations of Bamboo Barnes, featuring her artwork of almost 10 years.

The exhibition is huge. Bamboo’s pictures are shown at 4 large exhibition buildings. In 3 of 4 corners between the buildings Bamboo made small 3D installations with her pictures. The 4th corner will present 3D art by Kerupa Flow and was not yet built at the time of my visit.
The center square will be used for the opening event today, Friday, October 28th, 12 PM SLT. At the opening even Carelyna will provide the music.

When I think of Bamboo Barnes, I immediately think of colours, of colourful pictures, of a feast of colours. All exhibitions that I saw from her were colourful – and of course a retrospective exhibition must consist of colourful pictures too.

The amount of pictures is overwhelming. I estimate that Bambo selected about 100 pictures from her pool of artwork. The three 3D picture installations int he corner were new for me. Bamboo arrange her pictures together with 3D objects, giving the pictures a new environment instead of displaying them at walls. Some of her pictures in these corner installations change permanently. I suspect that these installations look even better with an environment set to midnight. Unfortunately I forgot to change my environment and used “Midday” for my pictures.

In front of one of the exhibition buildings you can grab a free chair, designed with Bamboo’s art.

Bamboo is in Second Life for over 15 years already, painting software & photoshop are her best friends. Bamboo had many exhibtions and appearances in the Second Life art scene and in 2018 she had her first exhibition in real life: “I create what I see but maybe you won’t, they are about people’s reality and  mind.”
Bamboo’s art is a mixture of abstract forms, of people and photographs. Most pictures are colourful and it is in the eye of the beholder what we see in her pictures.
I myself saw her work the first time at La Maison d’Aneli during the Holiday season 2019/2020 (read here). I also saw her exhibition “Marginal Mannerism” at DixMixGallery in April 2021 (read here), the exhibition “Meant to be” at Itakos Art Gallery last year (read here), I saw “Conjure” at FOCUS Magazine F.A.I.R Gallery in August 2021 (read here), “Mindstorm” at IMAGO Land (read here) and “Drawer” at Hannington Arts Foundation (read here). Last December I saw her exhibition “The path” at Art care gallery (read here) and this year “Metaphysics” at the Kondar Art Center, (read here), Colores Primarios (read here) and New Day (read here) – wow, quite a list in the meanwhile!

I visited again shortly before the opening so have a look at the 4th corner with the 3D art of Kerupa Flow. Kerupa wrote about it: “Without collaboration with you, my work is invisible. How you interact with the piece, what it makes you tink; the feelings it invokes is what uncovers it’s soul. Take your time, immerse yourself in the display: be aware.”
You can walk into one of the installation: heads, geometric objects, squares, texts … and everything changes permanently. Now it is at the visitor which feelings the installation seeds.

Kerupa Flow is a 2D&3D artist from Japan and in Second Life since 2007: “After all, there live the same person both SL and outside SL, so even if the tools changed, you can have the same scent.“.

Sunday, October 23rd, I played skipee with Flo, slave Holly and slave Alessi as teams. Afterwards we went to Carnal Intentions for a while. After Flo had left I returned home with slave Holly and slave Alessi and allowed Alessi to lick me. It has been a while that I got spoiled in SL and it was nice and satisfying.
We went to Psi’s realm to chill, then it was time for bed.

October 23rd: Diomita at Carnal Intentions, at home and at club DeLust with Flo, slave Holly and slave Alessi

Monday, October 24th, would have been my 14th wedding anniversary with Jenny. Of course me thoughts went back to the great time we had together. In the meanwhile I don’t cry anymore but look back in thankfulness. I know Jenny is watching me and sometimes she even talks with me – or I think I could hear her talking. Thank you for all the years together, Jenny, my love.
First thing I did when I came in-world at night was rezzing the contest board for the Halloween party on Friday, October 24th. I also took some heavy prim objects back into my inventory to make room for some Halloween decoration. Della Randt had agreed to provide the decoaration for the party. While I was cleaning up the sim, Flo came inworld and played skipee. I joined her when I had finished and we played one round. Della came and began to decorate and slave Holly come inworld as well and watched us playing before we had a game with three. After the games we went lookig what della had decorated. Very nice and almost perfect!
We went to club DeLust where slave Alessi joined us and spent the rest of the night there.

Tuesday, October 25th, I was alone when I came inworld. Time to go shopping. I got a new coat at Avec Toi, a piece of clothes that I saw just recently at a club and was eager getting it. I was just finished with sorting it into my wardrobe when Flo came online. We caught up with our mutual news, then we played on round of skipee. It was a long game as Flo and I blocked eachother very effectively.
After the game I took Flo to club DeLust. slave Holly was came inworld late, just when Flo was about to go to bed. I stayed at club DeLust with slave Holly. Aya (ayahnah), who had approached me a few weeks before and recently at our Friday night party, joined us there until it was time to go to bed.

I was still quite occupied with my RL obligations from Tuesday, October 18th, to Saturday, October 22nd. I had no time to go inworld during the day and was just online at night. I played skipee with Flo, slave Holly and slave Alessi at night and took them to a club until bedtime after playing. Tuesday, October 18th, I was at Carnal Intentions with Flo and slave Holly, Wednesday with Flo at club DeLust and Thursday with slave Holly and slave Alessi at club DeLust.

Friday, October 21st, we had our Friday night party. I had discussed with slave Holly, who couldn’t attend the party herself, about the possible return of Boris as Prime Minister of the UK and that led to the theme:
“It’s Friday and we celebrate the start into the weekend. In the UK a Prime Minister might be recycled, hence dive deep into your wardrobe and recycle an old outfit for our party – or come as you are (even naked). DJ Virgo is spinning the tunes for us.”

Saturday night, October 22nd, I played a skipee with Flo an a teams game with Flo against slave Holly and slave Alessi. The slaves won it by one card. we went to Carnal Intentions and to club DeLust afterwards but I couldn’t stay much longer than Flotime as I was too tired.

I was inworld for a few minutes Saturday morning. Kitty was inworld and as she didn’t send an IM to me I looked where she was – Lock Without Asking (LWA). The room at LWA was full and Kitty was suspended from the ceiling and thightly gagged. She must have had fun. We had a short – one sided chat, as Kitty couldn’t answer really. In main chat she talked and talked and talked but couldn’t be understood, hence I translated for the other people in the room “Kitty loves the view and is thankful” *winks*. I left again with a smile in my face and tended to my RL.

October 15th: Diomita at Lock Without Asking visiting Kitty (suspended from the ceiling)

At night I was alone first und spent some time at club DeLust. slave Alessi joined me there later. To my surprise Kitty came inworld again and I took slave Alessi with me to visit her again at LWA. I teased Kitty a bit, then I opened her IM and she told me that she was the victim of a “Lock and Leave” for over a week already. Hence I was generous and helped her to get down from the ceiling. Kitty was still in her September outfit and I took the opportunity to get her in her October outfit. For her I selected “pink”. Time had flown by and it was time for bed already.

October 15th: Diomita at club DeLust and at LWA with slave Alessi and Kitty

Sunday, October 16th, I was inworld several times during the day, yet nothing to report about happened. I also took advantage of the lovely Autumn weather in RL and had a nice day.
My night in SL began with a skipee with Flo and slave Holly and later a teams play with slave Holly, slave Alessi and Flo. It was already late when we finished and Flo and slave Holly went off to bed. I took slave Alessi to club DeLust for a while before it was time for my bed too.

Monday, October 17th, I was again inworld a few times during the day, yet only shortly. I saw a nice bondage bag at Lochme and decided to get it to have some fun with slave Holly later that day.
My night started with a few rounds of skipee with Flo and when slave Holly came inworld we had one round with three people. After the game I took Flo and slave Holly to Carnal Intentions.

October 16th/17th: Diomita at club DeLust and at Carnal Intentions with slave Alessi, Flo and slave Holly

We had some fun at Carnal Intentions. Vani (Vanilla Meili) was present and she had a new hairstyle for upside down suspensions. She was literally hanging around and the hair looked great like this. I teased her a bit and made sure that she won’t get released too quickly.

October 17th: Diomita at Carnal Intentions with Flo, slave Holly and suspended Vani / Diomita with her new purse (slave Holly) at Lochme and Psi’s realm

After Flo had left for bed I took slave Holly to Lochme. I needed a place where I could rezz in order to force slave Holly into my new bag with the Immersity HUD. slave Holly became “Diomita’s purse”. That was fun and slave Holly also enjoyed her restricted view inside. We (or more I) caught quite some attention. Later I took slave Holly to Psi’s realm for a few minutes, but then it was already time for bed for us.

Diary 2022 (133) Ocotber 11th -14th Fat Bear week

I had a busy but good day on Tuesday, October 11th. I even was inworld in the later morning and visited club DeLust for half an hour (no picture). I returned at night and just played skipee with Flo and later with Flo and slave Holly. After the games, Flo went off to bed I went to Carnal Intentions with slave Holly for a few minutes before it was time for bed for slave Holly and me too.
Wednesday, October 12th, was quite the same. A busy but nice and sunny day in RL – and a lot of skipee at night. I played 3 rounds with Flo and had incredible good and fitting in all three games – sorry Flo.
After the game I took Flo to club DeLust where slave Holly joined us. I stayed there with Holly after Flo had left for bed until it was time for our bed too.

October 11th/12th: Diomita at Carnal Intentions and at club DeLust with Flo and slave Holly

Thursday, Ocotber 13th, I ran late at night. Flo had already played quite some rounds of skipee alone. slave Holly was cleaning the house. We played one round of skipee together and chatted. I had not yet fixed a theme for our Friday night party. slave Holly had told me about the “fat bear week” the day before. The fat bear week is a contest in Alaska: “Choose the fattest bear of the year! Some of the largest brown bears on Earth make their home at Brooks River in Katmai National Park, Alaska. Brown bears get fat to survive and Fat Bear Week is an annual tournament celebrating their success in preparation for winter hibernation.” You can read more about it here. After the game Flo went off to bed and I took slave Holly to Carnal Intentions. We chatted a bit. slave Holly complained that she hadn’t got a fix for quite a while. Hence, before going to bed, we returned home and slave Holly got her fix.

Friday, Ocotober 14th, I had some time inworld during the day and went simhopping. Nothing to report for the blog though. And at night we had our party. It was full that Friday – and we had fun with the “bear”-theme and with puns about bare bears. A perfect start into the weekend.

Saturday, October 8th, I used my free time during the day to visit Ambre Singh’s newest exhibition
“Mishaps – the daily life of Ambre Singh” (read here). I had fun visiting. Ambre’s humor and wit is amazing.
At night I met Angelique and slave Holly. As Angelique was not up for a skipee we went to Carnal Intentions. slave Alessi joined us there. Later, after Angelique had left for bed, I took slave Holly and slave Alessi to club DeLust. I had a relaxed night and enjoyed.

Sunday, I wasn’t inworld during the day again. I had a skipee night. First I started a game with Flo and Sarah came to us, so we stopped and played with three. After the game Sarah left and I played on round with Flo alone. slave Holly came inworld and we played a 3rd round with her. After that game it was way beyond Flotime and she left for bed ad I took slave Holly with me to club DeLust. we just continued chatting. I had a relaxed night.

Monday, I had a busy but better day. I wasn’t inowrld though during the day.
At night I was running a bit late. Flo was playing skipee and I joined her for one game. While we played slave Holly came iworld too. She waited until we were done, then we had another game with three.
I went to Carnal Intentions with Flo and slave Holly after the game and stayed there unntil Flo and later slave Holly had to leave for bed. Another relaxed night in SL.

Art in Secod Life 2022 (85) MISHAPS – The daily life of Ambre Singh

I got an invitation to see a new exhibition of Ambre Singh in the NovaOwl Sky Gallery: “Mishaps”. The invitation was similiar to that I got for “Past Masters” (read here). It was a HUD with quite some menu entries for landmarks also to her main gallery, her biography, something about the exhibition and other links, like Ambre Singh’s own webpage, her store on the marketplace and her flickr page.

Ambre wrote about “Mishaps”: “Since a good part of my SLife consists of getting into all sorts of misadventures, the theme was a natural one. Another common thread in my SL presence is a form of spiritual activism. My virtual existence might as well serve a purpose, right? It is therefore with pleasure that I invite you to discover my new exhibition, “MISHAPS, the Daily Life of Ambre Singh”, generously hosted by The NovaOwl Sky gallery.”

Knowing Ambre Singh’s art, I expected funny and witty pictures. I was not disappointed. Ambre herself was present and welcomed me with the words “Welcome to one more silly outburst of mine :)”
The gallery space is huge. On the ground floor Ambre Singh’s pictures are often extended with 3D objects fitting to the according picture. Every picture has funny and fitting title. There is a sandbank with beach pictures.

Where the heck did Ambre get these ideas, this wit and this irony? The pictures are really funny and made me smile. In some pictures Ambre picks up on current topics like covid or King Charles III. And it’s no surprise that Ambre also added some explicit pictures, as I did expect it. The gorund floor packed with pictures and ideas.

On the stairs to the second floor sits a man with a bouquet of flowers, but take a closer look, it is ot a bouquet of flowers, it is a bouquet of coloured dildos *winks*. The pictures on the second floor are also witful, but most are with a serious background. At the entrance of the second floor Ambre added a text:
“A good way to get into trouble is to show your political views.I personally feel that seriousness is suffocating the planet and making people amorphous. We need joy, disobedience, courage and love. So here is my little contribution, my call for a joyful, libertarian and libertine awakeing. The beginning is near!”

Ambre Singh is in Second Life for over 15 years. She writes about herself:
“‘It is your mind that creates this world’, said Buddha.
All you do in SL will subtlely change you and others in all worlds. So in my life and art, I thrive to add my spice, beauty and love.
I photograph people of character in beautiful places of SL or in studio. Sometimes, I create thematic images in SL, or I mix worlds… If the harvest is good, I make an exhibition.

I had fun visiting “MISHAPS – The daily life of Ambre Singh” at NovaOwl Sky Gallery. Thank you Owl (Owl Dragonash) and Uli Jansma for providing the space for Ambre Singh’s “Mishaps”. Ambre also mentioned Kika Yongho for her precious help in decorating the space.

The exhibition is open until 27 November 2022 – enjoy your visit, like I did.

Thursday, October 6th, my night started with skipee as usual. First 2 games with Flo, then one game as teams: Flo and my against slave Holly and slave Alessi. After the games Flo left for bed and I put slave Alessi into her October outfit. We went to club DeLust shortly, then our time was over already.

Friday, October 7th, I could slow down and I visited the exhibition “Noir by Joanna Kitten” at Nitroglobus Roof Gallery Annex (read here). In the later afternoon I had a play with a domme .. it seems as that could develop – at least for some time.
And at night we had our Friday night party. slave Holly had the idea for the theme “James Bond”:
“It‘s Friday again, so we celebrate the start of the weekend. James Bond turned 60 .. what an age!, dress to celebrate “Bond-age” or come as you are (even naked). DJ Virgo is spinning the tunes for us.”
We were not that many, but had fun using the titles of the different films in our conversations. Another good start into the weekend.
