Wednesday, February 9th, started as usual with a few rounds of skipee with Flo. After our games I took Flo to club DeLust and summoned slave Holly to me when she came online. They both decorated me well and we chatted about RL and SL and had a relaxed night. Oh .. and I continued adding restraints, Holly is wearing her ankle and wrist cuffs again and my possiblities to lock and tie her grew slowly as intended for February.
We also talked about my upcoming rez day as well as about the theme for Friday night and we came up with a few ideas.

February 8th: Diomita at club DeLust with Flo and slave Holly

Thursday, February 9th, I was running late at night. Flo was playing skipee and I joined her for two rounds, then it was Flotime and she left to bed. slave Holly had been inworld shortly, just to tell me that was tired and would catch some sleep. And Mistress was inworld. We had talked in IM while I was playing and she waited for me in our skybox when Flo left. We had another chat, then I called it a night myself. I was tired – and I made no pictures that night.

For Friday, February 10th, I selected a theme fitting to Starry’s and my rezzday: “It’s Friday once again, time to celebrate. Tomorrow is the Global Movie Day – and we have some rezzdays ahead soon. So be a movie star of your choice – or come as you are (even naked) and celebrate with us. DJ Virgo is spinning the tunes for us.”

Of course we had fun once again. Mistress Cherry came as a giant She-Hulk. She loves changing her shape and appearance! Baroness Capelo was Xenomorph, Starry a catwoman, Virgo came as a Japanese movie star, yet for me she looked like Doris Day and Della was also a star vrom the 1960ies, at least, that’s what I thought.

Dio’s 15th year in Second Life Feb 11th, 2023

Without slave Holly reminding me I woulf have forgot my 15th rezzday. When she reminded a few days ago, my first thought was “Do I really want to write a long blogpost about the last year?” The honest answer is no. Nonetheless I sit here and begin writing, though I do not intend to write a really long post.

The last year in Second life was coined by the loss of my beloved partner, wife, slave, Mistress, my best friend Jenny. She passed away last Summer unexpectedly. I was worried when she didn’t come online although we had planned to meet and when my messages kept unanswered I figured out that something must have happened. The days of uncertainty were hard. Finally, I had contact with her family and learned of her unexpected sudden death.
It was hard to accept it, even harder to stay in Second Life. Those days I considered to leave SL behind me, I thought about closing the blog. My family in SL, all my close friends here were here for me and kept me going and finally I decided to stay and to continue this blog.
Then I had another stroke of fate, this time in my RL. Sometimes it is really hard to function, to continue and I mean both worlds RL and SL. The two are connected, SL is just a part of my RL. Since that stroke of fate I’m quite busy in my RL and my time in SL is limited. And I do not blog daily anymore.

It is said that time heals all wounds and it is. Today I like to remember the good time that Jenny and I had. Nevertheless, I miss her very much and my SL is different today than when we were here together. But my other SL gives me pleasure and I like to come into my other world – yet in the future I will also pursue more projects in RL and I also plan to travel more.

The family in SL hasn’t changed. Kitty, Flo and slave Holly are still my officially collared subs. slave Alessi is still close as my sub and a close family member as if she were collared. Angelique, my niece, is going through a hard time in her RL but she stays in touch and lives in our sim again, what I do appreciate.  Ebony, my step-daughter and all others who were close to Jenny and me, stayed close to me. Thank you all! Without you all, I wouldn’t be here anymore.

My sub side needs an outlet and to my surprise Cherry (Elenaslv Serenity) turned out to become my Mistress. We are both switches, maybe that’s why we fit. I’m happy to call her Mistress Cherry and I enjoy being with her. Mistress Cherry respects my SL family and thus our time together is limited, also because Mistress has her store and business in SL and is owned herself. Thank you, Mistress Cherry.

I continued exploring SL but I reduced my simploring activities. The simploring reports take a lot of time and I simply did not and do not have the time at the moment. What I mainly continue are my art activities. I enjoy visiting galleries and supporting the artists by writing about them. I had more than 100 art posts in my 14th year in Second Life.
Unfortunately I hadn’t enough time to continue the “Enjoying Bondage” series, but I hope to pick up this activity again as well as the “Backflash of the month” series.

During my 14th year in SL I also continued slightly changing my appearance. As opposed to RL, in SL we get more and more beautiful and I like this feature. So here is a picture of me taken end of August 2022.

I am still curious to see what SL has in store for me in the future and I look forward to every day I have the opportunity to spend time in SL. My SL without Jenny has simply changed. I want to thank all my friends and readers. SL is first of all about people and it’s you all who keep my and our SL enjoyable.
Let’s look forward and go on into my 16th year in Second Life.

Art in Second Life 2023 (11) Sole Fragments by Maghda @ Nitroglobus Roof Gallery

Dido Haas drew my attention to a new exhibition in her Nitroglobus Roof Gallery: Sole Fragments by Maghda.

“Sole Fragments” consists of 12 monochrome pictures. All pictures show women in different situations and moods, sometimes soldier, sometimes as prisoners, sometimes sad, sometimes vulnerable, sometimes erotic, then again searching, sometimes hurt. The women are very strong in some pictures, in others they seem rather weak. The pictures are very expressive and draw the viewer into the situation. They encourage us to want to understand what is depicted.

As always the pictures can develop their strengths with the mirroring floor at the Nitroglobus Roof Gallery. The objects chosen for decoration complement the exhibition. They, too, are not in shrill colors, creating a strange, thoughtful mood, a mood that matches the pictures.

Maghda wrote about her exhibition “Sole Fragments” that it is “a personal and introspective display of her journey through Second Life captured through the lens of photography. The exhibition features a collection of photographs that depict the various stages of the journey of the soul, from its highs and lows, to its triumphs and struggles. The photographs capture candid moments of self-reflection, raw emotions, and intimate moments of growth. Through the medium of photography as a means of self-exploration, and self-expression. The exhibition is my window into my soul, allowing the viewer to connect with the emotions and experiences depicted in the photographs on a deeper level.“

Maghda is from Denmark. She’s in Second Life since 2011. She discovered it “as a platform for artistic freedom and a new way to explore and express herself. In SL, she has the opportunity to connect with talented individuals from all around the globe, learning from them and finding inspiration in their work.“

Maghda left Second Life for 6 years and upon her return the technology had evolved. There were mesh bodies and the photographic tools had improved. Obviously Maghda made the most of it. Her pictures are intriguing. You can see more of her work on flickr.

Diary 2023 (15) February 6th/7th A nice and quiet start into the week

Monday, February 6th, I managed to visit an exhibition – Face and Body Language by Mareea Farrasco (read here). And at night, as none was around first, I visited the February exhibition at Nitroglobus Roof Gallery (post will be published tomorrow).
Upon my return Alessi was present and I went seeing her. slave Alessi was wearing her egg the first time and I tired to get familiar with the menu. slave Holly came inworld soon later.
We had a round of skipee first, slave Alessi had too good cards! Hence it was a comparably quick game. slave Holly had issues with her animations and it took a while to gather the reason for that. Actually we found out about it when I had taken slave Holly and slave Alessi to club DeLust already.

I had a chatty night talking mainly with slave Holly, a bit with slave Alessi and a bit with other guests at the club. slave Holly reminded me of my upcoming 15th rezzday. I admit that I had forgot about it. And usually I write a longer blogpost on this occasion summarizing the year and what happened. I think, that I won’t have the time for that this year *sighs*.
It was another nice and relaxed evening in SL.

Tuesday, February 7th, I spent some time writing for the blog. At night I met with Flo and we played two rounds of skipee. Both games were close and weired. So that was fun!
I took Flo t oPsi’s realm next and summoned slave Holly to us when she came inworld. There was not much going on at Psi’s realm. It is either busy and entertaining or …. like that night… it is quite quiet. After Flo had left I took slave Holly woth me to club DeLust.

Art in Second Life 2023 (10) “Face and Body Language” by Mareea Farrasco at NovaOwl Sky Gallery

Owl (Owl Dragonash) invited me to visit “Face and Body Language”, a new exhibition by Mareea Farrasco shown at NovaOwl Sky Gallery.
Knowing the gallery and the artist and having some time on my hand I went for a visit on Monday, February 6th.

I know Mareea Farrasco as owner of IMAGO Land and IMAGO Art Galleries. My first visit there was in 2021 (read Simploring 2021 (16) IMAGO Land). I saw her exhibtion “Painting the Summer” and I wrote about Mareea and her art: “Mareea’s pictures are quite large. They are based on pictures taken within Second Life. Most of them are in a little bit softened, without sharp contrasts, almost a bit blurred and held on light warm tones – reflecting the Summer.“

This in mind the exhibition poster and the title “Face and Body Language” was surprisng for me. And Owl wrote in the notcard accompanying the exhibition “This is a new style for Mareea and she explored her creativity beautifully!“

“Face and Body Language” consists of about 30 pictures displayed on both floors of the NovaOwl Sky Gallery. Mareea added some sculptures from Willem Koba to liven up the large room on the ground floor. She also added 2 pictures displayed on the floor. You can see them either using your camera or even better from the second floor where you can look at them through the transparent dance floor.

Mareea Farrasco is in Second Life since the end of 2009. As mentioned above she’s a SL photographer. She wrote about her art:
“My photography covers a large field, from portraits to landscapes, from concrete to metaphoric images, from narrative scenes to still life pictures.
Pastel colors are my favorites, expressions of a nostalgic painterly mood. But sometimes I add some color accents or, on a contrary, some dark shades and shadows, showing joy or fears, related to my feelings of the moment.
The pictures I create are small steps in the indefinite journey to myself, in the middle of the noisy yet amazing Second Life.”

And furtheron Mareea wrote about “Face and Body Language”: “my current exhibition is the result of my effort to come with something different from my comfort zone, sort of challenge I put on myself. So I play here with the theme of the exhibition – physical and (senti)mental attitudes of the avatar, who is the focus of the pictures, and with the technique based essentially on exploring the possibilities offered by the exposure and gamma correction in the photographic process.”

I think the result is convincing! Mareea’s pictures are erotic, the women in the pictures express passion and joy of life. They expose themselves and play consciously with temptations. I love in particular the strong colours. My personal favourites are the pictures with the wild red hair. I have been told that I have a weakness for red hair.
Anyway, I really liked what I saw. Well done!

The NovaOwl Gallery and the NovaOwl Sky Gallery is owned by Uli Jansma, Owl (Owl Dragonash) is the general manager. NovaOwl is an international community on the mainland continent of Corsica. NovaOwl is located on Novatron. It is a meeting place where events take place regularly. Thank you Uli and Owl for providing the space for the art and for enabling this exhibition. I enjoyed my visit.

Diary 2023 (14) February 4th/5th Onceagain a relaxed weekend

Saturday, February 4th, I had another quiet and relaxed night in Second Life. First I met with Flo at the games tables. I had allowed Flo to select an outfit for February herself and she choose something similar to January. Fine with me.
We played two rounds of skipee, then I took her to Carnal Intentions and later to club DeLust. I was in IM with Mistress all night long. She was busy with making textures and talking with customers of her store.
After Flo had left, slave Alessi came inworld and I ordered her to strip. She’s now in her February outfit. I will add more and more restraints with time over this month. I summoned slave Alessi to me and we stayed in the club until it was time for bed.

Overall I had a relexed and quiet night.

Sunday, February 5th, I had some time on my hand in the afternoon and visited the Onceagain Art Gallery and the exhibition”Reflections” by Maddy (Magda Schmidtzau) (read here).
At night I first played 2 rounds of skipee with Flo – the games were exactly tied. I took Flo with me to Carnal Intentions where Mistress Cherry and slave Holly joined us. It was really quiet there but then a little bit of main chat and entertainment arised hence we had not only a good time amoung us. slave Alessi also joined us and Faye was there as well.

Later we spent a short time at club DeLust, then it was already time for bed.

Art in Second Life 2023 (9) Reflections by Maddy (Magda Schmidtzau) & Onceagain Art Gallery

I got an invitation to visit Maddy (Magda Schmidtzau)’s latest exhibition named “Reflections” at Onceagain Art Gallery. A good reason to visit Onceagain Art Gallery (once) again, as it is more than one year since I my last visit there (read Art in Second Life 2022 (2) Onceagain Art Gallery).

The landmark leads you to a small gazebo within a park. From there you walk through the park, cross the gate, turn left twice and walk a path upwards to reach the exhibition “Reflections” which is shown in kind of a cloistered court.

Onceagain (Manoji Yachvili) wrote about “Reflections”:
“I’m really pleased to host in my gallery a delicate artist, who I discovered last year by chance when I won one of her works at an auction.
In life you don’t always need to look for deep meanings, sometimes beauty is enough to reconcile you with the world and Maddy with her works is what she manages to do.”

The exhibition consists of 11 pictures all showing woman, mainly portraits, in their beauty. Most of the pictures are monochrom (not all) and the women are all dressed beautiful and they wear flowers, ornaments, jewelery and other accessories underlining their beauty and attracting the spectator to look for details and to get pulled into the picture.

Maddy wrote: ““Reflections” is a journey of portraits that experiments with new ideas using A.I. technologies. The exhibit showcases photos created with Midjourney and Second Life Avatars, combined with the use of A.I. to create a melancholic and dark atmosphere that captures the essence of the subjects portrayed. The soft colors and blurs emphasize the intense emotions and intimacy of the portraits, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the images.”

Maddy (Magda Schmidtzau) is in Second Life since 2009. She’s passionate about photography in RL and SL. She writes: “I’m not an artist but a researcher of images to be developed… a dreamer with open eyes of this world “out of time”. In SL always open to new possibilities of experimentation trying to convey the magic that I see.”
I’ve seen Maddy’s art the first time back in 2017 at Enchanted Art where her exhibition “Maddy 2017” was showcased (read here). Further on I saw Maddy’s work at La Maison d’Aneli in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022 and at GenovArt Glass Gallery in May 2021 (read here). You can see more of her art at her flickr page.

Once at the gallery I took the teleporter, where I landed for my visit to “Reflections” and visited the Onceagain Art Gallery.

Impressions of Onceagain Art Gallery (1) – Two buildings / Two sculptures (Cherry Manga and Bryn Oh)

The place has changed quite a lot, the concept is still the same. In a large park are several buildings. The park and the buildings are full of Onceagain (Manoji Yachvili)’s art collection. In the park you find 3D art as well as inside of the buildings at windows or larger spaces. The buildings are galleries and feature the art of many artists.

Diary 2023 (13) Feb 2nd/3rd National Wear Red Day

Thursday, February 2nd, Sl was working properly again right away when I came online at night. Flo was playing skipee alone and Mistress Cherry joined me at our skybox to say hello (and to get her feet worshipped).
I played two rounds of skipee with Flo, then slave Holly joined us just when we ended the 2nd round. I took slave Holly and Flo with me to Carnal Intentions that night. Mistress Cherry was shopping in the meanwhile and got new (reddish) dark hair, she joined us at Carnal Intentions. It became a chatty night at least for me. Faye and slave Alessi also joined late at night.

Friday, February 3rd, we had our regular Friday night party again. I picked “Red” as theme for the party:
“It’s Friday and we celebrate the start of the weekend. In the UK today is National Carrot Day as well as National Wear Red Day. Hence wear something carrot or red – or come as you are (even naked) to dance and celebrate. Dj Virgo is spinning the tunes for us.“

We had fun once again, Starbright Wingtips was …ehm… refrained from joining us as she was holding a candle for Della randt (well, she was tied up and restricted but I bet she enjoyed). I myself stayed longer than I intended and enjoyed the teasing and banter between Morgie, Kira, Claven and Baroness Capelo. Another great start into the weekend.

Art in Second Life 2023 (8) Melusina Parkin’s February 2023 exhibitions

Melusina Parkin invited me to her February 2023 exhibitions. She has two new exhibitions: “Ladies” shown at Melu’s Photo Gallery and “Outskirts” shown at her Minimum Gallery.

I am a fan of Melusina Parkin’s art and have seen quite some of her exhibitions. Melu’s style is minimalistic. She usually takes her pictures in Second Life. The minimalism forces the spectator to focus on details, that might stay unseen when too much distracts the view. I visited “Ladies” at Melu’s Photo Gallery first and this exhibition fits perfectly into the exhibitions in which Melu pursues her minimalism.

No wonder “Ladies” shows pictures of women, more precisely of ladies. The women are all adult and gracefully depicted. Often you see them only unreal, either blurred or only from the backside, sometimes a no contrasting uni background is selected, furtheron they don’t wear any colourful clothes. Thus you have to focus to see the details, the secret behing these ladies. You can speculate about their age, or there origin. Are they happy or depressed? What do you conclude from their posture?

At Melu’s Minimum Gallery is the exhibition “Outskirts”. In this exhibition Melusina Parking worked with Artificial Intelligence once again, like in her exhibition “Wrong Mirrors” which I saw last month (read “Art in Second Life 2023 (1) Wrong Mirrors by Melusina Parkin“).

At the exhibition is a board explaining more about “Outskirts”:

“This exhibition shows 80 images based on AI generated ones, depicting scenes of everyday life in the outskirts of a big city. Each of the 20 panels shows 4 images, available by clicking on them.
Years ago, I did an exhibit titles “Outskirts, Images of a neglected world”, showing photos of SL places. Now I tried to do the same using the AI tool. Maybe the introuction to the former show can be suitable for this one, so I reproduce it here below…..”

The pictures at “Outskirts” are not necessarily minimalistic, yet they all express a bit of depression and sadness. No strong colours appear, mostly the world in the outskirts is grey and hazy.
I clicked on a few of the 20 pictures to see the other 3 pictures of the same frame. I admit, that I didn’t find a scheme. The 4 pictures have no common motif, at least I couldn’t recognize it. Instead all 80 pictures show typical scenes of the outskirts. Very intriguing as the conditions of life in the outskirts can be felt when looking at the pictures.

Melusina Parkin is in Second Life since September 2008. She has been a fashion manager, a journalist, a furniture creator, a builder, a decorator and a photographer. Her work as a photographer has been showcased in more than 50 exhibitions – from which I saw just a few. Melusina has a flickr account which counts more than 13,000 (!) photographs. Extensive collections of her photos can be seen also on her blog Virtual Exhibits and on some slideshows on Youtube (links also under this post).
There’s also an online book with her Second Life exhibits 2011-2019 here.
Melusina Parkin has an own gallery at Time Portal, “Melu’s Photo Gallery” and an own store for Art Deco furniture called “Melu Deco“. Melusina also owns a second place (Melu Space) with another gallery (Minimum Gallery), a bookstore and another “Melu Deco” inworld store.

I had an quite eventless Monday, January 30th, in SL. Just slave Holly was inworld for a while at night. I took her to club DeLust but she was tired from a busy day and hence I brought her back home again – RL first.
Mistress Cherry was also busy, I had her in IM while I was online.
I spent my about 2 hours at club DeLust. Miss Dana (Dana Darkwatch) was present and I decorated her while she was there. Well and that’s already all.

Tuesday, January 31st, I was once again alone at night first. I went to club DeLust first and had Mistress Cherry in IM where we caught up with our news. Then I decided to go shopping. I had seen a new outfit from Avec Toi a few days before and wanted to get it – and I got it. I changed and returned to the club.
When slave Holly came online I returned home. Mistress Cherry came to our skybox to say good night, then I played a round of skipee with slave Holly.
I still hadn’t decided about a slave outfit for February and took slave Holly with me to DHB to get some inspiration. After the visit I had decided *winks*.

January 31st: Diomita at club DeLust with slave Holly

Finally I spent some time at clubd DeLust with slave Holly. Time flew by quickly.

Wednesday night, February 1st, was different. I had troubles logging in first and when I got in-world I was a red cloud – and I stayed a red cloud. I talked with Mistress in IM and she told me that she was a red cloud as well. Being a cloud I went to the skipee table and played a game alone. The upsite of playing alone is that you always win *winks*. Flo came in (as a cloud) and we played another game together. slave Holly also managed to come online – also as a red cloud. Flo and I just managed to end our game, then Mount Everest was restarted and we all were logged off.
I returned later at night and the issues had been solved. slave Holly was also online again. I used the time with her to get her into her slave outfit for February. For her February has a developing outfit on stock, starting just naked. I appreciated having slave Holly like this after a long while and exposed her at my feet at club DeLust only for a short time as it was already late.
