Simploring 2018 (72) – “The 7 deadly sins” by Oceanida

I came across Ana (oceanida) when I visited the R&D Gallery at Diotima (see here). Ana (oceanida) makes photographs in black and white. She plays with coloured transparent walls and with mirror effects that provide another and particular view at her work. Today, when I was looking where to go to for simploring, I saw on scoop.it SL Destinations, that there’s another exhibition of Ana called “The 7 deadly sins”, which is presented at the Niflheimer Art Gallery.

The Niflheimer Art Gallery, owned by Thor (anaadi), is located in an old plant building. The Gallery is curated by Yvan Slade. The old plant building is quite popular in Second Life and I saw it quite often already before used for different purposes.

“The 7 deadly sins” by Oceanida at Niflheimer Art Gallery

Ana’s exhibition “The 7 deadly sins” presents her black and white pictures again using coloured transparent walls as well as mirror and light effects. In addition Ana added furniture and other objects to enhance the effect of her pictures.

The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, is a grouping and classification of vices within Christian teachings. Behaviours or habits are classified under this category if they directly give birth to other immoralities. The standard list compromises pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth, which are also contrary to the seven virtues prudence, justice, temperance, courage (or fortitude), faith, hope and charity. (source wikipedia).

“The 7 deadly sins” by Oceanida at Niflheimer Art Gallery (1) – Lust

Ana grouped her pictures according to the 7 deadly sins. You enter the different rooms through transparent walls and the room, the pictures on the walls and all other objects are submerged by this colour. Most of the pictures do clearly represent the according deadly sin. I just had problems to interpret 2 of the 3 pictures related to the sin of sloth.

“The 7 deadly sins” by Oceanida at Niflheimer Art Gallery (2) – Sloth (lower left) / Gluttony (upper right) / Wrath (lower right)

During my visit I was dressed in a black latex catsuit and wearing a corset and I fitted quite well into the surrounding, particular in the space dedicated to the deadly sin of lust.

Overall “The 7 deadly sins” is a felicitous exhibition. Ana’s pictures are very expressive and the colourful environment once again provides a great contrast, something you can’t easily reproduce in the physical world.

“The 7 deadly sins” by Oceanida at Niflheimer Art Gallery (3) – Greed (upper left) / Envy (upper right) / Pride (lower left)

The exhibtion was opened August 5th and I don’t know how long it will be shown at the Niflheimer Art Gallery, so you should better visit it timely.
Thank you Ana for the great work and thank you Thor for providing the space for the art.

Simploring 2018 (71) Island of Trust

For my simploring tour on Thursday, August 16th, I picked “Island of Trust” from scoop.it SL Destinations.
The landmark description is promising: “A breathtaking Africa themed sim with glorious beaches, magnificent scenery, beautiful animals, birds and marine life and lots of romantic places to cuddle, dance or bring a lover. You will land in a hub so use the TP board to explore!
Island of Trust is owned by Krystal (Krystal Iridescent) who also owns the adjacent sim *Xtal* Garden and the *Xtal* store, which offers a wide variety of furnishings and a few homes.

Impressions of “Island of Trust” (1) – The landing skybox and landing at the island itself

The landing is in skybox. There you’ll get a notecard with some really basic rules you should follow when visiting “Island of Trust“. It is an adult sim, yet that doesn’t mean that you can do what you want and it is not a sex sim – in short: act like an adult. From here you can go either directly to the “Island of Trust“, or teleport directly to some points of interest there, or visit the above mentioned *Xtal* Garden or the *Xtal* store.
I decided to visit the “Island of Trust“, the teleport led me to the beach and to a couple of boards repeating the rules. Quite close to the landing I found a feather, on which you can sit down and that takes you on a tour over “Island of Trust“. That’s a prefect start for a simploring tour:
Welcome to the Island of Trust! Sit back, turn off your AO, allow the region windlight and put your speakers on to hear the sounds as i take you on a safari! We have lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhino, monkeys, birds, gazelle, zebras, meerkats, lions and more here!

Impressions of “Island of Trust” (2) – The feather tour

During the tour you get a lot more information about the wildlife, about the animals, the declining population and about some of the many endangered species all around the world because of human overpopulation causing habitat loss and fragmentation.
The tour guide also provides links to further information. Besides the great views I could collect during the feather tour the provided information is very serious and eductional. Krystal clearly wants to contribute to spreading the information about the endangered wildlife.

Impressions of “Island of Trust” (3) – The wildife

After the feather tour I visited “Island of Trust” on foot and I could take many great pictures. There’s a lot to discover and I’m pretty sure that I still missed a lot. In Second Life you can get very close to the animals, they won’t run away from you. You can even pose on them or next to them and take some really funny shots – and you don’t harm them at all. This kind of a safari is a very environmentally friendly and friendly to animals. I think the pictures show how much fun I had and what beautiful views I could get.

Impressions of “Island of Trust” (4) – The wildlife (and funny poses)

Impressions of “Island of Trust” (5) – great views

Besides the animals the nature is just great and Krystal has also added storm and rain. The places to sit and watch or to cuddle offer mostly a great view into the landscape. There are some huts and houses which provide further opportunities to sit, cuddle or simply talk.

Impressions of “Island of Trust” (6) – Some of the many places to sit or cuddle

I’ve never been to Africa in RL myself so far, but that’s how I’d picture a visit to it. Yet I doubt that I would see that many wildlife as on “Island of Trust” and for sure I won’t get that close to the animals and most probably I wouldn’t want to either *winks*.
I like the way Krystal has combined information with fun. “Island of Trust” is really a great place to have fun or to retreat and enjoy. I hope that I can fulfill my intention to go back for further simploring and for visiting the *Xtal* garden. Thank you Krystal (Krystal Iridescent) for this great place in Second Life!

Simploring 2018 (70) – The Art Game

Sunday, August 12th, I picked “The Art Game” from scoop.it SL Destinations for my simploring tour.
The Art Game” is an installation from Betty Tureaud on LEA21. It’s the 2nd time that I came across Betty Tureaud. I saw other piece of art from her at ArtSpace UTSA in 2016 (read here). Betty Tureaud is from Denmark, she’s a builder and light and space artist in Second Life.

The landing at “The Art Game” is on a flat endless colourful plateau right next to some floating tyres. You have to sit on one of them to get into the installation itself. Once you’re inside, there is a board advertising the opening event which was Friday, August 10th, and a map with your position and some lines, it reminded me of the board for nine men’s morris. In the center of the map are two dice. And from the off you get a message from Betty Tureaud: “Welcome to The Art Game! To get on you must find the two dice (set cam to minimum 250m)

Impressions of “The Art Game” by Betty Tureaud (1)

Ok …”The Art Game” is a maze! And it is a colourful maze. I tried to figure a way from my position to the center and entered the maze. Just when I got around the first corner Pac-Man ran into me and swallowed me. I had no way to get out and Pac-Man had it’s fun with me running back and forth the tube. After a while I teleported back to the start and when I entered the 2nd time I looked out carefully and got the right timing and avoided getting swallowed again.
But I forgot where to go 🙂 And that’s what a maze is for, you get lost. And several Pac-Men were after me. I took some nice pictures of myself being a part of the Pac-Man game. And of course I also met the Pac-Man Ghosts Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde.

Impressions of “The Art Game” by Betty Tureaud (2)

The Art Game” was really fun! I finally made it to the center and found the dice laying under a huge, colourful being with many tentacles. Right next to I found a dice with a free gift. My gift was one of the Pac-Man ghosts: Blinky. When I returned home I tried it and added it and I was transformed into Blinky – funny!

Impressions of “The Art Game” by Betty Tureaud (3) and back home I scared Angelique

The Art Game” offers a lot of colourful views, some fun and for those familiar with Pac-Man also the very special experience to get into the game. Thank you Betty for your installation. I really enjoyed my visit. Well done!

Simploring 2018 (69) Peace in mind

Tuesday night, July 31st, I found surprisingly time for a simploring tour. I picked “Peace of mind” from scoop.it SL Destinations as the provided picture and the landmark description caught my attention: “Welcome! Enjoy! I have a passion for landscaping, design & art. Hopefully this place brings peace in your heart. Check out the NEW secret caves, have fun on the beach, hangout at the cottage in the forest, play games, etc!

Impressions of “Peace of Mind” (1) – beach and landing (upper left) / overview (lower left) / indoor Swimming pool (upper and lower right)

Peace of Mind” is a parcel on mainland owned by Talacious Tigerpaw. The landing point is at a nece beach. The parcel is surrounded by steep rocks. “Peace of Mind” offers a lot to discover and many nice spots to sit and talk.

Impressions of “Peace of Mind” (2) – in the woods / the cave (lower right)

I began my simploring at the beach from where you have to walk up a bit to get to an indoor swimming pool. There is a set table for a romantic dinner for two. From there I walked through the woods upwards and upwards. Along the path you might notice some animals who liven up the scene. At one point you can leave the path and enter a sunflower field, which I did not as I assumed that it was already on the next parcel. Later I found out, that it is an extension parcel of “Peace of Mind“.
The path leads up further and further until you reach a cave. The cave can certainly be used as another rooantic spot, but I didn’t find any opportunity to sit and relax inside of it. leaving the cave the path leads further upwards until you reach the top of the rock and a high plateau. There are two connected tree houses. Both are fully furnished.

Impressions of “Peace of Mind” (3) – The tree houses

If you walk beyond the tree houses you get to the sunflower field again and this time I entered it and I found another living space under a big tree. On the high plateau you also find a bar and restaurant and at the end of the plateau a large villa, that I could already see from the beach looking up to the top of the rock. This villa is outstanding because it is also fully furnished. It offers again a lot of rooms where you could meet.

Impressions of “Peace of Mind” (4) – sunflower field (upper pictures) / bar and restaurant (lower pictures)

Impressions of “Peace of Mind” (5) – the villa

There’s a lot to discover at “Peace of Mind” and I had fun exploring it and taking lots of pictures. “Peace of Mind” has just one downside being located on mainland you don’t have a fitting sim background and the neighborhood can be disturbing, in particular the sky platforms are disturbing the view.
I was surprised that the whole plot is fully accessible for the public including the fully furnished tree houses and the large villa. You certainly can find some peace there. I had fun simploring. Thank you Talacious Tigerpaw for providing your plot to the public.

Simploring 2018 (68) Saguaro and Fruit Islands

Once again I picked the destination for my simploring tour on Saturday, August 4th, from scoop.it SL Destinations: Saguaro.
The picture of Saguaro and the landmark description read tempting for me at least: “Welcome to Saguaro, the home of Luc and Dooz, a photo-op place and hang out. You may sail, take a kayak o swim – just sit on the waterball. Switch on Media for seasound.

First impressions of Saguaro: Landing and kayak tour around the island

Saguaro is a small island and just one the Fruit Islands. Fruit Islands are owned by Loretta String; Loretta rents out seperate Islands to residents. Those islands are not homesteads, they are smaller but the prim count can be similar, higher or lower than that of a homestead. One of these islands is Saguaro, located within a sailing paradise of numerous residential islands. Those other islands build a lovely natural background for Saguaro.

Impressions of Saguaro

Saguro is owned by Dooz (dooozy) and Luc (eslucas) and it is open to the public. It is another small corner of Second Life to relax and chill and to let your mind wander feeling like being on vacation. The provided landmark to Saguaro leads to a pier with a big motor sailing yacht and a rezzer for a kayak. I took the kayak and paddled once around the island to get an overview. In the middle of Saguro island is an open house, it’s more a rain protection for furniture than a house. The beach as well as the house offers many opportunites to sit and cuddle or to watch what is going on around.

Just a Little selection of places to sit and cuddle and to let your mind go wander at Saguaro

The vegetation as well as the places and the furniture to enjoy the sun are selected with love for the detail. You can sense that this island is a homeplace first of all. It is remarkable that Luc and Dooz keep it open for the public, so that you and I can use it for chilling and for enjoying ourself. I spent about half an hour of a short vacation within Second Life at Saguaro.

Thank you, Dooz (dooozy) and Luc (eslucas) for providing your place for my short vacation. I really enjoyed and I like what you made of it.

Diary 2018 (141) August 5th/6th The Rope Society

I had a relaxed Sunday, August 5th. I found time to sort my inventory and to update my wardrobe in the morning and I met with Angelique in the afternoon at Heavy Bondage Club. She was still wearing her chastity belt and bra but it was about she had to change her outfit. I selected plastic knickers and a transparent plastic dress for her to wear, an outfit that not only underlined Angelique’s beauty but does also reveal one of her favourite kinks.

August 5th: Diomita and Angelique at Heavy Bondage Club

When I returned at night, Angelique was still (or again) at Heavy Bondage Club and she reported that she got already a praise for her lovely outfit.
Mistress Jenny joined us there and we, Mistress Jenny, Angelique and I, went over to The Knot Society, and summoned slave Flo to us. The Knot Society is a club we visited in May the first time (read here). It was renamed to The Rope Society and has changed a bit compared to our last visit. The outdoor area is really nice and comfy now and offers a lot of places to sit and meet or even to cuddle or to take a bath.
At the main house of The Rope Society we met Aeesha Weldheart (ajesha), who welcomed us. The owner of the Rope Society, Meea Weldheart (meeamarrie), joined us as well. We chatted a bit, then after Angelique had went off for bed, we sat down and had slave Flo dancing for us – quite relaxing for Mistress Jenny and me.

August 5th: Mistress Jenny, Angelique, Diomita and slave Flo at the Rope Society

We were about to leave when also slave slut cecy came inworld. Mistress Jenny summoned her to us with the intention that she could dance together with save Flo for us, Meea and Aeesha. But the dance pole was designed just for one avatar dancing.

August 5th: Mistress Jenny and Diomita at the Rope Society with slave Flo and slave slut cecy and with Aeesha and Meea

Back home we said good night to the slaves and retreated to our skybox and had some togetherness just for Mistress Jenny and myself (no pictures *winks*)

Monday, August 6th, I got inworld in the afternoon for a bit and met Angelique at home while I was looking at the slave display boxes with slave Gwen, slave Flo and slave kelly. Angelique had to leave soon after and I began playing and enjoying the displayed slaves. I added some restrictions and got rewarded by their moans and their helplessness. That’s music in my ears, I confess. I spoked out aloud my thoughts and plans knowing they can nothing do about it but accept what I have on stock for them. With that thought I left them alone again and tend to my RL.

August 6th: Diomita and Angelique at home with the displayed slave kelly, slave Gwen and slave Flo

Our night began with teasing slave Gwen and slave Flo again. Then Mistress Jenny decided to leave the slaves in her display boxes and summoned me and Angelique to our skybox. She wanted Angelique to clean me … or better expressed to lick me in front of her eyes. And Angelique did so …. after a while I could blind out Mistress’ presence and enjoyed Angelique’s talented tongue and it was quite satisfying.

August 6th: Mistress Jenny watching Angelique “cleaning” Diomita / Mistress Jenny and Diomita teasing the displayed slave Gwen and slave Flo

We went back to the slaves when Angelique had to leave. After some more teasing, I released slave Gwen and slave Flo from the display boxes for a while as our house is really dirty by now and needs some cleaning. Jenny and I went to club DeLust before we retreated to our skybox and Mistress got spoiled by me (again no pictures from this part of our night *winks*)

Simploring 2018 (67) Daydream by Cica Ghost

Today’s entry is a bit out of the more or less chronical order of our blog. The reason is that Cica Ghost opened her newest installation “Daydream” on August 10th. I got an invite from her and I visited Saturday, August 11th. As you never know how long Cica’s installations stay opened until she creates something new, I decided to publish my report timely, so that there’s enough time for you to visit yourself.
The thought Cica gives us on our way visiting “Daydream” is in the short landmark description “Lose yourself in a daydream…

Impression of “Daydream by Cica Chost” (1)

Daydream is an island, but this time it is not meagre although there’re some hills and rock. You’ll find colourful trees and quite some lovely fields of flowers. The landing is quite in the middle of the sim from where you can discover it on foot. I didn’t find any of the famous Cicamobiles this time.

Impression of “Daydream by Cica Chost” (2)

Daydream offers a broad spectrum of know and unknown characters and beings created by Cica nicely spread over the island and you encounter them on your way exploring it. Quite close to the landing are two snails in a field of flowers. They look at eachother and the scene is very peaceful. As always Cica’s beings are quite large. There are two turtles and they even don’t mind when you walk on their carapace.
For me the two creatures, that look like big squirrels and eat strawberries, were really impressive and although they look like little dinosaurs there are not scary at all. There’s one being, I want to mention in particular, a crossbred of a goat and an eagle with an human face, sitting on a rock like supervising the whole island and the scenery. You can see it from the landing point and from other spots on the island.

Impression of “Daydream by Cica Chost” (3)

At Daydream you will find a few places to sit and even to cuddle. One of these plaves is s cave in a single quite outstanding tree, which is even furnished. But there’re some more, just look out!
Another element of Daydream are Cica’s cats (well know from her installation 50 cats, read here in this blog). Some of them roam around at Daydream and made me smile.

Apropos smile, Daydream seems not to have a really strong message, it is a dream, a place to let your mind wander, to enjoy new and old elements of Cica’s work, it’s colourful, whimsical, and peaceful.
I don’t want to forget that Cica herself immersed into Daydream disguised as a black cat. I found her close to the landing point and I assume that she’s sticks around there daydreaming when she’s online.

Impression of “Daydream by Cica Chost” (4)

Inara Pey has already published a blog post about her visit and as always it is quite elaborated and I recommend reading it “Cica’s Dayfream in Second Life“)

Thank you, Cica for your newest installation. As always I enjoyed my visit and I really liked what I saw, so much to discover!

Simploring 2018 (66) Alexandria in Second Life

My simploring tour on Sunday, July 29th, led me two thousand years back in to Alexandria in the year 40 bc. I picked the landmark from scoop.it SL Destinations. The landmark description is short but precise: “The most amazing city of Antiquity. Immerse yourself in the history of the great city of Alexandreia, 40 B.C.

Alexandria 40 bc – Overview

Alexandria in Second Life is built on a full sim and rated adult. It is owned by Kleopatra T. Philopator (doroty.davies), who says about herself that she’s “the Queen of Egypt and the living Goddess Isis, remaining in Alexandreia with my family and the Court.

I landed at the “Agora” in the middle of the antique town. I found out later, that there’s a welcome skybox with some information and will provide that landmark for Alexandria.

Impressions of Alexandria 40 bc (1) – at the Agora and the temple nearby / inside of the temple (lower right)

Alexandria is first of all a roleplay sim, where you immerse yourself into the antique aera. While I visited just one other person was present. You’re allowed to visit as a tourist, yet you just should respect roleplaying persons and not interact.

As mentioned above my visit started at the Agora. I first went into a huge temple which contained nothing but a sarcophagus. The next building I explored was the palace. I didn’t find an entrance but (thanks to flying and sitting abilities) found my way in nonetheless. The inside is quite impressive and colourful. The walls are decorated with egypt paintings, the whole palace radiates the luxury of a few people 2,000 years back in time. Really impressive even virtually.

Impressions of Alexandria 40 bc (2) – inside of the palace

After my visit to the palace I used the teleporter system of Alexandria and visited the Caesareum, the Harbour, the zoo, the Serapeum, the great library, Pharos, Doors, Arabesque and Porn-Eio. Porn-Eio? Actually, I don’t know what this word means nor could I find anything fitting on the net. It might a Greek or Latin word. Anyway in Alexandria of Second Life it is located close to the harbour (just like nowadays *winks*) and is obviously an ancient brothel.

Impressions of Alexandria 40 bc (3) – Exhibition “Sexuality in ancient Egypt” at the great library (upper left and right) / Caesareum (lower left) / Serapeum (lower right)

The Caesareum and the Serapeum are both ancient temples of Alexandria. You can find information about them on wikipedia as well as about Pharos, the lighthouse of ancient Alexandria and one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The great library is close to the Caesareum and currently offers an exhibition about sexuality in ancient Egypt. The exhibited pictures contain notecards with information.
Of course I also visited the zoo, although I really was surprised that they had already zoos in 40 bc.

Impressions of Alexandria 40 bc (4) – Pharos (upper left) / Harbour (upper right) / Porn-Eio (lower left) / Zoo (lower right)

Doors is the above mentioned welcome skybox, Arabesque is a out-of-character disco in another skybox. Arabesque offers regular events and there’s a board with the times and dates.

Impressions of Alexandria 40 bc (5) – Arabesque, the out of character disco / another view over Alexandria (lower right)

Alexandria is really well made, a great place for taking pictures and for getting an impression of this ancient town, which was of high importance in the year 40 bc. Again I could visit a place that proves the enormous possibilities of Second Life. I enjoyed my visit a lot and am impressed. Alexandria is worth a visit. Thank you Queen of Egypt aka. Kleopatra T. Philopator aka. Doroty Davies!

Simploring 2018 (65) Nantes

In 2016 and 2017 I had 3 blogpost about “Follow your Bliss” (“Happy Easter – Follow your bliss“, “Simploring 2017 (5) Follow your Bliss” and “Simploring 2017 (50) Follow Your Bliss (II)“). Sadly “Follow your Bliss” is longer existent. In the virtual world of Second Life places appear, change and vanish quite quickly sometimes. Hence it is good to keep some memories because they stay. But on the other side, the changes provide countless opportunities to discover and explore, the creativity in Second Life seems to be endless, which is not surprising as people from all over the world live out their dreams virtually. “Follow your Bliss” was created and owned by Ms. Nantes (elizabethnantes).

Nantes – an overview

As I still was a member of the according group, I got a message that Ms. Nantes has build a new place – Nantes. “I am opening a new sim, reminiscent of the original Follow your Bliss (+FYB+). Nantes will be group access only and there will be a small fee for the group to help offset the cost of staying open, I loved sharing +FYB+ with all of you and I hope you will enjoy Nantes as well.” The opening of Nantes was on July, 25th and I visited it July 26th/27th.

The landing point of Nantes is in a small hut by the sea. Here you can join the group in order to be able to visit. The fee, Ms. Nantes mentioned above, is 250 L$ (approx. 1 US$) and will contribute to keep the sim alive. From here you can either start exploring on foot or you take the teleporter to Nantes Gallery or to Ms. Nantes store, e.posEd. The store is located in a skybox above Nantes and offers animations. The Nantes Gallery is located on the sim itself. I decided to explore on foot and not far from the landing hut I found a teleporter map, that gave me a nice overview. Yet I continued simploring on foot.

Impressions of Nantes (1) – Benson House (upper left) / House by the beach (upper right) / Prodigy Brew (lower left and right)

Nantes is a group of islands connected by bridges, clearly dedicated for vacation or simply for relaxing and unwinding. It offers a nice beach with several different opportunities to sit (and cuddle). On a offshore sandbank (“Hamilton Surf Beach”) you also find several roofed wicker beach chairs, that are typical for Northern Germany and gave me a feeling of home *winks*. But there’s more. For example an outdoor cinema where you can watch youtube clips laying in the sun, called “Magic Movie Cove”. Or there is the “Lake Joliva”, a little lake with some toys and with animals to watch.

Impressions of Nantes (2) – The Nantes Gallery presenting “L’amuse Bouch”

Nantes has 3 major buildings and you can visit them all. The “Benson House” is a fully furnished residential house, the “Prodigy Brew & Boathouse” is a place to meet and chat in a nice and comfy environment, and the Nantes Gallery. The current exhibition at the Nantes Gallery is called “L’amuse Bouche”. L’amuse Bouch is French and means appetizer. What a great title for a first exhibition, that features the picture of several different artists. I admit that none of the names were familiar for me, but that might change in future.

Impressions of Nantes (3) – Magic Movie Cove (upper left) / at the Lake Joliva (upper right and lower left) / Diamond River Retreat (lower right)

I finished me first visit to Nantes with a boat tour. There’s a peddleboat rezzer at “Taslin Bay”. And I was really not dressed appropriate for the peddleboating nor for the whole visit. Next time I’ll dress casually again and will wear my simploring sneakers!

Impressions of Nantes (4) – at Hamiltion Surf Beach (upper left and right) / peddleboating (lower left and right)

Nantes is, similar to “Follow your Bliss”, a place to unwind, to chat, to cuddle or for taking nice pictures. It’s a lovely place and I can only recommend visiting. I might return for another visit of the Nantes Gallery, if there’s an exhibtion that I want to see.
Thank you Ms. Nantes (elizabethnantes) for providing Nantes to the public!

Simploring 2018 (64) The Winds

For my simploring tour Sunday, July 22nd, I picked again a destination from scoop.it SL DestinationsSummers Wind. There’s an exhibition at Summers Wind featuring Giancarlo Petrini, an Italian painter. I recommend reading the blog post “GIANCARLO PETRINI: hosted at Summers Wind” before you visit. This blog post contains a lot of information about the artist Giancarlo Petrini.

Giancarlo Petrini at Summers Wind (1)

The provided landmark leads directly to the exhibition of Giancarlo Petrini. It is located at the cafe of arts right on the beach of Summers Wind. The pictures are exhibited on the pier of this cafe instead of being presented in a gallery. It is a quite particular way to exhibit pictures, that are transferred from RL into Second Life. It feels like being at the beach of an artist community. I enjoyed taking a closer look at the work of Giancarlo Petrini.

Giancarlo Petrini at Summers Wind (2)

Once at Summers Wind I started simploring the island as the first impression was really stunning. It is a perfect summer retreat, just beautiful. I walked up and discovered two large caves, one was occupied by a store for mesh heads, the other was empty but there was one piece of art at one wall. Walking further up I arrived at a large greenhouse that is obviously used for meetings.
The nature and the setting of Summers Wind is just perfect, a dream and it is great for taking pictures that look a bit like painted. On my simploring tour I saw several homes and noticed that they are private and inhabited. At one house, that was not inhabited, I found a board and could grab some information.

Impressions of the public area of Summers Wind (1) – Cave, Gazebo and more

Summers Wind is owned by Caterina della Rovere (catweasel ohanlon) and is a part of “The Winds”: “Summers Wind and Winters Wind are community sims – meaning that some portions of the sims are public. Summers Wind is a full sim and besides having 6 homes for rent, there are also stores, a small dance club, an events center and areas to explore and photograph. Winters Wind is a homestead with 9 home rentals. Autumns Wind has 4 rental homes. Springs Wind is a private homestead sim.
Please respect the privacy of our residents. Do not enter homes and parcels without permission. There are common areas Summers Wind, Autumns Wind and Winters Wind where you may hang out and relax.

At the free residential home I learned also about the concept of the community. You can rent the house and furnish the inside as you like (supposed that you don’t exceed the prim limit). You are not allowed to change the exterior of the house – and if you want to do so, just have to contact Caterina and agree with her upon the desired changed. I do understand this concept as it ensures that the overall perfect design of the sim isn’t changed and thus all community members can enjoy the environment.

Summers Wind‘s public areas and the beautiful views you have overlooking the islands are worth a visit even when you don’t intend to rent a house there. I myself enjoyed my visit to the exhibition of Giancarlo Petrini and to Summers Winds – and I discovered another corner of Second Life.
Thank you Caterina della Rovere (catweasel ohanlon) for providing the public areas, the space for art, and for offering living space in such a great environment.

P.S.: I got a messsage from Caterina after publishing this post: “I’ve been blessed to have such wonderful and creative friends who deserve all the credit. Mexi Lane and Violetta Inglewood“.
