Art in Second Life 2021 (107) “No Exit” by Milena Carbone

I got an invitation to see the newest exhibtion of Milena Carbone named “No Exit“. It was officially opened on November 3rd at the main hall of Nitroglobus Roof Gallery.

I have covered Milena Carbone (mylena1992) already quite often in this blog and hence I was eager to see her newest exhibition. Dido Hass wrote about “No Exit” in the accompanying notecard that the pictures were not intended for an exhibition originally. Dido Haas selected them from Milena’s recent pictures and pointed out to her that they all show two characters, which made Milena think of the French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre’s play “No exit” (“Huis clos” in french). Huis Clos is a play about three (not two) people who have nothing which connects them but the sole fact of being there, locked together in the same closed space. Through this play, Sartre explicitly tells us: “Hell is the others”. We are all the other of someone else, locked into a fictional room, i.e. a theater. In other words: we ourselves are hell.
And thus the story came to the pictures.

It’s true, there are always two caracters in each picture. But often it seems to the the very same person just in a different form. It makes you think and begin to interpret something into the picture. But before you do look at the floor in which Milena’s pictures are mirrored. The mirrored pictures are not the same. Little details are different – a bullet becaome a fish, a closed mouth is opened, or a head is replaced with a clock. Intriguing – and motivating the spectator to search for more differences and thus to immerse deeper into the picture and the story.

In the center of the exhibtion space you find a box. From the outside you see that there are some texts on the walls inside of the box, and there’s a dog. When you enter the box, you feel like caught in a closed room (the entrance is only transparent from the outside), you literally have “No Exit”.
The texts on the walls deal with “No Exit“, they confront the visitor/reader with incontestable truths, that have exactly one consequence and hence “No Exit” … Example: “The next planet beyond the solar system is nearly 41,000 billion kilometers from Earth. We are not sure if it is habitable. We would have to travel about 234,000 years to reach it with a spacecraft that would hurtle through space at 20,000 km per hour. There is nothing else. No exit.“

Milena Carbone (mylena1992) is a French artist and is in Second Life since mid 2019. She discovered its artistic potential and since then has devoted all her free time to creation, associating, as in real life, images and texts: “Milena Carbone is a fiction in which, as in any artistic work, biographical and imaginary elements are mixed.” Her creative process is iterative: some of her images inspire her stories and these stories modify the development of the image, which itself transforms the story.

Milena was very active in Second Life, owning and curating three galleries. She has decided to focus on just her gallery and to make the most of it. Hence she gave up her galleries at Noir’Wen City and at Serena. Nitroglobus Roof Gallery is owned and curated by Dido Haas. She has a speparete room at the gallery to showcase her own art, the main room is mostly dedicated to feature other artists.

Diary 2021 (144) October 25th/26th A relaxed start into the week

Monday, October 25th, I spent far over 2 hours with Mistress Jenny in the afternoon. We first visited club DeLust and caught up with our news. We spent a short time at club Domme a Domme, where I was allowed to kneel at Mistress feet. We spent some intimat time without any rush at our loft and I got my fix. We spent time at Heavy Bondage Club and saw someone with a nice demon shadow. We went to the store selling the demon shadow and each of us got one. At the store we also got a funny animesh add-on as a group gift, just the right gimmick for Halloween fun. Finally we spent time at Puerto Esclava and talked about our costumes for the upcoming Friday night Halloween party. A full, relaxed and enjoyable afternoon!

At night our pet Sun was present. Mistress wanted to start setting up the Halloween decoration for our party. Hence we first took Sun with us and collected object with a high prim count to make room for the decoration. Then we planted a forest around the dance floor. That took more than an hour in total. Mistress was satisfied with the start and we went to Psi’s realm next to wind down.

We spent a very relaxed night at Pis’s realm, first with our pet Sun, then with slave Holly. we chated among us and watched what was going on at Psi’s.

Tuesday, October 26th, Mistress Jenny and I had one hour together in the afternoon. We sepnt it chatting, catching up with our new, looking at outfits and looking good at Heavy Bondage Club, Puerto Esclava and club DeLust.

We had another relaxed night, played a round of skipee with Flo and spent the rest of the night at Carnal Intentions with pet Sun and slave Holly, mostly chatting among us – and yes we talked again about the “golden ticket” for our subs and slaves. Nothing more to report for this diary….

I visited the exhibition “Fools and Freaks” by Honey Bender at DixMix Gallery in room Amona. The exhibition consists of 12 pictures based on SL pictures, all showing females in freaky or fetish outfits, not erotic on a first glance, yet intriguing and tempting on a second glance. Just one pictures shows a male and a female.

I had seen Honey Bender’s art at DixMix Gallery in April 2021 the first time. Her style is quite unique. I like the way she processes her pictures turning SL photographs into art. All pictures of “Fools and Freaks” are kept in dark vintage colours. Honey added shadows and light at the right spots. The spectator is tempted to look at details. Yes the women are freaks yet even more you want to satisfy your curiosity, you begin to make up a story. Why are they like this? …. are they as freaky as they look like? What makes them being a freak? And what is a freak? Do you have to be a fool to be a freak? And is it bad to stare at the deformed lips?

Honey Bender is in Second Life for more than 14 years. She is a stylist and photographer in Second Life. Homey Bender owns or writes for AUDAZ, a website featuring styles and outfits, accessoires, art, fashion, photographs and trends.
Honey Bender also has her own store for particular and unique fashion. And – according to her profile – she’s rich in both worlds *winks*

The two larger pictures on the short walls of the exhibition rooms are different. One picture shows a male and at female in an artful pose. This picture is – in my personal opinion  – not freaky, it expresses love and passion. The other one is freaky, showing just feet in incredible high platform heels. You have to be a freak or a fool to wear them.

Thank you Dixmix for providing and curating the DixMix Gallery, thank you Megan for building it and for contributing at it. I enjoyed my visit and seeing “Fools and Freaks” by Honey Bender. The exhibition will stay open until November 13th.

Diary 2021 (143) October 23rd/24th Our 13th wedding anniversary inworld

Saturday, October 23rd, I met with Mistress Jenny in the afternoon for one hour. We went to Puerto Esclava and caught up with our mutual news there. Sun came inworld and edcorated us well :-). We had a relaxed time together until Mistress and I had to tend to our RL again.

Our night began with a skipee with Flo again, Sun watched us playing. After the game – Flo won it – slave Holly joined us inworld. slave Holly had a particular present for us and our anniversary. She had taken pictures form pictures that we have in our skybox and that she collected over time and she put them all together into a collage. Thank you slave Holly! Both, slave holly and Sun have really pleased us with creative presents. What else could you with from submissives?

I told Flo that I had a conversation with a therapist about her hallucinations, seeing a hooded black woman. The therpist stringly recommend that we should keep Flo in a straight jacket to protect us and herself. Hence I put Flo into a straight jacket suit after the game. I also added the RemVision, so that she could retreat into her own world watching a slideshow.
Mistress and I took Flo, slave Holly and Sun to our dungeon. I placed slave Flo at a wall, where she stayed all night being in her own little restricted and small world. Mistress asked me to rezz two spanking horses, then I unlocked slave holly’s chastity belt. Time for a anniversary horse ride.

We had fun riding and the slaves enjoyed it too! Horseriding is still one of our favourite entertainments. While we fucked our slave, they had to look at each other and they tried badly to kiss each other. After the ride and after they had cleaned our strapons I pushed the horses closer together so that they could kiss. And I took quite some pictures!

Sunday, October 24th, on 13th wedding anniversary, I went inworld in the morning and Mistress Jenny was present. After I sub-hugged her, she ordered me to wear ankle cuffs and to add my gag and blindfold. Then Mistress fixed me on her bench and cut my dress off. She teased me, stripped herself and without further ado she began to fuck me hard with her strapon. Mistress literally took what is hers. After I had a huge orgasm, she licked my juices and released me from the bench. We went dancing on our rooftop and caught up with our mutual news. What a start into the day. I felt owned, used and loved.

We met again in the afternoon at Heavy Bondage Club. Our pet Sun was inworld and Mistres summoned her to us. We went shopping with our pet and visited xtra Ordinary with her. She got a new latex dress from us. As she isn’t allowed getting anything herself anymore, it was a feast for her – and it was intended to be a feast and a reward. We returned home and pet was allowed to change into her new dress. It is colourable and she may change the colours as she likes until further notice. And the dress is “adjustable”, meaning that we can partly undress her with a click *winks*. Our pet felt spoiled (and was spoiled).
After pet had left to tend to her RL, Mistress and I visited Puerto Esclava for a few minutes, then we returned to our skybox. Before Mistress left, she locked and chained her property (me) at the wall and made sure that her Ehesklavin stays put.

At night after Mistress Jenny had released me, Mistress came up with an idea as a thank your for our slaves and subs and other family members. She wanted to grant them a wish. As a nice side effect it would give us ideas of hidden desires and it would give reason to talk. After we had discussed it, I sent out a notecard to Kitty, Flo, Holly, Faye, Sun, Angelique, Ebony – and later also to Alessi:

We went seeing the subs. Flo, Sun, Holly and later also Alessi were present. Of course the notecard gave reason to talk and we stayed quite some time in front of our house and talked about it. Then we moved on to Psi’s realm and in IM the conversation continuted, just as Mistress and I had expected it. Unfortunately Mistress had to leave unexpectedly and we returned home and off to bed.

Art in Second Life 2021 (106) “Minimal” by Dido Haas

I got an invitation fom Dido Haas to see her exhibtion “Minimal“. It is shown at Dido Haas’ part of Nitroglobus gallery, which is owned and curated by Dido Haas herself.

“Minimal” consists of 8 large pictures all arranged along the walls of the exhibtion room. The pictures mirror on the floor which highlights the art in a particular way. In the center you see a levitating object named “Mother’s Lab” created by  Jadeyu Fhang.

Dido’s passion are portraits and avatar studies, most of them are black/white. For “Minimal” she tried out something different. When I read “Minimal” spontaneously Melusina Parkin comes into my mind, an artist that I covered in this blog quite often already. The eight pictures of Dido Haas have a similar minimalistic style, focusing on just a few details. But Dido did not refer to minimalism when she named her exhibition “Minimal”, she referred to a shop named MINIMAL. All of her pictures use objects from MINIMAL, objects that were given as free group gifts. Dido added herself to the objects, added a background – and kept it simple. The result is amazing! As the person in her pictures (herself) is just a small add on, the spectator instinctively focuses on it even if it is not the central and largest part ot the picture.

While I visited “Minimal” I met Mihailsk, an artist who has exhibited at Nitroglobus Gallery and who is a friend of Dido. Mihailsk has supported Dido in setting up “Minimal“. After my visit I went to the shop MINIMAL.
MINIMAL is owned by Jorge Fernández (Ors Quan) and offers skyboxes, buildings, home&garden equipment and gear, backdrops, single objects, jewelery, scenes and men’s clothes. I found the section with the free group gifts – and recognized those, that Dido used for her exhibition “Minimal“.

Dido Haas is Dutch and has been in SL for way over 14 years – and according to herself, she is still enjoying this virtual world. Besides her own art, Dido owns and curates the Nitroglobus Roof Gallery, which consists of two exhibition rooms, the main room and a part that Dido uses to showcase her own art.

Thursday, October 21st, I met with Mistress Jenny in the afternoon at Heavy Bondage Club. She was together with another domme, furtheron referred to as “R”. I had had one play with “R” and I knew that “R” was eager to dominate both of us. Long storry short – as Mistress desires having someone doing that she wanted to give it a try and I’m not in a position to hold her back. It might add to our experience. And as “R” wanted some time with Mistress Jenny, I went offline after I had caught up with Mistress Jenny.

I returned at night. Mistress, Flo and Sun were present and we decided to play a Skipee first. As Sun doesn’t play, she watched. While we played I dressed Sun so that she has something nice for our party Friday night. We had already fixed a theme.
While we played it became quite full, Alessi and Ebony joined us and later also Argi. And I noticed that Sun hasn’t been marked yet. Hence we went to our dngeon after the game (Flo won it by the way) to get our pet Sun marked properly.

It had already bcome late – as it often does when you have fun. Flo had left to bed first, then Sun .. and Ebony crashed. We went to our club and asked slave Holly and Alessi to dance for us. Mistress Jenny and I enjoyed the view with Argi. That was a nice way to spend more time together until it was time for us all to retreat to bed.

Friday, October 22nd, Mistress Jenny and I met in the afternoon. We exchanged our news, then we discussed what to wear for our party. We had fixed a theme the day before: “It’s Friday again, it’s party. Starbright and Diomita have turned 5000 days old. And Mistress Jenny and Diomita are going to celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary. To celebrate these events, please dress for your own (fetish) wedding or for attending a (fetish) wedding – or come just as you are. Dj Virgo is spinning the tunes.”

First Mistress wanted to wear a black latex gown, but then decided against it as it is hard to dance in it. You might be suprised, but even in SL you need fitting clothes for dancing. She decided for a black latex suit and after some trying out I decided to wear a white short latex dress. Mistress also selected what I would wear on Sunday, our wedding anniversary. But back to Friday – Mistress wanted something particular, another hairstyle for me and we went to a hairstylist – et voilà, I ogt a new style. Mistress likes it a lot – and so do it.
Once we were all set for the night we went to Heavy Bondage Club and later to Puerto Esclava and just chatted together. Incredible – 13 years.

Our party night began with a surprise. Sun had prepared our dance floor with the profile pictures of Mistress Jenny and me and a sign “Love you more”. Sun had met Mistress in the late afternoon and had heard about our upcoming anniversary. She wanted to make us a present but she needed my permission to spend money – poor Sun. Looking for an alternative she decorated our dancefloor. And that was really an unexpected present. Thank you very much, Sun!

Our Friday night was very relaxed, we had fun dancing to great music provided by Virgo. As I wrote often already in this blog the Friday night party is a fixed date in my real life.

The party ended quite early as many of us Europeans were tired and Mistress Jenny and I wanted to have a bit time for ourselves before bed. We danced on our rooftop and we took a few couple pictures at Mistress’ throne to celebrate the start of our anniversary weekend.

Simploring 2021 (32) Otter Lake

I had a bit of time for a simploring tour on Tuesday, October 19th. I picked Otter Lake from scoop.it SL Destinations, as the picture with the entry looked promising and I wanted to visit an Autumn sim. It was the last time that I could select a destination from Annie Brightstar (anniebrightstar)’s SL Destinations, as Annie announced that she finishes her great work. Thank you for your great service over all these years, Annie!

Back to Otter Lake: “You just otta see Otter Lake nestled in between the mountains. Rezz a boat by the boat house, go fishing in the lake, drop by Otty’s cafe where you can sit relax and have a coffee.” (taken from the landmark description).

The landing point is on a pier next to a water airplane. I zoomed out first to get an overview. Otter Lake is a village or small twon somewhere in Canda. It is embedded into a mountain sim surround and it is located on the shore of a see. A road leads through the village and over a bridge to the other side of the lake. The road vanishes into tunnels at both ends. And as it is Autumn the trees glow in all colours – a scenery that I really love.

Otter Lake is a homestead, rated general, owned and disigned by sharon Hinterland: “My passions are shopping, listening to music, photography and modelling. I also really like to create landscaping and decorating“

Actually I had visited the “otter lake region” back in 2019 and I was excited and impressed about it (read here). Did I pick it as the name sounded familiar? It makes no difference as Otter Lake is very different from otter lake region that I visited in 2019. But again it is a masterpiece in design and fun to explore.

I began my simploring at the landing point. There’s a habourmaster building which is fully furnished, a tank to fuel the water airplane, a boathouse and a diner. The scene is livened up with a few static figures. The landing spot is quite picturesque and I stayed there for a while taking pictures with several environment settings. It did remind me a lot of my visits to the North-East of the US.

I left the landing point and walked along the road. On the other side of the road is a residental house. The door was closed, hence I didn’t look into it, but I could see that it is furnished. Next to it is a police station, a chapel and a garage & gas station. It all looks perfect, a quiet small town along a road in a beautiful fall setting.

I walked further along the road and came to a sawmill, obviously the main employer in this town and to a bar with a sportscar parked in front of it. The bar is worth a visit as it is furnished and decorated with love for the detail.

The road ended in a tunnel and I walked back and over the bridge to the other side of the lake. Right behind of the bridge is Otty’s café. I took a short break there while overlooking the lake. There’s not much more to see … just another residential house on an island in the lake. The island is connected with a small bridge – and the residential house is fully furnished. Have a look inside.

What impressed me most was that I felt like visiting the North East of America. I had many of these views in real life and the beauty of the landscape in Autumn is really hard to describe. If you have fairly good weather, it is just a dream – a dream we can live in Second Life. I really enjoyed my visit to Otter Lake!

Diary 2021 (141) October 19th/20th Mistress Jenny back home

Tuesday, October 19th, I went inworld again several times during the day. I roamed around, had two failed roleplays, then I decided to use my time for a simploring tour – and it was a nice one. I enjoyed exploring a new sim and immersed into another world. Just great.

In the afternoon I met with Mistress Jenny for about 15 minutes. Her connection was and she had to enjoy her vacation. Hence we just caught up with our mutal news, then Jenny went off again.

I returned inworld at night. Mistress Jenny, Sun and Flo were present and after we caught up with everybody’s news and had our hugs, Mistress, Flo and I played a round of Skipee, Flo won again *winks*. Sun and later also Alessi watched us.
We went to Psi’s realm where slave Holly joined us when she came inworld.
Our Flo had had some strange visions lately, seeing a black hooded woman following her or crossing the room where we were. It seemed that we had to find a therapy. The most simple therapy would be to simply restrict her view. And as Flo hadn’t yet have the RemVision experience, I bought one for her and I set it up with Flo that night. So her absent view with the red lenses in the picture of that night are due to the RemVision and the 1st slideshow she watched.

Mistress Jenny had to leave to enjoy her last vacation day and I had my hands full at Psi’s realm. Sun had forgotten one of her rules and I made slave Holly spank her bare bottom to remind her. So that was also a bit of fun, I admit.
Otherwise we had a quiet and relaxed night.

Wednesday, October 20th, was another day I spent with quite some time inworld, often idling and doing other things in RL. I had a continuation of my blackmailing roleplay and as it looks now that will go on, slowly but steadily and developing. It will be fun – I hope.
Other than that I also spent time in RL, not pictures of the day.

At night pet Sun and Flo were present and I first dressed Sun who I had left naked and a bit tied up the night before, then we went seeing Flo, who was at the skipee table. Of course my night started relaxed with a skipee with Flo and Sun at my leash kneeling next to me. The skipee did take very long and we weren’t done yet when mistress came inworld being back from her vacation. Alessi had joined us and we all went to Carnal Intentions where we spent the rest of the night. Faye was there shortly. And after Faye Flo and Sun had left for bed, slave Holly joined us.

We spent the night chatting and catching up.

Anything else? Yes, before we went to bed, Mistress allowed me to lick her and to get my fix. She makes sure that I stay addicted and that I fall deeper and deeper. And then Mistress Jenny unlocked my sub collar and locked the slave collar on me – taking me into a red light before our wedding anniversary. I hadn’t expected that, but Mistress does as she sees fit. Mistress Jenny is back.

Art in Second Life 2021 (105) “Fusion Evolution” by Etamae

It’s been a while that I saw anything from Etamae. Last year I had quite some blogposts about Etamae and her art. I visited her Eta’s Feed Your Fetish Gallery (see my blogpost here) and her Extempore Gallery and Lounge (read here). I saw her contribution to the joined exhibition of April 2020 at La Maison d’Aneli (read here). I saw her “little boxes” at Hannington Art Foundation (read here), her “Memories of a Foreign Reality” at Itakos Project Art Gallery (read here) and in January 2021 I saw her exhibition “Waves of Silence” at DixMix Gallery. (read here).

Etamae is in Second Life since January 2016. She’s from the UK and began transforming her pictures from the things she has seen and loved in Second Life into something else, in digital art in 2018. Etamae is not defined by just one style or area of art, she plays with different patterns and tries herself out in a broader spectrum of art. Like all other exhibition of Etamae “Fusion Evolution” at the DixMix Gallery is once again something new. Etamae proves her attitude to try out herself and to further develop her art.

The exhibition “Fusion Evolution” is located in the room Abby at DixMix Gallery. It consists of about a dozen partly quite large pictures. The walls of the room and the floor is kept in black. At the walls you see reflections and light effects coming from two turning pictures located the corners of the exhibtion room. This way Etamae’s pictures develop a certain dynamic as the light effects mix into the pictures around.

All pictures are very colourful, and have strong colours thus contrasting to the dark black room, they a seem to be made of different layers. Some of the layers move and change so that your get permanently a different perspective. Although you can’t really recognize it, Etamae herself is the model who’s face you can see peek through in many of the pictures. She made herself part of her art, evolving through a feast of colours and abstract forms.

Etamae showed again her ability to play with different techniques. I enjoyed my visit a lot. Her artwork is intriguing. Thank you Etamae!

Diary 2021 (140) October 17th/18th Family time

Sunday, October 17th, I spent some time inworld in the morning. Aneli Abeyante had invited me to visit La Maison d’Aneli. The current exhibition there was just set up and I could see it before the opening on October 20th. Read about the exhibtion here.
After my gallery visit I met wiht Sun at Puerto Esclava. We chatted about the night before and about her feelings and experiences. I had put Sun into a chastity belt and bra and she dislikes that, what didn’t surprise me. She thinks it is clumpsy and she can wear anything to hide it. I can understand her bad feelings about it. But then even more I like and enjoy it that she wear them for me. Before I had to leave to tend to my RL I brought Sun to Lochme and leashed her to a slave parking post. I set a hoover text above her head “Feel free to spank me” and I set a one hour timer.

October 17th: Diomita and Sun at Puerto Esclava

I was busy during the day and returned inworld at night. Flo, Sun, Alessi and slave Holly were present. I started the night with a skipee. Flo, Holly, Alessi and I played, Holly won. I used the time to talk with and relaxed. After the game we went to Psi’s realm. Domina Ansar and elena were there and we had a bit of main chat as well as we chatted among us. Mistress Jenny came inworld but lost her connection just when we all had finished our welcome rituals with her. We returned home and as Mistress didn#t show up again and after Flo and Sun had left for bed, I took Alessi and slave Holly to Carnal Intentions with me. it was a quiet and relaxed night for all.

Monday, October 18th, I was inworld several times for a short time, yet nothing happened until I returned in the afternoon. I had missed Mistress who had logged in while I wasn’t inworld. Then I ran into the one, who I began a blackmail roleplay with – she was blackmailing me. And the roleplay continued. Of course that was the moment, Mistress showed up again. She insisteted that I continued and we caught up with our news in private chat.
The roelplay developed quite exciting, I admit. Inbetween I returned home to see Mistress Jenny at least and she added a little reminder of who is owning me *winks*. Thank you, Mistress. Then she sent me to go on with the roleplay. It was a long session, in total I spent 3 hours with my tormentor.

October 18th: Mistress Jenny and Diomita at home

My night started with a game of Skipee with Flo, Sun watched us. This time I won it :-). I took Sun and Flo to carnal Intentions and we tried hard to get some mainchat running but we failed. slave Holly came inworld and she joined us.
When Mistress came inwrold we returned home as her connection was bad, but she had left when we arrived. We stayed at home for a bit and chatted. Then we moved to Psi’s realm and Mistress returned back inworld – but could join us there.
