In the “Backflash” series I select an old entry once a month and present it here. This way I force myself to browse in the archive and to fresh up a few of the many memories. For our readers the new series shall provide an insight into our Second Life without reading back the many posts and it might also give reason to browse through the archives.
I had several ideas for this month, as I wrote a longer post on the occasion of my rezzday every February. My first idea was to look 10 years back, to my 2nd anniversary in Second Life. Really a lot has changed in these 10 years. Also this blog has changed. 10 years ago I added less pictures to my posts, for sure also because the graphic in Second Life was not as good as it is nowadays. If you want to have a look, here is the link to my anniversary post in 2010.

Finally I decided to pick a post from 2016: “Valentine’s gift”. Back in February 2016 Mistress Jenny was still my Ehesklavin but the process of her full and final takeover of control was  already progressed very far. Mistress already decided about when I was allowed to dominate her (green light) and she had granted a green light some time around Valentine’s day. At that time I was intrigued by a picture of Danna Pearl that I saw on deviant art. And for the green light I wanted to take a similar picture of my then Ehesklavin. It worked out very well and the picture of that night 4 years ago is still displayed in the annex of our skybox – fond memories!

Valentine’s gift

I follow several friends on deviant art. Recently one picture of Danna Pearl caught my particular attention – Valentine’s gift timeout! It’s not just the picture itself, which is very well done, but it’s also the story behind the picture. Danna and her sister have turned the tables with their former mistress. That happened on Valentine’s day as their “Mistress thought, since they were such good girls, they deserved a bit more freedom! She even let her girls tie her up for Valentine’s day thinking it would be nice funs for a change! However things did not go as she expected…and her girls are enjoying being the dominants ones for a change.” (quote from DannaPearl’s dA).
It must have been Valentine’s day that Mistress Jenny granted a green light to me. Not that I keep her in steady bondage, but I’m in control, what a coincidence! So I got in contact with Danna and found out more about the setting of the above “Valentin’s gift timeout!” picture. I got the according gear and prepared having my timout with Jenny. The timeout was Saturday night, Feb 20th. I took my Ehesklavin to our private dungeon, put her in her chastity belt (the one with the dildo vibrators inside, which are remote controlled), helped her mounting the wall rack, and gagged her with the reading lamp. Then I sat down and enjoyed reading a book.

Adjusting the light is quite easy with pulling at Ehesklavin’s nipple clamps :-). After finishing a chapter in my book, I began a quite one sided conversation, as my Ehesklavin couldn’t really talk while holding the lamp. Ok, talking is not what a timeout is made for, but what about a bit of music? I switched on the vibrators in my Ehesklavin’s chastity belt – and her moans were lovely music for my ears. Her views were alternating between pleading to cum and plotting for revenge. Did she say “I’ll get you back”? I played with the remote …. until my property couldn’t hold back anymore and screamed out in lust, dropping the lamp on the floor.

Diary 2020 (26) February 19th/20th Under full control (I)

I spent a quiet hour in the afternoon with Mistress. When we met and had caught up with our mutal news, Mistress added the shield to my chastity belt. She said, she would open the shield again when she leaves if I behave properly. Again she was playing with her power and enjoying it – because she can. She added a vixen collar and then we went seeing slave Luci who was present and took her to Heavy Bondage Club. Mistress Jenny first had some problems with her internet which limited our time. And then Heavy Bondage Club crashed and we were logged off. We returned to our skybox and Mistress Jenny allowed me to lick her and to get my fix this way. Thank you, Mistress Jenny.

At night Mistress Jenny was again prevented from getting inworld due to her RL. slave Gwendi was present when I returned online. I took her to a big shopping event and dragged her behind my at my leash looking at all the new releases of clothes, make-up and furniture. Yet, there was nothing really tempting me to get. I had got a group message from Caged Elegance that there’s a party Wednesdays and slave Gwendi and I went there. It was not very full but we listened to great music. I saw slave Lara entering our home and summoned her to us. We stayed until the party ended at 11 PM and I had a nice chat with the dj as well as with the host. We talked about others events at Caged Elegance, about group discussions, about the icontrol chip and about people. The bdsm scene is smaller than you might think *winks*. Most likely we’ll go this party Wednesdays a bit more often if it fits into our plans.

February 19th: Diomita with slave Gwendi in our rubber dungeon room at home

slave Lara was absent when the party ended and stayed at Cage Elegance. I returned home with slave Gwendi and took her to our rubber dungeon room again. I rezzed a simple mattress with an inbuildt animated scene and enjoyed riding a dildo gag attached to slave Gwendi. She was happy to be useful, I was happy to get satisfied. While I was enjoying myself, slave slut cecy came inworld. She was still at Mesmerize Dungeon, where she had crashed the last time we saw her inworld. Unfortunately slave slut cecy logged off again just when I was about to summon her after I had recovered.

Finally I went on a simploring tour after slave Gwendi had left. I thought it would be just a quick visit, yet it took longer than I thought as it was worth the time.

Thursday, February 20th, Mistress Jenny made me wear a black latex zipper catsuit, she added the shield to the chastity belt and took me to Mature Dommes, a place she had discovered by surfing profiles in the morning. Mature Dommes is a small place for mature dommes. It’s a delightful house with some lovely rooms and a skybox dungeon. There Mistress Jenny and I caught up with our mutual news first before we explored the place. We saw a lot of really erotic pictures at the walls featuring mature dommes. Mature Dommes is a very neat and stylish place. We both really liked it.

We returned home and Mistress grounded me at home until her return at night.

At night Mistress continued where we stopped in the afternoon. She released me from the restrictions, unlocked and removed the chastity belt and asked me to wear something else. Of course it was my fault as I chose something too tempting and Mistress decided to exchange my sub collar with the Ehesklavin collar. She was clearly in a very dominant mood the whole day already. Mistress had one landmark left to discover and we went there. It turned out to be another part of the Lesbian Love Boat sim, but this one was stylish and looked as if we could go there again some time.

We went shopping next and bought the uneven bars that Mistress Jenny had enjoyed using in the afternoon. Back home Mistress began to rearrange furniture at our skybox, she asked me to remove some equipment and made it even more a place which only mirrors how we are nowdays, everything documents Mistress’ position now except the annex that I am allowed to use for green lights.
We went seeing slave Gwendi and Ann next, who both were waiting for us. Ann was wearing a new restrictive catsuit from Restrained Freedom. After we got our hugs from slave Gwendi, Mistress demanded the keys to Ann’s suit and took control of her. She kept on teasing Ann the whole night from that moment on. We went to club DeLust and stayed there for about 30 minutes.

Later we went to Caged Elegance and danced for another 30 minutes before it was time for bed. I sensed Mistress supremacy all day and night, it was one of these days where it literally radiated from her … phewwww.

Enjoying Bondage February 2020 – ropes and chastity belts

This month’s Enjoying Bondage series picture is based on a picture from Mistress Jenny and me at club Domme a Domme on February 4th. Mistress Jenny had selected a dress with the fitting name “candy dress” for me and exposed me at the club as a light punishment for missing one of her orders.
I added myself with slave Luci, slave Flo and slave Gwendi in their chastity belts that they wear since February 10th. I added a picture of Mistress Jenny and me, when she had me locked up in a arm resricting venus corset on February 3rd. And I added a picture of me and slave Gwendi also take on February 3rd.
Finally I crowned the collage with Mistress Jenny suspended in shibari ropes during the green light, that she granted on February 12th/13th.

Art in Secone Life 2020 (8) Wonderland Art Gallery & Cafe

I visited the Wonderland Art Gallery & Cafe which displays art made by second life artists Norton Lykin, Nevereux, Bryn Oh and Mistero Hifeng. In the landmark description you find the following wisdom to accompany you during your visit to the gallery “Life is a story, choose wisely how you tell it“. Wonderland Art Gallery & Cafe is owned by Norton Lykin. One room of the gallery features the art of Nevereux, the other rooms feature Norton’s own work. I found on statue from Bryn Oh and on of Mistero Hifeng.

I first came across Norton Lykin when I visited La Masion d’Aneli in November 2019 (Simploring 2019 (108) La Maison d’Aneli – November 2019). Norton is with over 12 years a SL veteran. He’s living in Denmark and took up his art activities after his retirement as a system programmer. He sees life as a journey “The ideas we have and the history we tell. Reality is not a scientific truth but as we understand it in every given moment.”
This journey of life is Norton’s theme. I saw one picture and text about it at the above mentioned exhibtion at La Maison d’Aneli and the same picture is a centerpiece of Norton’s Wonderland Art Gallery.

One room on the ground floor features the work of Nevereux, an artist who I came across twice so far. Firstly visiting doLLoureux at Daphne.Arts (read here) and secondly at La Maison d’Aneli (Simploring 2018 (97) Another joined exhibition at La Maison d’Aneli). His room at the Wonderland Gallery shows 2D and 3D art objects. Outstanding is a row of presentation boxes opened to present little art objects, from a simple glass of wine, a butterly, an earth globe (moving to Mars), a duck ….
On the other side is a 3D installation held in black consisting of globes, flowers and a fish. I won’t try to interpret, I just enjoyed the forms and colours and the row of presentation boxes conjured a smile in my face as some of them are funny.

The main entrance hall and the second room on the groud floor as well as the entire 2nd floor presents Norton Lykin’s own art, showing pictures playing with colours and shadows, or little 3D scenes and some statues. At the stairway you find a large picture obviously taken at an installion of Theda Tammas named “the Womb” (I missed that).

On the second floor you also find the café, a nice place to relax or maybe to talk about the art you just saw.

Diary 2020 (25) February 17th/18th Back under Mistress’ heels

Monday, Feburary 17th, I spend an hour inworld in the afternoon. slave Luci was present and I took her to Heavy Bondage Club. After a while not just slave Luci was decorating me but also Poison Fishnet. I had some chats and simply enjoyed.

At night Angelique was inworld at home. I hadn’t seen her for a while now as she was (and still is) prevented from getting inworld as much as she used to be. Hence we had a bit to catch up. slave Gwendi and slave Luci were also present and Angelique, slave Gwendi, slave Luci and I played a round of greedy.
When we had finished Mistress Jenny was inworld as well. We went to Mesmerize Dugeon and chatted amoung us while watching the scenery. And after slave Luci and Angelique had left for bed, Lady Sidonia (Luzie Nymphea) came by.
Sidonia creates BDSM gear and furniture mostly for rubber and latex fetishists. She told me that she has almost finished a new piece of furniture, a bench with some nice restritions and kinky animations. She offered a presenation of it with slave Gwendi and thus we (and the other guests at Memerize Dungeon) got to see a nice show. slave Gwendi did well but was a bit exhausted afterwards.

After the show we went home as it was already late. Mistress and I retreated to our skybox. I had been allowed wearing the partnering collar for about a full week, hence it didn’t really suprise me that Mistress Jenny exchanged my partnering collar with the sub collar again. Nonetheless it immediately reminded me of my position and Mistress. But everyday life at Mistress feet started nicely and enjoyable as I was allowed to lick Mistress and to get my fix. February 17th: Mistress Jenny and Diomita at home

I had an intense afternoon with Mistress on Tuesday, February 18th. A few weeks ago Mistress said that she could just snip with her fingers and I would kneel for her and obey. When I met Mistress that afternoon she literally snipped her fingers. I had just given her a subhug to greet her when she ordered me to wear the thin chastity belt. I obeyed yet I looked up pleadingly to her hoping that I could convince her not to lock it. Mistress Jenny noticed my reluctance and reprimanded me not to make it worse. She would just lock it and not add the shield, yet she could add the shield any time. That said I had to kiss her boots and her butt before we went to club Domme a Domme. Mistress had pushed me deep into subspace with just some gestures and a belt around my waist. And I could sense how she enjoyed her control.
It took a while until I calmed down accepting that everything I’d say or do would make it way worse. We went on to Heavy Bondage Club and then back home as our hour in the afternoon was already over again. Mistress left some orders for me as she was absent at night. She knew that I would do exactly what she ordered and I did.

February 18th: Mistress Jenny and Ehesklavin Diomita at home and at club Domme a Domme

I spent the night with slave Gwendi. I had bought a new toilet from Lady Sidonia (Luzie Nymphea)’s store and placed it in our rubber dungeon room. slave Gwendi was the right victim for me that night to vent off after my intense afternoon with Mistress. I did not only try out the new toilet. I did (ab)use slave Gwendi as my toilet and her tongue as my paper and I enjoyed my power and control (and slave gwendi enjoyed it too *winks*).

After this little session I went to club Domme a Domme and to Mesmerize Dungeon with slave Gwendi. We chatted and enjoyed the views. We met Baroness Capelo at club Domme a Domme and Ann at Mesmerize Dungeon. And I felt a bit more relaxed again.

Simploring 2020 (15) Florence At Low Tide

In March 2019 I visited Florence Bay (Simploring 2019 (34) Florence Bay). When I looked for a destination for simploring at scoop.it SL Destinations on Saturday, February 8th, I came across Maddy Gynoid’s blog post about “Florence At Low Tide” – and the name rang a bell.

Florence Bay was a moderate homestead owned by Gnaaah Xeltentat and Tomaso Franizzi. It was originally designed, created and landscaped by Minnie Atlass. I learned in Maddy’s blogpost that Florence Bay was taken over by it’s designer Minnie Atlass in August 2019 and Minnie integrated it into her sims under the name “Soul2Soul Rapids”.

Florence At Low Tide is the new home of Gnaaah Xeltentat and Tomaso Franizzi. It has been designed and landscaped by Iska (sablina). I have visited quite some sims designed by Iska (sablina), my last visit to one of her creations was La Digue (Simploring 2019 (119) La Digue – an Autumn walk).

Florence At Low Tide – overview

Florence At Low Tide is a moderate homestead, a quiet, peaceful spot somewhere in the Mediterranean, I’d say somwhere in South France (although there’re no tides as far as I know). The landing point is at the shore that has been revealed by the the retreating water during tide. Boats are laying on the ground and some nice citizens have brought loungers and other seating opportunities to the shore.

I explored the village that really has a Mediterranean touch. A large villa with pool is close to the landing point. The houses at Florence At Low Tide are typical for the region, most of them are not furnished though. Quite close to the landing is a bar and an event area. I sat down and enjoyed the atmosphere before I walked to the lighthouse. Also on this side of FLorence At Low Tide the tide caused boats to lay on the ground. I peeked inside of a smaller hut and discovered a piano and a nice polstered lounger, hence I called it “Piano hut”

Quite outstanding for a Mediterranean setting is the big mountain in the Northeast with a high waterfall. The waterfall feeds a creek that flows into the sea. There’s a balloon hovering above of the waterfall – and you can sit in its gondola and enjoy the view from up there.

What I loved most is the area around a small church as it offers all what remembers me of my trips to South France in RL. Lavender, wine and sun flowers and the typical architecture of the houses. Just beautiful. I had the impression I almost could smell the lavender.

Florence At Low Tide is a beautiful sim, perfect for taking pictures and perfect to wind down and let your mind wander. Thank you Iska (sablina) for the design, thank you Gnaaah Xeltentat and Tomaso Franizzi for sharing your home with the public! I enjoyed my short trip to South France.

Diary 2020 (24) February 14th-16th Seeking and finding trouble

According to Mistress Jenny’s allowance my green light had to end Friday afternoon, February 14th. When I met Mistress Jenny I had to make the most of my last hour in control and I did. Mistress Jenny had changed and wore her dress and ankle ballet boots in pink now – and she wore not panties. A clear sign that she either expected what I had in mind (most likely) or that she was horny (most likely). I tied Mistress on the stand in my annex of our skybox and teased her with my tongue for almost one hour until just a touch of my tongue was enough to get her over the edge. As a intended side effect I got my fix *winks*. While I teased her I could achieve that my next green light will be longer than this one. Maybe if I work on this point I could turn …. well, let’s not think about this.

February 14th: Diomita enjoying the last hour of the green light and takes advantage of Mistress Jenny

I took Mistress from my annex to the main part of our skybox, unlocked her cuffs and collar and ended my green light. Thank you Mistress Jenny!
We went down and met with slave Luci and spent 10 minutes at Mesmerize Dungeon to wind down, then I had to leave to tend to my RL.

February 14th – Friday Night party

At night we had our Firday night party. And of course the theme was Valentine’s Day. We had fun as always starting our weekend with good music, chit-chatting, teasing and dancing.

Saturday afternoon, February 15th, I met Mistress Jenny at the Lesbian Teahouse. It was quite laggy there and hence we left and went to club Domme a Domme. We caught up and Mistress was up for some fun. We went home and dressed alike. Unfortunately the dress Mistress had in mind for the two of us, didn’t fit for me (I still have to find out why) and so changing took a bit longer. Then we both added our elegance collars and wrist cuffs and left the keys out before we returned to club Domme a Domme. Times have changed since our first days in Second Life when locking and tieing people up was something new and exciting for all. Nowadays it is rare that someone dares to take your keys and to tie you up – and consequently nothing happened. We went on the Heavy Bondage Club – and nothing happened there as well. Luci came by and knelt by our feet and that finished our short afternoon adventure. But it was time for our RL anyway. And we had fun, just by the little danger.

February 15th – Mistress Jenny’s and Diomita’s dangerous game: Mistress Jenny and Diomita at club Domme a Domme and at Heavy Bondage Club with slave Luci

Our night was quiet on one side and busy on the other side. We played a greedy with slave Luci and slave Gwendi and took them to Psi’s realm. Mistress was still in a playful mood and changed her hair to white, while I had changed into something domme and wore black hair. Mistress was still wearing her cuffs, I wasn’t. Mistress played with her old Mysti tool and impersonated me and the slaves. She made them ask to be chastitied until 2021 *grins. So that was fun.

February 15th: Mistress Jenny’s and Diomita in switched roles at Psi’s realm with slave Luci and slave Gwendi

At the same time I had several IMs, mostly praising my dominant outfit and Mistress and I had a conversation with T., our potential host for a short holiday together as subs. We set up a meeting for the next night. And I told slave Gwendi, that we would be off the next night.

Sunday neither Mistress nor I had time inworld during the day and at night I met with the mysterious T. Mistress Jenny joined us after a while. The roleply started slowly while T showed us her private retreat. There were some toys but really not many and I already wondered how the night would turn out. T. talked about kinky games yet she didn’t seem to dare starting any play and her place seemed ot be more for vanilla play. That all ended when T. showed us her underground. T went ahead and following her Mistress and I found ourselves trapped into a cage with no way out. T. was in charge and the atmosphere changed. She layed out her rules and forced Mistress and me to hand over the keys of our cuffs. Mistress had to strip and was fixed on a kind of an examination chair and T. ordered me to tease and lick her. Too bad that Mistress Jenny had to leave due to an early start the next day. Hence the session was shorter than T. had planned. But nonetheless Mistress Jenny and I enjoyed the roleplay a lot and appreciated to give up any control for a limited time.

When I looked for a destination for my simploring tour on Tuesday, January 28th, I came across Maddy Gynoid’s “Simtipp: Alpha Moon” on scoop.it SL Destinations.

Alpha Moon is a moderate full region owned by Zel Colton (zeldonix). Zel Colton is the owner of Colton Design, a shop offering poses and animations. Zel also offers terraforming, landscaping and sim designing. I assume that Alpha Moon is also kind of a showcase for Zel’s service – to start with Alpha Moon is a beautiful sim full of great views, nice spots to sit, cuddle and enjoy and with a lot to explore and discover.

Alpha Moon – overview

I read in Zel’s profile that he’s also involved in Bloodlines (a quite popular roleplay about vampires), but you won’t see anything of it at Alpha Moon (at least I didn’t see anything). According to Maddy Gynoid’s blogpost the Bloodline acitivities have moved to a sky platform at Alpha Moon.

Alpha Moon‘s landmark description gives away what to expect: “Nature, Woodland, Romance, Hangout, Dancing, Cuddle spot, Alpha Moon, Beach, Parks & Nature, Newcomer friendly, Outdoor, Bar, Lake, Relax, Photography Spot, 7Seas fishing, Greedy“.
Alpha Moon consists of several connected islands which are all close together. At the landing point is an area with games. A trail leads around the whole sim and I followed it.

My tour began with the old ship. You should have a look inside, it is furnished. I saw a Stonehedge circle of stones and had a look at the gazebo 1 (as there’s a second gazebo I numbered them. You find a bubble in that gazebo and you can sit in it. My next stop was a smaller hut, which I called Retreat 1 (again, there’re more buildings that invite to retreat, to sit and enjoy.

The trial led me to a pond with just beautiful views. There’re two more houses inviting you to sit as well as a lovely wooden terrace reaching out to the pond. I came to a clearing and saw some horses grazing peacfully in front of a manor. As there’s no private sign nor any other indication that you shouldn’t visit I had a peek inside. The manor is not (yet?) fully furnished but some rooms are.
Not far from the manor is the Colton Design store. It fits well into the sim design. In the center of the store is an exhibition room with pictures most probably taken at Alpha Moon. And of course you can buy poses and animations there.

I visited the Bar&Dance place and on my way to the lighthouse I found the second gazebo hidden in the forest. A great place to retreat. From there I followed the river, enjoyed more really beautiful views and came to the church. Again you should have a look inside sa it is furnished and looks quite real inside. Close to the church is a nice place for couple, a heart that you can use to cuddle while enjoying the views.

Almost at the end of my tour I came to a large outdoor event area surrounded by ruins. And before I returned to the landing point I found another 2 love nests.

Alpha Moon is a beautiful romantic place, it offers innumerable opportunities to retreat, sit and cuddle. It offers great views and perfect backgrounds to taking outdoor pictures in a almost perfect environment. I really enjoyed my visit a lot (and took many pictures). Thank you Zel Colton (zeldonix) for creating and in particular for sharing your place with the public.

Wednesday, February 12th, the day after my 12th rezzday anniversary, I took control of my Mistress. Mistress had granted a green light as a kind of a rezzday present and I intended to make the most of it again. When we met in the afternoon, I locked an elegance collar around her neck, cuffed her and took her to the Shibari cabin at Cage Elegance. I had tried out the equipment there ahead of our visit. I made Mistres Jenny strip and attached rope cuffs and a crotch rope harness. Then I suspended my property in a frame. I teased her and I fucked her hard, I had my way with her and enjoyed control and Mistress enjoyed her helplessness and her orgasm.

Before Mistress could recover after I helped her back on her feet, I took her to a large bondage bed, tied her up there and licked her to her next orgasm – and got my fix this way in addition (no picture as the pose was a bit weired). I went to club Domme a Domme with Mistress, then it was timeto tend toour RL again.

February 12th: Diomita and Mistress Jenny at the Shibari cabin at Caged Elegance

I ran late at night. Mistress Jenny was waiting for me in the annex of our skybox. We went down seeing slave Flo, slave Gwendi and Ann. Carolyn (serenis) joined us at the games area. I had still a few landmarks to kinky places, that I got from Kitty and her simploring tours. Mistress Jenny, slave Flo, Gwendi, Carolyn and I went to “Degraded factory of Pain & SLAVE Dreams & Lust” first. Kitty has already warned me that it might be a place not fitting to Mistress and my attitudes. And she was right! It was very full and laggy. People were fucking publicly or exposed tied up and suspended. The furniture was dirty and overall it was just disgusting. Not  place to stay longer than necessery.

We went to “City of Tarnburg :: MINDFUCKED Research Labs ::” next. I had met Kitty there a few days ago. To my surprise, we met dani (dani sheryffe) there, a girl that we had already tied up at one of our bondage night. We visited the club and the laboratory. The sim is about hypnosis, hence the name “Mindfucked”. It is well done and the club looks promising. But so far some equipment is still missing and hence it is not opened officially yet.

We returned home to wind down for a bit and played a round of greedy. Mara (Maralyn Corleone) visited us and accompanied us to Mesmerize Dungeon after our game. We had a nice chat and caught up with Mara, then it was bedtime for us.

I spent Thursday afternoon, February 13th, with Mistress Jenny at my feet. When she came inworld I made her wear her cuffs, locked them and gagged her with a tapegag, then I took her to club Domme a Domme to expose her kneeling as my property. We caught up with our news and went on to Heavy Bondage Club. There was more going on, Ann was there with 3 other rubber dolls and two subs approached me. One was surprised that I had my Mistress kneeling at my side *grins*. It is great to be in control and  I once again enjoyed every second of it.

At night only slave Gwendi was present beside Mistress and me. We decided to take her horse riding and we had fun teasing, fucking and taking what is ours. Afterwards we took slave Gwendi to Mesmerize Dugeon so that she could recover a little bit. Before we logged off I just had to cherish the moment and requested a footkiss from my very owned Mistress Jenny – good girl!

Simploring 2020 (13) Welcome back, Slava – Khodovarikha in Summer

Yesterday, Wednesday February 19th, I came across Khodovarikha again when scrolling through scoop.it SL Destinations. I visited this extreme lonely place back in October 2017 (see Simploring 2017 (80) Khodovarikha).

Khodovarikha (in Russian: Ходовариха) is a weather station located on the freezing Barents Sea. Remote and desolate, with a permanent population of just one man, Slava. Witness his ‘arctic limbo’ in one of the loneliest places on earth. Once Khodovarikha was a village and there are a number of buildings scattered around on the sim. The most striking is the lighthouse, built in 1933 and decommissioned in 1996. It is made of timber, which Slava is cannibalising for firewood, and sits high up on a raised section of the land.

Serene Footman, who has a passion for unknown, strange and outstanding places, had brought Khodovarikha alive in Second Life and gathered a lot of information about it so that we could get an impression of it – and not only by reading about it in his blog (read here) and watching a video but also by exploring it in Second Life and thus getting a feeling for the place. That all was back in 2017 and as Serene’s places are temporar and stay about one month (some stay longer, some shorter) Khodovarikha is gone for more than 2 years now.

Welcome back, Slava – Serene Footman has reopened Khodovarikha on Saturday, February 15th. The first Khodovarikha was set up in Winter, the one we can see now is giving us an impression of it during Summer. In the above mentioned video we see that Khodovarikha is a real mess. Serene writes in his new blogpost: “the windswept sand is littered with barrels and crates, as well as miscellaneous bits of rusty salvage. I have often wondered about those barrels – why are there so many of them, and why are they left lying around, quite literally, everywhere … I have wanted to design a summer version of Khodovarikha ever since closing the sim in December 2017.”

When creating Khodovarikha in Summer, Serene added a lot of life, in particular birds, many many birds and thus the place is full of life. As opposed to the first place, the lighthouse is not working anymore this time (like in reality). Serene has found more information about Khodovarikha, in particular he learned that the lighthouse was also used as a place for fun and sports back when Khodovarikha was still a village with at least some more inhabitants and even children. That is why Serene installed a zip line from the top of the lighthouse to the ground – and provides the fun for us visitors as well!

There’s really a lot to see, explore and to discover at Khodovarikha. I started my visit with exploring the “new” abandoned house close to the lighthouse. Yes, as described by Serene and as could be expected it is a whole mess inside. I sat down close by and enjoyed the strange atmosphere. All over the sim you find places to sit, just that you can breath in the atmosphere of the place. And birds, birds, birds. They have taken over Khodovarikha.

Of course I climbed up to the top of the lighthouse. At one level on your way up you can watch a slideshow with pictures of the real Khodovarikha. Using the zip line is fun by the way.

Did I already mention the many birds? The are also noisy (don’t forget to turn your sound on). One larger colony of them is by the water where they have occupied the rocks. Another colony occupied a small pond. I didn’t change the windlight. This ensures that the place still looks not inviting but facinating in its depressiveness despite of all the birds and the corners where you can blind out all the barrels and garbage spread all over of the sim.

I visited Ustin’s house as well as Slava main living house. I don’t remember the kitchen in the 1st Khodovarikha, but it caught my attention this time. What a mess! It’s hard to believe that someone can live with such a mess (and dirt).

I also can’t remember that there was a pier and a boat in the 1st Khodovarikha. And for sure Khodovarikha offers may more opportunities to sit and watch this time. That makes sense as it is Summer but on the other hand I can’t imagine that Slava would clean up the place in Winter and bring all the stools and sofas back into his storage garage *winks*.

Finally I played a bit with the windlight and created a sunnier Summer day. This changed the atmosphere a lot! It swept away the melancholy on one side, on the other side the mess and all the garbage are more disturbing the peace.

If you want to visit yourself, you shouldn’t wait to long with a visit as Khodovarika will only stay available for a few weeks.
