Simploring 2019 (38) Illicit Sculpture

I came across Illicit Sculpture by scoop.it SL Destinations once again. Illicit Sculpture is a new gallery space in Second Life owned by Sweet Bliss (evedelombre), she is also the curator and the first exhibition is about her art.

illicit Sculpture – the entrance to the gallery

You can grab an information notecard at the entrance of the gallery. In It you find more about Sweet Bliss and her intentions with the gallery. It touched me, because if shows how important Second Life and it’s possibilities is for some of it’s residents.

illicit Sculpture – Exhibition catalouge

I first joined Second Life back in 2007 as Morbid Emor. Since then I have had various incarnations in this wonderful pixel-filled world. Second Life has been a lifeline to me at many points over the past 12 years. I am disabled, queer and mentally ill and Second Life enables me to be and to experience things in a totally unique way free from real world restrictions.
This current endeavour, the Illicit Sculpture Gallery, is purely to enable me and others like me to express ourselves free from the constraints of the “real world”. I would never be in a position to own my own art gallery in real life.
The gallery aims to be free for all and will be maintained via any donations received to pay for Linden Lab fees. Thank you very much for your interest in the gallery. If you are an artist who would like to exhibit your work, please contact the gallery

Defiant (acrylic on canvas) (upper left) / Disdain (mixed media) (upper middle) / Untitled (monotype print) (lower left) / Loss (acrylic on canvas) (lower middle) / Journey (digital photography) (lower right) / Self-Portrait (digital 3D imagery) (right side)

Going further inside there’s adesk where you can donate and where you can grab a catalogue. The catalogue explains the background of each picture. It’s a restrospective of Sweet’s last 12 years, an achknowledgement of the supportshe received with the virtual world of Second Life
Her art is impressing, comprises different styles and techniques, and the texts provided by the catalogue gives each piece a particular meaning.

illicit Sculpture – Sweet Bliss: A Dangerous Dozen

The exhibtion is opened until April 19th.

Thank you Sweet for providing the place for the art. Good Luck with the new gallery!

Simploring 2019 (37) Second Life Blue by WuWai Chun

Recently I visited Michiel Bechir’s exhibition at Lyric Art Gallery (read here). He gave me an hint and pointed me to an exhibition at LA Gallery called Second Life Blue – and I went there Sunday, March 17th.

Impressions of “Second Life Blue” by WuWai Chun (1)

The exhibition “Second Life Blue” by WuWai Chun is located on the 2nd floor of the gallery. You enter the exhibition through a vestibule with an explanatory text about the pictures and about a charity organisation named Feed a smile, Live and Learn in Kenya”.
When you click on the picture a menu comes up. Select “Info” and you will see where the picture was taken and get a link to Flickr with the rawcap and more information. You can also buy the exhibited pictures. All proceeds from the sale of images go 100 % to the NGO “Feed a smile, Live and Learn in Kenya

Impressions of “Second Life Blue” by WuWai Chun (2)

In the vestibul are 3 pictures, 2 monochrome and 1 coloured picture. The exhibition “Second Life Blue” itself starts in the next room and contains 12 pictures. As the name implies the exhibition area is submerged in dark blue light and the pictures are also blue-ish. All show art (the one on the poster is from Mistero Hifeng), people or landscapes. The images are processed from snapshots taken in Second Life and as described before you can look up where the rawcap was taken and you can see the rawcap itself.

Impressions of “Second Life Blue” by WuWai Chun (3)

No surprise that the artist, WuWai Chun, describes herself as a creative reporter in Second Life. The exhibition is a fitting selection of pictures and each of them invites you to take a closer look at it. I appreciated that WuWai gave away the places itself and that you could see the difference between the rawcap and the artful result. My personal favourite was nonetheless a monochrome (unprocessed) picture exhibited in the vestibule, showing a girl standing more or less puzzled in front of an urinal.

Thank you WuWai for the nice collection of your images and thank you Fuyuko ‘冬子’ Amano (wintergeist) for providing the LA gallery.

Simploring 2019 (36) Authors Point

Saturday, March 16th, I picked Authors Point from scoop.it SL Destinations for my simploring tour.
Authors point is an adult homestead, owned by Weed Bombastic. It consists of two connected islands, both of them having steep cliffs and rocks and a plain plateau. Several residential homes are arranged around the islands on the sea level like satellites.

Authors Point – overview

The two islands are quite different. The plateau of the island, where you land, is dominated by grassland which glows golden like in autumn. Besides a residential home, that is open to the public, there’s not much else on the plateau, just a wind mill and some single trees. The place is great for taking picures.

Impressions of Authors Point (1) – around the landing point

I went down to the sea level and had a look at the different residential homes. Some of them were rented out at the time of my visit, some were available. They all have access the to sea and their architecture is interesting, they have interlaced levels and most of them have 2 and more stories.

Impressions of Authors Point (2) – some houses that are available for rent

The plateau of the other island is occupied by kind of a fantasy world. The trees and flowers glow in strong colours, in pink and blue and green. There’re paths and several opportunities to sit and cuddle. I liked in particular a tree, which was decorated with several books, on its base I could sit down and read.

Impressions of Authors Point (3) – the “Fantasy”-plateau

At one side the two islands are connected on the sea level by a dark gravel beach. Although this side of Authors point looks a bit inhospitable it offers some scenic views and a campfire place.

Impressions of Authors Point (4)

I ended my visit where I began it, on the first island’s plateau. On an intermediate level between the plateau and the sea level I found a piano placed admist the grassland overlooking the sea.

Impressions of Authors Point (5)

I can’t judge about Authors Point‘s community but the two islands offer nice public spots and great views. In particular the golden shimmering grassland plateau is impressive. And the those who tend more to fantasy will enjoy the other island’s plateau. I liked it’s colourfulness. Thank you, Weed Bombastic for sharing Authors Point with the public.

Simploring 2019 (35) Ukivok

On March 24th Serene Footman and Jade Koltai opened their newest sim named Ukivok. And again they take us to a place far away, a place I never heard of before, a place still exsistent but forgotten and abandoned. Ukivok is located on King Island, an island in the Bering Sea, around 64 km off the Alaskan coast, a rocky island that it just 2,5km long and 2,2km wide. It was once home for about 200 Inupiat, who lived there during the Winter months particularly for hunting and fishing on the ice. Since 1970 Ukivok is abandoned, but the stilt houses of the village are still there.

Impressions of Ukivok (1) – overview and landing point

Before you visit Ukivok, I strongly recommend that you visit Serene and Jade’s website and read the blog post about Ukivok: “Ukivok, and the People of the Sea“. Serene has collected a lot of information about Ukivok and the Inupiat, pictures of Ukivok and videos and some background information regarding how the Inupiat lived there, about their traditions as well as about why Ukivok was abandoned finally.

Impressions of Ukivok (2) – at the landing point

Ukivok in Second Life gave me an impression of the village in reality. There once were 2 larger buildings, a school and a church. The school does still exsist while the church has fallen apart. In SL you’ll find both buildings. High above the village there’s a statue of Christ the King, the Inupiat (they call themselves Aseuluk) were Catholics and this statue is also there in reality.

Impressions of Ukivok (3) – exploring the village / old school house (lower right)

In Ukivok in Second Life you’ll can also see an “Alaskan Stonehedge”, a completely natural group of single rocks and this is once again a feature of the real King Island. Last but not least the Inupiat had a ropeway to transport goods from or to the sea level. In Second life this ropeway is a bit longer, actually it is a zipline and added just for fun.

Impressions of Ukivok (4) – exploring the village / old church (lower right)

Walking through Ukivak is a challenge even in Second Life, but exploring in the virtual world is safe, you won’t get hurt, even when you fall. You have to look out how to get from one level of the village to the next, there are stairs and ladders. The small podests in from of half brocken houses offer a lot of opportunities to sit and enjoy, to listen to the sound of the many birds, which are the main inhabitants of Ukivok nowadays, or to simply inhale the particular atmosphere of this place.

Impressions of Ukivok (5) – statue of Christ the King, “Alaskan Stonehedge”, at the zipline

Impressions of Ukivok (6) – Diomita having fun sliding down the zipline / more impressions

I mainly used my personal standard windlight setting (Annan Adored Realistic Ambient) but I doesn’t reflect the uniqueness of Ukivok, the cold and the loneliness, well enough. I played a bit with other settings and added a few of these experimental pictures.

Ukivok – playing with the windlight settings

The blogpost about Ukivok is very instructive and being able to visit the village right after reading is an experience that you can only have in a virtual world like Second Life. Thank you Serene and Jade, you really make use of the possibilities of SL. Very impressive once again!

Simploring 2019 (34) Florence Bay

Thursday, March 14th, I visited Florence Bay together with Angelique. It was nice to have Angelique with me on my tour. I had the landmark on my list of places for a while already since I read Inara Pey’s blog post “A rendezvous with Florence Bay in Second Life” back in September 2018. Just a few days before I finally went visiting, Florence Bay was also listed again in scoop.it SL Destinations.

Florence Bay – overview

Florence Bay is a (moderate) homestead owned by Gnaaah Xeltentat and Tomaso Franizzi. It was originally designed, created and landscaped by Minnie Atlass. Florence Bay is a rocky island with dark gravel shores formed in the shape of a horse shoe.
The landing is at a pier close to a lighthouse at one end of the horse shoe. Angelique and I searched a way from there to the houses we could see from the landing pier but there’s no path. Hence we had to climb and search our own way.
We first went to the lighthouse and then back, climbed up the rocks and visited the cafe, from which you have a nice overlook over the bay. We both wondered how the guests may reach the cafe.

Impressions of Florence Bay (1) – around the landing pier

Quite close to the landing is another curiosity – a garage with car, but there’re no streets on the whole island. From the garage you can walk on the top of the rocks along the whole island and make side trips to the shore. But don’t expect too many paths. There’re stairs from the shore to the rim of the rocks at some places though.

Impressions of Florence Bay (2)

Angelique and I visited the chapel which had another curiosity in stock for us, as there’s no altar but a buddha statue inside of it. We went to the raft with a tent and a sail, that is nearby. And we had fun sitting on a bench that is in front of two funny birds who seemingly talked with us.

Impressions of Florence Bay (3)

Florence Bay has two private residences, those of Gnaaah Xeltentat and Tomaso Franizzi and you’re kindly asked to respect the privacy there. Gnaaah confirmed to me later, when I had the opportunity to talk with him, that the rest of Florence Bay is public.
Florence Bay offers a lot of beautiful views and places to cuddle and enjoy And Angelique and I enjoyed exploring as well as trying out some of the places to sit and cuddle. There’s a lot of nature and animals like birds, seals, deers and many other who live peacefully here. And of course I took many pictures.

Impressions of Florence Bay (4)

We ended our visit with a long stay on the cuddle pier just below of one of the private houses. A seal was watching us and a few other seals were sunbathing close by.

Impressions of Florence Bay (5)

Florence Bay is a peaceful place to retreat to. It’s once again a personal dreamworld, and we could sense the love and the passion that went into it’s creation. I appreciate a lot that Gnaaah Xeltentat and Tomaso Franizzi share their world with the public. Thank you!
And the above mentioned curiosities just make Florence Bay a bit more unique and outstanding.

Simploring 2019 (33) Provincial Life and High Rock

Inspired by scoop.it SL Destinations and by Inara Pey’s blogpost “A Provincial Life in Second Life” I made a simploring tour to Provincial Life.

Provincial Life is a (moderate) homestead owned by Hania Amidst (amberfff). In the landmark description Hania wrote about it:
The quiet simple life for me. Lots of little photo ops. and connected to High Rock for extended exploration. Please be respectful and have fun.

Provincial Life, High Rock and Provincial Life too – overview

In fact I didn’t just visit Provincial Life but also High Rock and Provincial Life too, different plots of one and the same homestead. I didn’t go to the 2nd Island on this homestead as it is obviously private.

Provincial Life is rural, beautiful and and offers wonderful views with many opportunities to take pictures. Close to the landing is a small house, fully furnished and sort of a spontaneous event area with a truck which loading area is used as a stage. Wild horses graze peacefully not only here but on the whole Island, an old rusted tractor is used to adverstise a farmer market, cats, dogs and other pets roam around.

Impressions of Provincial Life

Not far from the house is a nice spot at the shore to sit and mediate and a cosy hut, where you can just enjoy the environment and cuddle. Walking along the path to the inner island you get to another lovely small house, furnished and decorated, surrounded by grasland and grazing horses.

The other part of the island is named “High Rock”. No surprise, that it is dominated by a high rock, which is painted with graffiti, natives, a rainbow, hearts and other pictures. Below of it is a nice pond, more places to relax and sit and chat. I walked up the rock and the view from there down is just beautiful. There’re again several places to sit and to cuddle.

Impressions of High Rock (1)

Walking back and in another direction I came to a gazebo. Do I need to mention that it is furnished and offers lovely seats? *winks*. And nearby I met a grizzly. Thank god, it’s Second Life and I could even take a picture of me with the grizzly.

Impressions of High Rock (2)

Nearby is another beach. It belongs to Provincial Life too. I enjoy sitting there, took some more pictures and walked over to the house overlooking the beach. There’re sheeps grazing …. and they don’t mind that a group of grizzlies watch them. I didn’t go inside of the house, as it does look private.

Impressions of Provincial Life Too

Provincial Life and High Rock is a nice place for exploring and for taking pictures. It felt like a short vacation for me, it radiates peace and sereneness and is simply fun.

Thank you, Hania Amidst (amberfff), for sharing your place with the public. I enjoyed!

Simploring 2019 (32) Salt Water

I came across Salt Water following Inara Pey’s “Living in a Modemworld” blog and read her post “A dip into Salt Water in Second Life“.

“The cure for anything is Salt Water — in one form or another, sweat, tears or the Salt Sea.”
Beach, Sunset, Couples, Mexico, Belize Mayan Ruins and Roatan. Sim and homes are open to everyone.
is what you find in the landmark profile. Salt Water is owned by Kye (Kyevaiy)

Salt Water

The (adult) homestead has been designed and created by Tippy Wingtip. Kye wrote in her profile that Tippy completed her sim based on the photographs she got from Kye take at her trips to Mexico, Belize and Roatan.

Impressions of Salt Water (1)

The landing is on a rocky high plateau with Aztec ruins. Angelique accompanied me on my visit to Salt Water. We first enjoyed the view from the high plateau to the beaches and the shore and to the rain forest below, then we went exploring.
Salt Water is just beautiful, a paradise to enjoy and a great place to take pictures. On our way to the beach we came along some waterfalls and we saw a nice event and dance area. We walked along wooden paths at the beach and went into the 2 houses at Salt Water. At one, I met Kye and we had a nice chat. She once again confirmed that also the houses are public, she has a skybox as her private retreat. She also told me that Salt Water was opened to the public just recently.

Impressions of Salt Water (2)

A smaller island can be accessed by a bridge built of a tree. I found the rests of an old temple almost fully hidden by trees and plants. Not only here you also find several places to rest, to cuddle, to sit, to dance or to just enjoy togetherness with a loved one.

Impressions of Salt Water (3)

The nature and the whole set-up of Salt Water is a bit different to what I saw so far in Second Life. The rain forest, the Aztec ruins, the beaches, the paths, everything fits together and forms this little paradies. I haven’t ever been to Mexcio, Belize or Roatan but I’m pretty sure that Kye must feel like being in her own personal paradise when she spends time in Salt Water.

Impressions of Salt Water (4)

Thank you Kye (Kyevaiy) for providing and sharing your place with the public! Thank you Tippy Wingtip for designing. I really enjoyed my visit to Salt Water.

Simploring 2019 (31) Quebec City

My simploring tour on Friday, March 8th, brought me to “Quebec City / where art & music lives (in the Canadian Spring)“. I came across it by looking up scoop.it SL Destinations.

Quebec City is a moderate sim, owned by a group named “PSY CITY citizen” which was founded by Louise Françoise de Dampierre (felizitas barbosa). I assume that Louise owns Quebec City. The landing point is in the middle of a crossing. Looking around there’s the fire department, a drive-in movie theatre, and a dead end road leading to the coast. In the background you see the typcial mix of highrise houses and lower houses. Quebec City is not dirty, yet it isn’t neat and clean neither, just as you’d expect it.

Impressions of Quebec City (1) – around the landing point and at the shore (lower right)

I first went to the coast and the pier with the motor yacht. There’s also a waterplane and a submarine. I admit it made me smile seeing the lobster sign of Nantucket, that I have seen in several sims already. We’re in Canda, in the French part of Canada. Of course, there’s lobster in Canada, but for sure not in Nantucket *winks*. I loved the dead shark hanging at the pier. The poor fish has even a name: Bruce.

Impressions of Quebec City (2) – at the shore, Diomita meets the shark Bruce (upper left)

Walking back from the shore, I first walked up and down the the street with the open air drive-in movie theatre. Besides the fire department, there’s a police station right across it. On the other side is a gas station, a dinner and an old residential home. This home is private. And as Louise was present and inside, I assume that it is her private home. Across the street of her home is the park of Quebec City, a little oasis in the town. If you blind out the highrise buildings in the background, you could imagine being in pure nature.

Impressions of Quebec City (3) – exploring the town: Police department (upper left), gas station and diner (upper right), residential home of Louise (lower left) and city park (lower right)

I continued exploring the town and found a night club named “Le Lotus Bleu”, I saw a patisserie, a shop for records, a fashion shop and a museum “Musée des Beaux Arts”. I visited the Zoo. Quebec City offers what you’d expect from a larger town. Did I mention that the street signs are French?

Impressions of Quebec City (4) – exploring the town: “Le Louts Bleu” exterior and interior (upper pictures), the zoo (lower left) and inside the “Musée des Beaux Arts” (lower right)

My next stop was the hotel. When you enter it, it really feels like the lobby of a hotel that could be anywhere in the world, a reception, a few chairs, clocks showing the time of New York, Paris and Baghdad. A luggage cart with some suitcases stands in the middle of the room. At the reception is a wall with room keys, some pictures decorate the walls and at the end of the entrance hall is an elevator.

Impressions of Quebec City (5) – exploring the town: The hotel (upper left), the entrance hall with the reception (upper right), the gentleman lounge (lower left) and FIXPOINT PHOTO Agency & Studio (lower right)

The elevator leads up to the gentleman lounge, which offers a bar, coosy chairs, billard, a piano … and two intimate rooms upstairs, one named “Dungeon” and one named “Red Room”. No wonder that I of all people found these rooms in Quebec City! The Dungeon itself was empty though, but had a nice bathroom and the Red Room was also more or less empty. Both are either not yet installed or there’s a new usage planned for them.
After visiting the hotel I walked to FIXPOINT PHOTO Agency & Studio. In Louise’s picks I found that they offer high quality model photo shootings.

I further explored the town and took a few more pictures. I recommend visiting the small chapel at the shore, it’s really lovely inside. I also discovered the underworld ot Quebec City. At some points you can enter the sewers. Last but not least I stopped by the diner once again. There’s a sign welcoming you to “Psy City”. Is Quebec City also named “Psy City”? I have no idea, and I didn’t find anything fitting on the internet.

I

Impressions of Quebec City (6) – exploring the town: The Chapel (upper left), record store and fashion shop (upper right), in the underworld of Quebec City (lower left) and “Welcome to Psy City” (lower right)

Quebec City is worth a visit, a little piece of France in North America. The town offers a lot of what you’d expect and is a great background for roleplaying as well as for taking pictures. I enjoyed exploring it. Thank you, Louise Françoise de Dampierre (felizitas barbosa) for providing this place to us all!

Simploring 2019 (30) Elevate Femdom Lounge & Spa 2019 – “a trip to india”

On March 5th, I visited “Elevate Femdom“, a landmark I got from Ally (ally259), who recommended a visit. Elevate Femdom, or with it’s full name Elevate Femdom Lounge & Spa 2019 – “a trip to india”, is described in the landmark profile as:
Set in an exquisite Indian themed venue, Elevate Femdom Lounge & Spa offers a truly unique Female Led BDSM experience.” and tagged with “Mistress, sub, slave, Domme, Fetish, Bondage, domination, submission, dancing, live music, Femdom, Spa, Pool, event, fetish club“.
Of course it is an adult place. They host regular events including discussions, workshops, art exhibitions, fetish parties and banquets. Elevate Femdom is owned by mynx (mispixl) and her Mistress wife Eva Burroughs (evangelinaburroughs).

The landing point is in a seperate welcome pavilion, where you can get a notecard with some background information about Elevate Femdom and a notecard with the simrules. I recommend reading the rules, although they are quite simple considering that it is a femdom place and everybody is asked behave accordingly.

Overview – Elevate Femdom Lounge & Spa 2019 – “a trip to india”

At the time I visited, mynx (mispixl) and Eva Burroughs (evangelinaburroughs) and quite some other guests were present, amoung who were the sim manager Lethra Nyx (crazysad1stlady), the house slave Meldoran and the head barman and event host Marcas (marcasalan). Eva Burroughs kindly asked Marcas (marcasalan) to offer me a tour, which Marcas did. He was very kind, led me around everywhere, answered my questions and was just perfectly well-mannered.

Marcas: May I show yoou around, Miss Diomita?
Diomita: yes
Marcas: Miss Eva and Mynx have created a beautiful new place for those of us who call Elevate home. We can start with the main house. Most recently in between sims we had a bar called Elevate Wine bar. To my right we have incorporated it into the larger sim. We host smaller more intimate events here in the bar such as impromptu dances. A big part of this is community and it’s important to have plenty of places where we can congregate in different settings. Up the stairs here is our chat area.
Diomita: The chat area quite spacious
Marcas: Yes, it’s very open, but at the same time Miss Eva, Mynx and I feel like kept it contained to retain a sense of intimacy
We entered the chat area where I was kindly welcomed and introduced to the other guests.
Marcas: This, like I said is our main chat area. A lot of our guests often come here in the mornings and chat as they’re getting ready for work RL. There is also a room to each side of this one for smaller groups or couples for a more intimate setting. This allows people a break when the main area may get more full or “rambunctious” for their mood
Diomita: yes, the booths looks more cosy
Marcas: The whole sim is loosely based on a region of India, I believe called Kemar known for its waterways
Diomita: ah, therefor the subtitle “a trip to India”
Marcas: Also we like to have an area for more formal gatherings and events and every Christmas we have a holiday banquet. Our main dining room is this way.

Elevate Femdom: The landing pavilion (upper left), the bar (upper right), the chat area (lower left) and an intimate booth (lower right)

Diomita: and there is the pool
Marcas: Yes, the pool is down this way. A couple of the peacocks get a little friendly. Although this area is wide open and has plenty of room for large groups it’s also a great place to come when you want some alone time.
Marcas: Obviously this is an adult sim and much of the furniture and accessories allow for that type of entertainment
Diomita: is there also a dungeon?
Marcas: There is no dungeon. They had something like that at the old sim, and Miss Eva and Mynx found that it wasn’t getting much use

Elevate Femdom: The banquet hall (upper left and right), the pool (lower left and right)

Diomita: so what I missed seeing then is the event area, right?
Marcas grins “I was saving that for last, Miss”
Marcas: We’re having an event there that I’ve had the privelage in taking part in the preparations. It’s this way.
Marcas: This is our events area and normally looks like a wooden pavillion. Tomorrow we’re kicking off our new monthly Coffee Shop Art series. Each month we hope to feature one artist with an exhibit event and then display their pieces in the bar for the month
Diomita: So this exhibition ends today?
Marcas: No, it begins tomorrow. We just finished setting it up this morning
Diomita: for how long will it be opened?
Marcas: In here it will just be a day or two, but my hope is to move the pieces into the bar for the next month. All items will be on sale, proceeds of their sale will go to benefit the sim and the artist
Diomita: Eta Goldsmith (etamae) is the artist?
Marcas: Yes
Diomita: Why is it only opened so short … that is unusal for an exhibtion
Marcas: The event in here will be short yes, so we can use the space for other events but the exhibit itself will still be on display in the bar for a month
Diomita: good. I didn’t come across Eta Goldsmith (etamae) so far, but I really like her art.

Dominance and Submission by Eta Goldsmith (etamae) at Elevate Femdom

Diomita: unfortunately I have to run now
Marcas: Well thank you for indulging me in showing off the place
Diomita: thank you for the tour. I really enjoyed it, Marcas
Marcas: It was a pleasure meeting you.
Diomita: is the sim European dominated?
Marcas: Between Europe and England, yes. but there is a growing contingent of us from the US and Canada. I’d say the UK has the highest population here, but that’s also where Miss Eva and Mynx are from
Diomita: I understand. Thank you again … I really have to run now
Marcas: You’re welcome and come back any time

I really enjoyed my visit and the tour. I like the concept, that Mynx (mispixl) and Eva Burroughs (evangelinaburroughs) have realised at Elevate Femdom. I enjoyed my short visit to Eta Goldsmith (etamae)’s Exhibition “Dominance and Submission”.
I was impressed by the hospitality and the politeness of everybody I met. Elevate Femdom is for sure a really nice community for everybody who’s into female domination – and doesn’t have torture and dark dungeons as their primary kink. Thank you Mynx and Eva for providing this place, and thank you for everybody involved.
And last but not least, thank you, Marcas!

Simploring 2019 (29) SH Tutti and Michiel Bechir at Lyric Art Gallery

Monday, March 4th, I visited Lyric Art Gallery to see the exhibtion of SH Tutti and Michiel Bechir. I came aross it following Inara Pey’s “Living in a Modemworld” blog where I read about her visit to the exhibition (Chalkboards and photographs in Second Life).

The Lyric Art Gallery is embedded in a modern fantasy roleplay sim called “Sea Island Modern Fantasy Roleplay”. The provided landmark leads directly to the entrance of the gallery. The gallery itself has 2 stories. On the ground floor the art of SH Tutti is exhibited, on the 2nd floor that of Michiel Bechir.

Lyric Art Gallery

I haven’t come across SH Tutti (secondhandtutti) and Michiel Bechir before. SH Tutti (secondhandtutti) is quite shortly in Second Life, she joined in September 2017. She says about herself:
I can create things whether people like them or not, it doesn’t matter, for it comes from inside me and for those willing or open to knowing me, they will see who I am through my builds, my art. Welcome to my world!
Despite her comparably short time in Second Life, she had already several exhibtions. She runs a store at the marketplace and writes a blog. The exhibtion at Lyric Art Gallery shows her chalkboard art. She took pictures from SL and processed them so that they look like being painted with chalkboard. And to make it even more evident, there’s an eraser and a piece of chalkboard at each exhibit.
The processing into chalkboard pictures provides a new persective on what we see in Second Life. I read in SH Tutti’s notecard, which you can grab at the exhibtion, that a doll, she named it Nomi, is hidden in every piece of her art. Can you see it?
Along with the 14 chalkboard pictures, three large sculptures are exhibited at Lyric Art Gallery

As opposed to SH Tutti, Michiel Bechir is quite a while in Second Life already (since 2007). Michiel art deals also with pictures taken within Second Life. He says about himself:
I have started my long virtual journey as a photographer in Second Life in 2009.
First my main motivation was to share the richness of creations of all those different sims, with all their aspects. I discovered the options offered by several photo tools, which helped me to improve the shots I captured. By editing them I try to add a personal touch and feeling.
Michiel’s pictures are impressive as the processing makes them more colourful and highlights the beauty or the original picture. It’s nice to recognize places, I’ve been to myself like Dunkirk – La Digue du Braek  or Wild Edge.

I enjoyed my visit to Lyric Art Gallery. Thank you SH Tutti and Michiel Bechir for this nice and inspiring exhibtion and thank you to those that provided the spave for the art. I assume, that’s AineMari Flanagan, who founded the group that owns “Sea Island Modern Fantasy Roleplay”.
