Simploring 2018 (91) Non-Consententacle Park

Wednesday, October 17th, Angelique gave me a notecard about “Non-Consententacle Park” recommending that I should visit it, She added that she herself had just a very short stay and doesn’t really know much about. I read the notecard: “The park is open to those who are looking for something a bit … different from most places. Hungry for some sexy capture roleplay or just some erotic tentacles? The Park is RLV active so if you have a open relay on, the monsters will get you!
The tags provided along with this description are “Tentacles, Aliens, Park, Nature, BDSM, sub/slave, sex, breeding, kidnap, rape, AFK, Mama Allpa, RLV, Toys, beast Herm, Fetish, Beach, Milk, Ivory, Dairy, Dungeon, …“.
That sounded for me a bit like Starry’s Tentacles park, which I visited earlier this year (read “Diary 2018 (24) Feb 10th – The Tentacles“)

Non-Consententacle Park – overview

When I met with Mistress Jenny Thursday afternoon, October 18th, we decided to visit Non-Consententacle Park. And as slave kelly was present, we just took her with us. Non-Consententacle Park takes the half of a full sim, rated adult of course. As we explored it on foot slave kelly was released from her hogtie. The landing looks futuristic, like the landing platform for an UFO and it surrounded by colourful plants. When we walked out of the landing we saw more strange but colourful plants. The path led us to a big very modern hall with vendors for example for the Mama Allpa and for the sin tracker and for other stuff, but also with a nice comfy meeting area.

Non-Consententacle Park – landing point and entrance hall

From there we began our way through the RLV park. What we saw was really nice. I liked the colourful plants. Some are really just decorative and I took quite some nice pictures. Mistress Jenny is more adventurous than I am and she tried out some of the tentacle fun. slave kelly was a bit desorientated when she lost us, her viewing restrictions made it hard for her – but we like her to suffer for us, poor slave.

Non-Consententacle Park – Mistress Jenny having fun / Impressions along the way

We explored the dungeon, found another nice meeting and socializing area, and then Mistress Jenny and I sat down and cuddled a bit. The environment is really inviting for it.

Non-Consententacle Park – inside the dungeon

I returned later to further explore the park and the other features of Non-Consententacle Park. I visited the the beach, the horny gorilla as well as the Cybernetic Goddess. The dungeon, we visited together, is built into a hill and on top of it is a building. I didn’t find a way to get inside and instead just used the cam to peek inside. It seems to he a laboratory.

Non-Consententacle Park – Mistress Jenny and I relaxing / slave kelly walking around desorientated

There’s a lot to discover at Non-Consententacle Park. The sim offers adult fun, in particular if you take things not too serious. What I liked most were all the colourful and exoctic plants, the fantasy. Non-Consententacle Park is also a great place for taking extraordinairy pictures.

Non-Consententacle Park is owned by Gem Parker (gem.oxygen). Thank you for sharing this fun place with the public. We enjoyed our visit!

Simploring 2018 (90) Hypercube – labyrinth of the mind

On scoop.it SL Destinations I saw a picture of “Hypercube – labyrinth of the mind“, an installation by Moki Yuitza at LEA 19. In Oema’s “Virtuality”-blog I read a short interview with Moki, then I visited it myself on Monday October 15th.

You land outside of the cube where you can grab a notecard with recommendations how to adjust the settings of your viewer, but there’re also boards explaining it. Hypercube is a maze within a cube with 3 floors, each floor contains 8 scenes, so in total there’s 24 scenes. For Moki it is “a personal journey through dreams, emotions, memories and nightmares in search of the path to the exit” and she invites the visitor to find an own story.

In most of the scenes you will see doll avatars. At the landing point you can grab a female or a male doll avatar, which you can use for your visit of Hypercube. Each scene offers two poseballs, a heart for a female pose and a star for the male pose. With these poses you can get involved into the scene yourself. I can imagine that visiting as a couple using these dolls avatars will provide another experience. I decided to visit Hypercube without using the doll Avatar.

There are two ways of exploring, either on foot or using teleport points that lead from scene to scene. The three floors are connected by a staircase in the center of the cube. Due to the transparent walls of the labyrinth and due to the many colourful light beams, that cross the cube, the scenes appear different depending on the viewing angle. Sometimes you see other scenes in the background through the transparent walls, in one scene a transparent walls seperates the two doll couple.

The 24 scenes deal with different situations of life, with love, with fear, with family, with hope and even with mortal peril. You will find scenes with large and scary monsters, monsters that seem to have sprung directly from a nightmare. You see the dolls trying to hide or to protect themselves from the monsters. Depending on your own thoughts, you will find situations of your own life expressed by the dolls.

Hypercube is creative art. By the light effects and the transparent walls every visitor gets a different view on it and makes a unique experience. In addition, the possibility to visit as a doll avatar or as a couple provides even more variations. The scenes are thoughtfully built and cover a wide range of possible interpretations, from birth to death. Hypercube is a the kind of art you can only see and experience in a virtual environment like Second Life.
Thank you Moki for this installation. I enjoyed my visit.

Simploring 2018 (89) Black Bayou Lake

When I saw the first reviews of Black Bayou Lake on scoop.it SL Destinations I knew I had to see this sim. It is the newest creation of Serene Footman and his partner Jade Koltai. Serene Footman is the creator of places like Furillen, Dunkirk – La Digue du Braek, Khodovarikha and Isle of May, all of which I visited and wrote about (read here: Furillen, Dunkirk – La Digue du Braek, Khodovarikha, Isle of May). All these sims have one thing in common: they are built according to a place in the physical world – and so is Black Bayou Lake.

Impressions of Black Bayou Lake in Second Life (1)

On Serene Footman’s website you find a detailed description about Black Bayou Lake:
Black Bayou Lake (link to wikipedia) – the inspiration for our sim – is located in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. The lake is part of an 800 acre nature reserve – there is a factsheet about it here – which seethes with wildlife: there are many species of bird, insect, reptile and fish, along with a variety of trees such as cherrybark oak, cedar elm, ash, hickories, willow oak, shortleaf pine, loblolly pine, mockernut hickory and post oak. It’s a stunning place, which attracted us because we had not yet tried designing a sim that consists mainly of water…...”

Black Bayou Lake in Second Life is a virtual interpretation of the nature reserve in the physcial world. The most outstanding feature both places have in common is a long wooden footpath that visitors can use to explore and to even walk out onto the lake. The swamp with it’s unique flora and the bare trees is another feature they share. Even some of the huts that are scattered on the sim look similar to those found in the nature reserve.

Impressions of Black Bayou Lake in Second Life (2)

I didn’t change the windlight setting that was provided. The atmosphere is very foggy and mystic, you can almost sense the humidity. I walked along the whole footpath, enjoyed the views, sat down here and there, listened to the birds singing (don’t forget to turn on the ambient sound!) and took a lot of pictures.
When I left the wooden footpath, I fall into the swamp several times. Luckily that’s not dangerous in Second Life, nonetheless you’d better watch your step.

Impressions of Black Bayou Lake in Second Life (3)

Visiting Black Bayou Lake was a great experience that I really enjoyed. I looked up a lot of information about the Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge. It did not replace a visit to it in real life, but together with some pictures of the real place it felt as if I were there. I assume just the smell and the damp heat is what I missed *winks*.

Thank you Serene Footman and Jade Koltai for sharing your creation with the public!

Simploring 2018 (88) Machinima Open Studio Project – LEA 6

I read about “Machinima Open Studio Project” at LEA 6 at scoop.it SL Destinations. Many blog posts have been published about it before. “Machinima Open Studio Project” at LEA 6 is just the newest sim. It is built by Chic Aeon. “Machinima Open Studio Project” is described as “a community resource for filmmakers and photographers. Full sim environments with careful attention to production values, LODs, flow and framerates. Full sim night city with backlot film studios; rustic town ground level. Machinima friendly. 20 min rez.

Impressions of “Machinima Open Studio Project” (1)

The landmark I grabbed led me to a town scenery, a street canyon surrounded by skyscrapers, quite a dodgy environment. I took a few pictures and searched how to leave there but there was no teleport pad and no hint. The scenery was built into a box. Finally I used the map to leave the box. Outside I saw several other boxes and spheres with different scenes, be it plain countryside or a colourful fantasy scene. All these scenes were at a level of 2.500m and I traveled to different levels and found more scenes.

Impressions of “Machinima Open Studio Project” (2)

At the 1.000m level I found an office with very helpful information about “Machinima Open Studio Project“, there’s a website and a long notecard with helpful hints for making films using Second Life. I provide this landmark with this blog post. I think that’s the official starting point for visiting “Machinima Open Studio Project“. Here you can also get a folder with all the landmarks to go directly to the scene you’re interested in – and there many different scenes!

At the office of the “Machinima Open Studio Project” you can grab a folder with all landmarks and other useful information

It’s interesting to see how you can built scenes on quite small pieces of land with a comparably small amount of prims. The scenes are not just great for making a film but also provide a great background for pictures, in particular when you play with the windlight settings and with shadows.
Being inworld more than 10 years now, I still discover new elements of Second Life. Not that I didn’t know about making films in Second Life (I did that myself a couple of years ago), but I was not aware that there’re sims like “Machinima Open Studio Project” that provide backgrounds particularly for this use. And the provided information and hints are very helpful in case that I decide to make another film some time.

Some Information about Chic Aeon (for reading click to zoom)

Thank you Chic Aeon for providing the “Machinima Open Studio Project“, and as I understood you do this for many years already. Thanks also to the Linden Endowment for the Arts program, that provides the sim for it for 3 years already.
I really enjoyed to discover and explore it.

Simploring 2018 (87) Pendle Hill

For my simploring tour on Saturday, October 6th, I picked Pendle Hill from scoop.it SL Destinations. Pendle Hill is owned and created by Lauren Bentham, who also owns Arranmore. I visited Arranmore in 2016 (read here). Pendle Hill reminded me a lot of Arranmore and you can easily recognize that both were created by the same person. The atmosphere is foggy and dark and fits into the current Halloween season, yet Pendle Hill is like Arranmore a permanent sim and open all year round, not just for Halloween.

Impression of Pendle Hill (1)

Lauren Betham writes in the notecard that you get upon entering that “Pendle Hill is a fictional sim, but the name Pendle Hill is actually a real place east of Lancashire in the north of England, and is linked to the Pendle witch trials of 1612.

Impression of Pendle Hill (2)

To fully enjoy exploring Pendle Hill you have to enable advanced lighting, enable ambient occlusion and have to enable shadows created by sun/moon and projectors. With these settings and with adding the flashlight you also get upon entering the sim, you might see objects, people, ghosts or horrifying objects in the spotlight of the flashlight that you would miss otherwise. And turn your sound on!

Impression of Pendle Hill (3)

Pendle Hill offers a lot of opportunities for taking pictures with a particular dark, foggy and scary atmosphere. Some details are obscured by the fog and the dark and only appear either in the spotlight of your flashlight or when a lightening illuminated the scenery. Many ghosts live at Pendle Hill, some of them only show their hands playing the piano or trying to grab you when you look into a mirror or walk up stairs.

Impression of Pendle Hill (4)

There’s a lot to discover at Pendle Hill and I’m sure that I still missed most of them. Thank you for creating and sharing Pendle Hill with the public, Lauren Bentham. I really enjoyed my visit a lot!

Simploring 2018 (86) The Labyrinth Experience

For my simploring tour on October 3rd I selected “The Labyrinth Experience“, an installation of Subversive Vavoom and Rhodan Kuhn at LEA 25.

The Labyrinth Experience requires a Second Life Experience to animate you, teleport you, and attach items of use to your avatar temporarily while on this sim. It is an adventure and you have search and find clues in order to get out of the Labyrinth. But it is not just the inital labyrinth where you have to find your way out. During your stay, you have to find objects that interact via left-clicking, and some that are required to find to advance to the next location/level! To start your adventure you need to click “Enter The Labyrinth” at the provided landmark to The Labyrinth Experience.

The Labyrinth Experience – Entering the first level labyrinth

The Labyrinth Experience is based on the movie Labyrinth from 1986, with David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly, directed by Jim Henson. You can see a trailer of this movie here.

I myself was not familiar with the movie and I watched the trailer and got some background information on wikipedia: “Labyrinth is a 1986 musical fantasy film directed by Jim Henson, executive-produced by George Lucas. The film revolves around 15-year-old Sarah’s (Jennifer Connelly) quest to reach the center of an enormous otherworldly maze to rescue her infant brother Toby, whom Sarah wished away to Jareth, the Goblin King (David Bowie).

Labyrinth – the film from 1986

The New York Times reported that Labyrinth had a budget of $25 million. The film was a box office disappointment, grossing $12.9 million during its U.S. theatrical run. But although it was met with a mixed critical response upon its initial release, Labyrinth has since gained a large cult following.” (excerpt from wikipedia)

The Labyrinth Experience – Impressions of the 2nd level labyrinth

I entered The Labyrinth Experience and began my adventure in the inital labyrinth, which is quite colourful decorated with glowing plants and thus offers really nice views. Once I found the exit I had to talk with two guards at the exit door and select one of two doors. I don’t know if I took the right door. It took me to another maze and from there I came to a platform that looked like one of the early video games, for sure this platform is a reference to them.

The Labyrinth Experience – more impressions

This platform wasn’t easy to leave, but somehow I made my way out ….. an fall into a tube filled with green slime and was transfered to the next level, a strange world, obviously contaminated. There were bald trees, green toxic fog, an old plant in the background, not a world you’d like to stay in for long. From there I came to a lovely ballroom, that I enjoyed exploring. First I was a bit unsure whether that’s the end of the adventure as I couldn’t find any way out, found no hint but also no sign “End”.

The Labyrinth Experience – Impressions of the ballroom

I found my way out and landed in another environment that looked a bit like after a war. But there were toys that I collected by colliding and in the middle was a container with a fully equipped children´s room. Some of the toys there work when you click them. There’s also a shelf with cuddly toys and you can bring the toys you collected by colliding to the shelf and get the toy for your inventory.

The Labyrinth Experience – some more impressions

The next level brought me to a futuristic underground station and from there to a scifi city. I had to be brave not to run away from the robot guards in this town. I found Goblin Inc. and entered their offices…. and found my way to the last level which I had to explore in mouselook and which led to the exit door.

The Labyrinth Experience – finding my way out

The exit brought me to an exhibition with some really nice pieces of art, mostly animated. This exhibtion itself was worth the effort of the the adventure before.

All levels of The Labyrinth Experience are artful and offer outstanding views and most probably a lot of details for those familiar with the film Labyrinth. I did not reveal how to get from one level to the other. You have to find out yourself. I had really fun with solving the riddles, with interacting and I enjoyed the views and took many pictures. Be sure not to miss The Labyrinth Experience.

The Labyrinth Experience – the reward at the end is a great exhibition

Many thanks to Subversive Vavoom and Rhodan Kuhn for creating The Labyrinth Experience.

Simploring 2018 (85) The Pines at Jacobs Pond

Inspired by a picture I saw on scoop.it SL Destinations  I visited “The pines at Jacobs Pond”. What caught my eye was that this sim was just set into Autumn mode showing the foliage, a season that I really like. There’re a lot of blog posts about “The pines at Jacobs Pond”, I’m by far not the first one who visited it and wrote about it. But for me it was new.

Impressions of “The Pines at Jacobs Pond” (1)

The pines at Jacobs Pond” is a family sim, a moderate homestead, owned by a group named “End of Time”, founded by Liu (liu kaos). There’s not that much to see nor to explore. “The pines at Jacobs Pond” is an American village, a village that could be anywhere in the Northeast of the US. Some stores are along the main street, a gas station, a grocery store, a laundry. Besides the stores there are many residential homes along the main street as well as parallel to it. A little food market offers regional good and, according to the seasom pumpkins. All is quite neat.
The colours of Autumn, the falling leaves are just beautiful and add to the feeling of being somewhere in the Northeast.

Impressions of “The Pines at Jacobs Pond” (2)

What else would you expect? Yes, a little stadium. In this case it is a baseball stadium and the local club plays in the Second Life Little League. On one side of the island is a fishing pond, a stable for horses, a hunting hut and you can also see some deers. That’s it. At least that’s what I saw. Nonetheless it is a small piece of paradise, normal life, a sleepy village, a place to retreat into family life, be it at night or on the weekend – and I liked it.

Impressions of “The Pines at Jacobs Pond” (3)

Did I miss anything? Yes, a church, a New England Baptist Church is missing at least for me to make “The Pines at Jacobs Pond” perfect.
Of course I took not just one picture. The foliage offers a particular atmosphere in Second Life as well as in Real Life. Thank you Liu (liu kaos) for sharing the sim with the public. It felt like a short visit to the Northeast.

Simploring 2018 (84) A new joined exhibition at La Maison d’Aneli

At La Maison d’Aneli a new joined exhibition of 5 artists has been opened on Wednesday, September 26th. It features the art of: ChrisTower Dae, Solkide Auer & Magda Schmidtzau, Kirle Adamski and Dantelicia Ethaniel. All artists have a different focus which makes the exhibition varied and enjoyable. When you enter La Maison d’Aneli you get a folder offered which contains some information about the artists. I used some of this information in my following text.

ChrisTower Dae, Solkide Auer & Magda Schmidtzau, Kirle Adamski and Dantelicia Ethaniel featured in a joined exhibition at La Maison d’Aneli

Kirle Adamski, is a selftaught artist from Denmark who started painting in 1997 and had her first exhibition in Denmark in 2000. Kirlie expresses herself in strong colours. She says that she never decides a motive before painting, there’s no plan, in the end the painting expresses herself at the time it was made. Kirlie’s paintings are in watercolour and copied from RL paintings. She had several exhibitions in RL as well as in SL.

Impressions of Kirle Adamski’s art at La Maison d’Aneli

Dantelicia Ethaniel is a French plastic artist and fashion designer in first life, Dantelicia has embraced the virtuality of Second Life almost 10 years ago. She got passionate about SL photography early on and uses it to create a bridge with traditional painting effects such as water colors or acrylic she practiced in her everyday life.

Impressions of Dantelicia Ethaniel’s art at La Maison d’Aneli

Solkide Auer tries to express his ideas through different sculptures. He started creating geometrical shapes then used more difficult techniques such as “the shade”, which gives the possibility to manipulate a unique prim in a very complex way. As a result he obtained unexpected and different shapes quite unlike the ones anyone can find around. Solkide Auer’s art has been exhibited at several galleries and museums within SL but he has also transfered his art into RL exhibitions be it printed or be it shown as 3D on monitors.

Impressions of Solkide Auer’s art at La Maison d’Aneli

At La Maison d’Aneli Solkide’s art work is part of an exhibition named “Might of Soul” that features pictures of Maddy (Magda Schmidtzau) who is a passionate phortographer in RL. In Second Life she plays with the possibilites of this virtual world and tries to convey the magic that she sees. Maddy had already quite a lot exhibitions within SL. Maddy’s pictures exhibitied at La Maison d’Aneli are both, RL pictures and artificially processed pictures taken in Second Life. The combination of Solkide’s geometrical shapes and shades with the pictures of Maddy makes this exhibtion unique.

Impressions of Maddy’s (Magda Schmidtzau) art at La Maison d’Aneli

ChrisTower Dae is an Italian photographer. Chris shows at La Maison D’Aneli portrait pictures taken in Second Life, mainly female. The pictures impress by their perfection as well as by the facial expression. The avatars have a unique soul and the viewer can sense the emotions transfered with the portraits. Chris places the face mostly at a side of his pictures, not showing the whole head which might contribute to the facination of the portraits.

Impressions of ChrisTower Dae’s art at La Maison d’Aneli

La Maison d’Aneli is owned by Aneli Abeyante. Through her gallery she brings together all forms of creativity in RL and SL and the featured artists come from around the globe. Aneli’s intention is to “put her gallery in the service of artists, so that the world can be better, exchanges and meetings probably contribute even though it seems to be particles.
Thank you for this great joined exhibtion, Aneli. I enjoyed my visit a lot.

Simploring 2018 (83) Gregfield – Pleasure Land

For my simploring tour on Saturday, September 22nd, I picked a landmark, that Angelique gave to me the day before when we talked about my regular tours and about the beauty of some virtual environments: “Gregfield – Pleasure Land“.
The landmark description sounded promising: “TOS rule! Human avatars only! Explore and take pictures/photos in beautiful nature. Meet with friends and hang out.
Given the provided tags “Mature, young, cougar, babygirl, dad, family, mom, son, daughter, naughty sex, taboo, incest, bdsm, lesbian house” it’s also quite evident that the place is for adults only.
Gregfield is a full sim owned by Gregor Famveldt (schlips). The landing is a bit off the main island and offers some information as well as some places to sit. In addition there are boards explaining again the quite simple and almost self-evident rules. You enter the main island walking over a small bridge and at it’s end is a teleporter pad that you can use to visit the main spots more easily.

Overview Gregfield – Pleasure Land

I used the teleporter pad to get a first impression and visited all provided destinations to generate the above orientation map. There’s just one destination that’s not on this map named A-Frame. It leads to a sky sphere with a vacation home and a nice balcony from where you have a nice look into the nature that is displayed on the Sphere. The vacation home is a A-Frame house. I knew this type of houses yet I learned the term “A-Frame” when writing this post and looking for an English word.

Impressions of Gregfield (1) – Landing area (upper left) / Beach (upper right) / A-Frame (lower left and right)

Gregfield is really another beautiful and peaceful sim. After my quick tour with the teleporter pads I explored it on foot and there’re lots of nice places to sit and hang out and to enjoy. All houses are furnished and offer furniture with adult animations. Also the numerous benches, chairs, rugs and contain adult animations.

Impressions of Gregfield (2) – Bonkhouse (upper left) / Glamping tent (lower left) / Reader’s Home (upper and lower right)

Gregfield is as varied as I assumed already from the list of tags. There’s a bit of everything but it fits well into one sim. Be it for romance, for lesbians or for bdsm, you’ll find it here. The lighthouse and the open air bar and dance floor are built on a plateau and in the underground is a maze with rooms for D/s play. The entrances to the maze are hidden, one is close to the dance floor.

Impressions of Gregfield (3) – Waterfall Area (upper left) / Mountain Lodge (lower left) / Lighthouse and outdoor bar (upper right) / inside the Underground maze (lower right)

Of course I also visited the Lesbian Cottage. I like that the kinky parts of Gregfield don’t stick out on the first glance and that’s also true for the Lesbian Cottage from the outside as well as from inside.

Impressions of Gregfield (4) – Lesbian Cottage (upper and lower left) / Scenic View House (upper right) / Scenic Environment at Gregfield (lower right)

I enjoyed my visit, in particular I enjoyed the environment and the lovely views. But for sure I missed a lot of details on this first visit. Gregfield is worth a second visit. And if you seek a spot to retreat for a romantic date you’ll find an appropriate place here.
Thank you, Gregor for providing your sim to the public.

Simploring 2018 (82) Destiny Gardens

Inspired once again by scoop.it SL Destinations and the pictures published by AJ (anyajurelle) in her blog “AJ’s Second Life – Travel Guide” I had a look at Inara Pey’s blog post “Destiny Gardens in Second Life” and decided to visited Destiny Gardens.

Impressions of Destiny Gardens (1) – around the landing point

Destiny Gardens is a full, moderate sim owned by Destiny Milos and as I learned from Inara’s post it was primarily landscaped by Adalynne Romano (AdalynneReed). To put it in one word – it is just beautiful!
At the landing point are places to sit and to play chess and I discovered a sculpture created by Mistero Hifeng. During my visit I came across of some more of Mistero Hifeng’s sculptures, most of them I had seen before. They add perfectly into the beautiful environment. The landing point area, that is located on a hill, I went down to the shore and took the trail that leads you around the island and into the inside.

Impressions of Destiny Gardens (2)

I personally was overwhelmed by the views. The ground is covered by blooming wild flowers, the trees are planted thoughtfully to provide shade and to add to the composition of colours. The trails lead over all kinds of bridges that you’d expect in a garden. And there are a lot more places to stop and sit down admiring the beauty of nature, a true virtual paradise.

Impressions of Destiny Gardens (3) – around the two residential houses

Exploring Destiny Gardens you will find 2 residential homes that blend in perfectly, their roofs are covered with moss, their own gardens are neat and offer more places to sit again.

Impressions of Destiny Gardens (4)

I also found an French garden with accurate cut hedges and, what a contrast, with several buxus cut into the form of a bunny. Behind the formal garden is another patio that invites to sit down and relax.

Impressions of Destiny Gardens (5)

I spent an hour admiring Destiny Gardens and taking pictures and had a very enjoyable time. Thank you, Destiny Milos for providing your lovely place to the public.
