Simploring 2020 (2) Butter – You Butter Come Back!

I went on another short simploring tour on Christmas Day at night and visited Butter, a sim that I found once again at scoop.it SL Destinations.

Butter is a moderate homestead owned by Mona Molinaxil. Butter has it’s own homepage which contains some more information about it. Butter can offer a little bit of everything and there are no private areas.

Butter – overview

The most picturesque spot is “the docks”, a great place to take pictures and close by is a nice farmer market. Quite in the center of Butter is a large Bistro and Bar with seating both inside and outside the building.

Impressions of Butter (1) – The docks, Famers market, Bar and Bistro

The beach is nice and offers a lot of places to lay in the sun, to chill and hangout. You will find a selection of beachy furniture, a beach bar, a dance deck and even some floats and other places to sit out in the water.

Impressions of Butter (2) – The beach, Camping and Trailer park, Diomita climbing the rope

Up on the high plateau above the beach, there’s a camping site and a trailer park and if you walk a bit further you get to a farm with livestock and to a wind mill. There’s more, like a rope that you can use to get from the main island to a small island with at residential home. And certainly you will find way more nooks and spots to hang out and chill. Unfortunately my time for this simploring tour was limited to see more.

Impressions of Butter (3) – Farm with livestock, Wind mill, Residential home and Diomita chilling at a nook

Butter is a nice sim and as mentioned above it offers a bit of everything. Thank you, Mona for sharing your place publicly. I enjoyed my short visit!

Simploring 2020 (1) Northern Shore – Skärgården

For my Christmas simploring tour I picked Northern Shore from scoop.it SL Destinations. Northern Shore is a moderate full region, created and owned by Elvira Kytori. It is inspired by the place where Elvira is living in RL, the Swedish archipelago coast also known as Skärgården. Look up pictures of these little islands, these skerris in Sweden and compare it with Northern Shore in Second Life – these picturesque, neat and peaceful places do exist! It’s not just a fantasy.

Elvira Kytori is the creator of the “Trace-sims”, places I explored in 2016/2017 (read here about Summer Trace, Fall Trace, Winter Trace and Holiday Trace). Northern Shore fits into this series of places. It is just amazingly beautiful.

Impressions of Northern Shore – Skärgården (1): Around the landing point

It is great fun to wander around, to explore all the little detail of this idyll. I spent almost half an hour at the landing point as there’s so much to see. Elvira made most of the boards and signs in Swedish to capture the atmosphere and make it feel like her home. Look at the Skärgårdshandlarn. Shandlarn is Swedish for shop and you should go inside. I also recommend to have a look at the little café right opposed to the landing point. It is quite cosy inside.

Impressions of Northern Shore – Skärgården (2)

Most of the many houses at Northern Shore are decorated for the holiday season and most are furnished. It is worth to have a look inside. You can’t go inside some of the houses though. You need to ask Elvira for a group tag to do that. But it might also be that these houses are rented out, as Elvira told me after I published this post. Hence if you look for a vacation home at Skärgården  – ask her.

There are some boats at Northern Shore, they lay at piers and you can’t use them to get from one island to the other. And the other smaller boats are on the island, stored away for the Winter. But in Second Life you can fly (flying is allowed) or you can walk (like I did) or you consider the sea being frozen and can skate. Whatever you do, exploring is fun.

Impressions of Northern Shore – Skärgården (3)

Some houses look very comfortable and cosy admist the snow, a paradise for those who love to take pictures in Second Life. Also some outdoor spots invite to sit and watch. I made some pictures using the provided windlight setting. It makes Northern Shore cold and you almost begin to freeze just by the visual impression. It is snowing and you can’t look far. For other pictures I used a brighter windlight setting – Annan Adored Realisitic ambient.

Impressions of Northern Shore – Skärgården (4)

I enjoyed my visit to Nothern Shore a lot and took many pictures. Thank you Elvira for creating this peaceful sim and for sharing it publicly.

Simploring 2019 (130) Aradia

Inspired by some pictures I saw at scoop.it SL Destinations I picked “Aradia” for my simploring tour on Thursday, November 21st. Aradia is a moderate homestead owned by Drakonia Aradia (ladyonia).

Aradia – overview

The landmark description is quite romantic:

Open up your wings, and fly
to me, you better watch the
currents, open up your heart
and come to me, theres
a river,theres a steam and plenty
of air to breath. Open up your
mind, and take hold of me,
ill be the bed that you lay on,
and the food you eat

At least the first line is from a song from Mariah Carey called “Butterfly”. And there are butterflies in Aradia, butterflies that carry laterns.
At the landing point you are welcomed by a parakeet, who talks permanently wishing you a good visit and inviting you to explore the place – which I did. Aradia consists of 10 islands (if I counted right). The islands are mostly flat and green with some single trees. The landing is on the largest island, which consists of a flat part and, opposed to the others islands, also of a large rock with a green high plateau. On the high plateau is a quite large round house and a chapel overlooking Aradia. On this island you find also a beach.

Impressions of Aradia (1) around the landing point, the beach, one of the latern butterflies, the round house

Aradia offers quite some places to relax, to enjoy some nature or peace or to chill with friends. You will come across many birds, there’re deers, squirrels, sheep, peacocks and other animals who liven up the scenery.

Impressions of Aradia (2)

Quite outstanding is a big stony hand. You can make yourself comfy in the palm and take a rest. On the center island you find a large open air dance area under trees.

Impressions of Aradia (3) One of several gazebos, the palm rest, and the dance area under trees

The village consists of a few houses, which are for rent. They are partly furnished and all arranged around a center fountain. And they look just cute. It is a world of it’s own, friendly and peaceful and to some extent pure fantasy – like the butterflies carrying laterns.

Impressions of Aradia (4) the village

I ended my exploring tour on the island with the stonehedge circle of stones. Sheeps are running around on this island and admist the stones is a harp (of course I tried it out). From there I returned to the landing point.

Impressions of Aradia (5)

Aradia is a picturesque peaceful fantasy. The houses look a bit like from a Walt Disney movie for me, simply cute. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful. Aradia is a nice place to chill or to meet with a friend or loved one. Thank you Drakonia Aradia (ladyonia) for providing your sim to the public.

P.S.: Aradia has changed now – it’s Winter 🙂

Simploring 2019 (129) Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland

When I visited the current exhibition at La Maison d’Aneli (see Simploring 2019 (123) La Maison d’Aneli Holiday season 2019/2020) I came across Milly Sharple who exhibits her pictures there. Milly Sharple is an artist and photographer from the UK in real life and has always enjoyed art and artistic expression. She’s in Second Life since 2008 and was perhaps one of the pioneers in introducing fractal art to Second Life. Milly established her own gallery “Fractal Insanity – The Art of Milly Sharple“. Milly Sharple has also a passion for region design and building in Second Life and creates a yearly Winter sim called “Let it Snow!” (Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland 2019).

I hadn’t heard about it or at least I never visited “Let it Snow!” before. It was about time that I visited it. Saturday, December 14th, I went to this year’s installation “Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland“. And I didn’t regret it at all! As opposed to I spent 2 hours in this lovely and picturesque sim. It’s just awesome.

Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland – overiew

“Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!” is written in the fitting landmark profile and the tags are “Christmas, holidays, ice skating, cable cars, sledding, snowboarding, dining, dancing, ballroom, cafes, bar, photography, hangout, cosy cottages, ruins, woods, etc.” “Let it snow!” is a moderate homestead, owned and created by Milly Sharple.

The landing point is in a seperate hut. You get a list with landmarks so that you won’t miss a point of interest. I started my simploring tour at the Townsquare right next to the landing point.

Impressions of Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland (1) – Landing point and Townsquare

The Townsquare is very picturesque. All houses are decoracted outside and in the center is a gazebo where you can sit and enjoy or dance. You find dancing animations in little red hearts at many spots in “Let it Snow!

Impressions of Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland (2) – Townsquare and Winter Carousel (lower right)

There is a little Winter outdoor bar where I took a first rest. Some of the stores are furnished and decorated also inside. Did I mention already that is it snowing at “Let it snow!“? Close to the Townsquare is the Winter Carousel, another nice motif for taking pictures.

Impressions of Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland (3) – Ballroom, Rune Fortune Stone, Winter Angel Gazebo, Reader’s Retreat

I tried the Rune Fortune Stone, that provides different stones as giveaways, stones with a meaning: “This Rune is traditionally associated with protection and shelter. It’s form resembles an umbrella , and it teaches us that we must protect ourselves from negative emotions if we’re to succeed as individuals.
Let it Snow!” is a romantic Winter Wonderland, just the right place to go dancing with your loved one for example in the Ballroom or outside in the Winter Angel Gazebo. Or simply enjoy yourself and retreat to Reader’s Retreat.

Impressions of Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland (4) – Church Ruins, Winter Walk, Ice Rink, Winter bar

I visited the Church Ruins and walked through the forest (Winter Walk). For those seeking more activity there’s an Ice Rink and next to it is a Winter bar to simply watch.

Impressions of Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland (5) – Cable Cars and Toboggan slide, Winter Lodge (lower right)

In one corner of “Let it Snow!” is a small hill. You can either take a cable car or walk up on foot. Don’t miss trying the Toboggan slide, that’s fun! I also had a look into the biggest house almost in the center of “Let it Snow!“, that I named Winter Lodge. It is nicely furnished and another cosy place to sit and talk. You will find many cosy places spread all over the sim.

Besides that it is picturesque, romantic, built with love for the detail “Let it Snow!” is also quite outstanding for it’s simsurround that fits so perfectly that you hardly notice the boarders of the sim. Milly has added a moon and a curtains of snow around the sim and all the light sources are placed thoughtfully. More opportunites for taking pictures.

Impressions of Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland (6) – Snowy Retreat and more

I’m glad that I came across “Let it Snow!” and I assume, it will become a regular place for me to visit during the holiday season. Thank you very much Milly for creating this Winter Wonderland and for providing it to the public! I had a great time.

Simploring 2019 (128) .:Mt. Conners Station:.Winterland

For my simploring tour on Sunday, December 1st, I picked “.:Mt. Conners Station:.Winterland” from scoop.it SL Destinations.
.:Mt. Conners Station:.Winterland, furtheron also shorter just Winterland, is an adult homestead owned by Phil Conners (philconners) and OdetteBK and it is their private home.

.:Mt. Conners Station:.Winterland – overview

The landing point at Winterland is a bar waggon of an old train at Mt. Conners Station – although there’s no station. When you step out of the waggon you are in a Winter wonderland. Polar bears, deers and other animals liven up the white world.

Impressions of .:Mt. Conners Station:.Winterland (1) – around the landing point

Winterland is an island embedded in a fitting sim surround. It offers a lot of nice places to cuddle and watch. There’re games and places to dance. In the center is a large cage with a huge Christmas tree inside. On my simploring tour I saw a place for the Thanksgiving dinner, I came across an ice scating area, I saw a carousel and a frozen waterfall. The castle right next to the landing point is not really accessible and not furnished. The large and the small gazebo are particular romantic for dancing or for enjyoing togetherness.

Impressions of .:Mt. Conners Station:.Winterland (2) – the Christmas tree in the Cage / small ice Skating / Thanksgiving dinner / the carousel

Winterland is not overdone. It’s playful and peaceful and there’re some nice spots to simply enjoy or to have fun. The private residence of Phil and Odette is seperated from the public part of the sim by some hills and you don’t see it if you don’t zoom out. It goes without saying that you should respect the privacy.

Impressions of .:Mt. Conners Station:.Winterland (3) – ice Skating area, the small and the large gazebo / the frozen waterfall

For photographers the train with the steam engine is a great background but there’re more spots for taking pictures. If you seek a smaller, more private and not overcrowded place, Winterland is the place for you to visit. I enjoyed my visit to .:Mt. Conners Station:.Winterland. Thank you Phil Conners (philconners) and OdetteBK for sharing most of your sim with the public.

Simploring 2019 (127) Winter @ Dream Bay

When I published my simploring report about Dream Bay on November 22nd (read Simploring 2019 (117) Autumn @ Dream Bay), it was  just the day Aylia (aylaj) began with modifying the 2 Islands for the Winter season. I decided to revisit Dream Bay on Friday, November 29th. Dream Bay is moderate homestead owned by Morgan Firehawk (mmorganwhitfield). It is the home of the Care and Hope Center, the mainstore of a brand for shoes “Heels” and it is the private home of Morgan, she calls it Huckleberry Island.

Dream Bay Winter 2019 – overview

The sim was landscaped and design by Ayla (aylaj). Now it is a lovely Winter Installation and it was again a lot of fun to visit and enjoy!

Dream Bay in Winter 2019

The landing point is still right next to a zip line. I used the zip line to get the the smaller of the two islands. The Halloween decoration is gone and replaced with a lovely gazebo. At the shore I found a nice place to sit and enjoy – an open gondola from a ski lift.

The whole sim is now covered with snow, there’s a nice place for ice scating surrounded by decorated and illuminated trees between the two Islands now. Watch the funny penguin ice skating there. Close by is an outdoor café and restaurant.

Impressions of Dream Bay Winter 2019 (1) – The smaller island

At several points you find now the possibility for snow ball fights. And some seasonal decoration is added too of course. I also found more places to sit and cuddle and to enjoy the beautiful landscape and the peaceful atmosphere. The Aurora borealis offers great backgrounds for taking pictures. I enjoyed this part in particular.

Impressions of Dream Bay Winter 2019 (2) – The ice skating

Morgan is a supporter of an initiative against domestic violence. Since 2014, the Care and Hope Center is a not-for-profit information hub to educate and instill awareness on the horrors of domestic violence. Free and confidential class discussion groups are offered every other month. Please stop by the Center to see when our next class session will begin.  Safe, free, friendly and always open to the public. A lot of information including a hotline for getting advice and help can be obtained in the center.

Impressions of Dream Bay Winter 2019 (3)

Morgan is a professional model in Second Life and she is the owner of Heels, a small and humble shoe store. The mainstore of Heels is located at Dream Bay, right next to the Care and Hope Center. All proceeds go towards the maintenance and operation of the Care and Hope Center of SL. Everything Morgan does in Second Life, whether modeling and/or Heels, is for the sole purpose of bringing attention to the Care and Hope Center and Domestic Violence Awareness.

Dream Bay offers a lot for those who enjoy taking pictures or those who just want to escape from their RL for a while and enjoy the peace. It is designed professionally but with a lot of love for the detail as well.

Impressions of Dream Bay Winter 2019 (4) – The covered bridge and several places to sit and cuddle

Thank you Morgan for providing your sim to the public and for your engagement against domestic violence. It is an important matter and I truely appreciate your work! I hope that the Care and Hope Center gets the attention it deserves. And many thanks to Ayla (aylaj), you did once again a great job landscaping and designing Dream Bay and created a sim that fits to its name.
I did enjoy my 2nd visit again!

Simploring 2019 (126) Lairig Leacach

Today I came across “Lairig Leach” on scoop.it SL Destinations. Lairig Leach is the newest installation of Serene Footman, it is his quite unusal holiday gift to the residents of Second Life.

As always Serene has selected an unknown, remote and particular spot in Real Life and brought it to Second Life. Larig Leach is “a tiny bothy in a spectacular situation at the foot of Stob Ban in the Central Scottish Highlands. A bothy – also called a byre, or cowshed – is a refuge, a place to rest tired feet or sleep, sheltered from the wind, rain and snow.

Lairig Leacach

In Serene’s own blog you’ll find a detail description about this particular bothy (Lairig Leach) as well as about the Scottish Highlands and the Mountain Bothies Association. There’re also some pictures of Lairig Leach in RL as well as other links with more information.

Impressions of Lairig Leacach (1)

Around the bothy Lairig Leach are mountains, a river, animals, rocks, a frozen pond, trees, trails, snow and more snow. The windlight setting is selected to make us freeze. The landing point is a frozen pond and you have to walk a bit to reach Lairig Leach which is quite in the center of the sim. The bothy itself contains nothing more than a loft bed, broken shelves and two chairs. Nonetheless it is the only place that offers shelter from wind and snow. For someone who hiked a few hours through the loneliness of the Scottish Highlands in Winter, such a bothy can be the paradise, a life saving shelter. And this interpretation could make Serene’s Lairig Leacach a Christmas installation.

Impressions of Lairig Leacach (2)

Not surprisingly Lairig Leacach is outstanding in its simplicity – nature, snow and just a few places to sit. The sim background is perfectly fitting to the sim so that you can’t differentiate between the sim and the background. It is a pardise for photographers.

Impressions of Lairig Leacach (3)

Be aware that Lairig Leacach is a temporary installation and might be gone by the end of the year.
Thank you for your holiday gift, Serene. I enjoyed my visit, Happy Holidays!

Simploring 2019 (125) Nevgilde Gaard

When I looked for a place for my simploring tour on Wednesday, November 20th, at scoop.it SL Destinations I came across Nevgilde Gaard again with pictures showing a Winter landscape. I had visited Nevgilde Gaard in August (see Simploring 2019 (91) Nevgilde Gaard). Knowing that this post will be published in December – why not getting in the mood for Winter? Hence I revisited Nevgilde Gaard. There’s nothing to add to my simploring report from August. But in Winter this corner of Second Life looks very different. Neaira did a great job and added not just the snow but also an aurora borealis and a forest background for taking pictures. I took some really nice first Winter pictures. Thank you Neaira!

Impressions of Nevgilde Gaard in Winter (2)

Impressions of Nevgilde Gaard in Winter (3)

Here’s the simploring report from August once again 🙂

For my simploring tour on Friday, August 16th, I picked Nevgilde Gaard from scoop.it SL Destinations. Nevgilde Gaard is 1/8 of a full sim, rated moderted. It is owned by Neaira Allegiere (Neaira Aszkenaze). The landmark description implies that there has been another place before: “Nevgilde Gaard is the second chapter in The Nevgilde Story. And as it’s predecessor is inspired by Norwegian nature and heritage.

The name Nevgilde rang a ball. I visited Nevgilde Forest December 2018 (Simploring 2019 (3) Nevgilde Forest). According to my own notes, Nearia was co-owning Nevgilde Forest at the time of my visit. Anyway, I checked and found out that Nevgilde Forest is gone. Is Nevgilde Forest the above mentioned predecessor sim?

Back to Nevgilde Gaard. It is a comparably small place but packed with beautiful views and nice seperated from the surrounding plots, so that you don’t see them when your at Nevgilde Gaard. The landing is on the almost highest point of the plot on a plateau in the woods. Nevgilde Gaard is designed like a section of a shoreline of a Norwegian fjord. There’s just a lot of forest in the background, a rocky shoreline, one single residential house, a short beach, a beck … and that’s it.

Nevilde Gaard – overview and around the landing point

From the landing point I walked across the beck to the house. I had a lot of beautiful views. Nevgilde Gaard is designed with love for the detail and everythings looks quite well fitting together. I just had some minor problems with getting all textures loaded.

Impressions of Nevgilde Gaard (1)

I visited the house and also had a look inside. It didn’t surprise me at all that it is nicely furnished. From the wooden terrace of the house you have a lovely view over the ocean (or fjord). A bit below of the house is a small beach with some more possibilities to sit and watch. Just opposed to the beach is a small island with a place to camp and a nice view over the shoreline.

Impressions of Nevgilde Gaard (2) – the residential house

Nevgilde Gaard is a showcase for Neaira’s passion: landscape and design. She’s specialized in Nothern European nature and style.
In a skybox above Nevgilde Gaard is Neaira’s shop “NS Thrift Shop & Poses“, that offers decor, furniture, jewelry and couple’s poses.

Impressions of Nevgilde Gaard (3) at the beach, view from the small Island on Nevgilde Gaard and NS Thrift shop

Nevgilde Gaard is a very beautiful corner of Second Life. I like the atmosphere of peace and nature of it and I had kind of a little time-out while I explored and enjoyed. Thank you Neaira Allegiere (Neaira Aszkenaze) for sharing Nevgilde Gaard with the public!

Simploring 2019 (124) Donkeys by Cica Ghost

Yesterday I got an invitation from Cica to visit her newest installation “Donkeys by Cica Ghost“, that opnend December 12th. I went there today.

Cica’s invitation (Upper left) / Diomita riding a donkey (lower left) / Diomita taking a break watching the seagulls (upper right) / Bird eye view on Donkeys by Cica Ghost (lower right)

Cica’s Donkeys are presented once again by Sim Quarterly, a sim and initiative of Electric Monday:
Art and the virtual world, Second Life© are very similar — you are able to both find yourself and immerse yourself (and maybe even lose yourself) in something totally unlike what you already know. The experiences you gain help you grow and form new opinions about the world. That is what I hope this sim can provide over time. I am very excited to bring to you a quarterly art project by way of The Sim Quarterly.
The project features one creator every 3 months (every quarter) as an artist in residence. The purpose of the sim is so that residents can experience something new and even create a community.
Learn more about Sim Quarterly at their website.

Impressions of “Donkeys by Cica Ghost” (1)

As I expected already I had a lot of fun visiting Cica’s donkeys. They look “Cica-ish”, are of course very tall, and are happy. Their i-a, i-a, ia can be heard all over the place. Many “Cica-ish” houses are all around the island, which is quite full of flowers and trees, mainly coconut trees. That is a little bit unusual for Cica but fits very well.

Impressions of “Donkeys by Cica Ghost” (2) snails and cats

Quite close to the landing you find a house with a donkey store inside. And yes, you can buy these happy animals – 10 different donkeys. But there are more animals at Donkeys by Cica Ghost. I saw many seagulls, I saw butterflies, snails and… yes, cats!

Impressions of “Donkeys by Cica Ghost” (3) – lower right shows the donkey store

There is no deeper sense – at least not for me. Donkeys by Cica Ghost is just for having fun, for being childish and enjoy. There’re comparably many opportunities to sit, for example in the houses, and to watch the animals. I recommend to hoover with your muse over the objects … at one gateway you can stand and dance. Cica also place a litte tv in one house “Don’t touch” – and of course it means “touch!”, funny! You can also sit in a boat and watch the scenery from there.

Impressions of “Donkeys by Cica Ghost” (4)

In short: Donkeys by Cica Ghost are fun – a different fun these days before Christmas. I enjoyed my visit and it comnjured a smile in my face!
Thank you Cica for another great installation and thank you Electric Monday for your initiave and for hosting “Donkeys by Cica Ghost“.

Simploring 2019 (123) La Maison d’Aneli Holiday season 2019/2020

On Wednesday, December 11th, La Maison d’Aneli opened a new exhibtion that will be stay until January 11th. It features a joined installation, a witful and selfcritical journey by Yoon, Iono Allen, Theda Tammas and JadeYu Fhang about our Ego within Second Life “Lalawood – This could be Paradise”, a 3D installation by Tomm Pye, an exhibition of more classic sculptures and art by Willem Koba in the seperate room “La Serre” and paintings and pictures by Milly Sharpel, Tigerfish Rain, Bamboo Barnes and Vroum Short, who owns VeGaTal PLaNeT, the sim hosting La Maison d’Aneli.

I visited the joined exhibtion the day before it was opened and started my tour at the seperate exhibition room “La Serre” with the work from Willem Koba.
Willem sees himself not as an artist in real life nor in Second Life. He rather says he has a passion for art in both worlds and creates some stuff. At “La Serre” you can see reproductions of the art from famous artists like Salvador Dali, Antoni Gaubi, Jeff Koons, M. C. Escher and others along with pieces Willem created himself. I was intrigued in particular by being able to experience the famous stairs from M. C. Escher in 3D. I also smiled seeing the elefants with the long legs from Salvador Dali, which I just recently saw at Hotel California (see Simploring 2019 (116) Hotel California – Off the Grid). For some of the famous artists you can grab notecards with their biography and a short description of their work. Willem is quite modest as beside the art from famous artists some of his work is very creative and artful like the Notre Dame model.

La Maison d’Aneli Holiday season 2019/2020 – Willem Koba at “La Serre”

Vroum Short is a French SL artist since 2007. As mentioned above she created VeGeTaL PLaNet, the location of La Maison d’Aneli. VeGeTaL PLaNet is “a world where everything becomes possible and achievable where the barriers of reality fade away to let the imagination flood it with life. In her underwater exhibitions, living plant sculptures and luminous paintings, animated in 3D, mingle“.
Vroum Short’s art, currently exhibited at La Maison d’Aneli shows moving colourful abstract objects in 2D and 3D with particular light effects. It is great, just to watch how her art changes permanently and provides different views.

La Maison d’Aneli Holiday season 2019/2020 – Vroum Short

Milly Sharple is an artist and photographer from the UK in real life and has always enjoyed art and artistic expression. She’s in Second Life since 2008 and was perhaps one of the pioneers in introducing fractal art to Second Life. Milly established her own gallery “Fractal Insanity – The Art of Milly Sharple“.
Milly Sharple has also a passion for region design and building in Second Life and creates a yearly Winter sim called “Let it Snow!” (Let it Snow! A Winter Wonderland 2019). I lack time! Another place I have to visit *winks*
At La Maison d’Aneli we see portraits that are embedded in fractals, are mirrored and blurred and develop a particular facination.

La Maison d’Aneli Holiday season 2019/2020 – Milly Sharple

Tigerfish Rain is a graphic artist & creator, he’s also a Catwa Head Developer and in Second Life since 2010: “When I look at the universe, I see that each of us is a piece of art, and when these pieces come together, they form a whole …. one day, mankind will go beyond the stars and it will be with the help of science and art
Tigerfish’s corner at La Maison d’Aneli shows a mix between sience fiction, pictures from the space, portraits and fractals. It is snowing so that his art almost is a bit cold due to the environment.

La Maison d’Aneli Holiday season 2019/2020 – Tigerfish Rain

A centerpiece of La Maison d’Aneli Holiday season 2019/2020 is “Lalawood” created by the Lalala’s. The Lalala’s are 4 artists:
Theda Tammas – Simply the Queen of Lalawood!
Yoon (onyxxe) – The eloquent yet arrogant architect of Lalawood
Iono Allen – The great Dalai Lala with cinematic visions about Lalawood
JadeYu Fhang – Warrior
“Lalawood” is a little journey starting at the beginings of Second Life, the paradise, and explaining how the drama, the selfishness and the egomania from real life spread in Second Life and how people can and should fight sanctimonious preening. The critic doesn’t exclude artists. To maintain or regain the paradise you have to overcome your Ego, that’s the message. It is all accompanied with artful pictures and scupltures and you get some nice goodies to attach to your avatar. The involved artists, the “Lalala’s”, are quite renowned in Second Life but I won’t write about them here – I don’t want to foster their ego *winks*.

La Maison d’Aneli Holiday season 2019/2020 – “Lalawood” by Theda Tammas, Yoon (onyxxe), Iono Allen and JadeYu Fhang

Bamboo Barnes is in Second Life since 2007, painting software & photoshop are her best friends. Bamboo had many exhibtions and appearances in the Second Life art scene and in 2018 she had her first exhibition in real life: “I create what I see but maybe you won’t, they are about people’s reality and  mind.” Bamboo’s art is a mixture of abstract forms, of people and photographs. Most pictures are colourful and it is in the eye of the beholder what we see in her pictures. Some of them are intriguing for me.

Tomm Pye is Dutch and in Second Life since 2017. He paints and designs in 3D. Tomm created a 3D installation in his corner of of the exhibtion at La Maison d’Aneli. It is a white room filled with red particles, blood plates. There’s some statues at the walls, in the center are several heads and a pumping heart, you can see something like the small bowel at on wall, you see a the bones of a thorax. Acutally I guess you find everything of the human body somewhere in Tomm’s installation. It is like walking through body. You have to see it yourself.

La Maison d’Aneli is owned by Aneli Abeyante. Through her gallery she brings together all forms of creativity in RL and SL and the featured artists come from around the globe. Aneli’s intention is to “put her gallery in the service of artists, so that the world can be better, exchanges and meetings probably contribute even though it seems to be particles.
Thank you Aneli for this exhibition and thank you to all artists.
The current exhibition should be open during the Holiday season 2019/2020 until January. 11th. Enjoy your visit, if you go there yourself.
