Simploring 2020 (75) Dagger Bay Autumn 2020

I was looking for a sim with the beuatiful colours of Autumn. I scrolled through scoop.it SL Destinations but didn’t find a new place that really caught my interest. Then I remembered Dagger Bay and The Beguinage of Bruges. I had visited this great place back in 2018 (read here) the first time and I was there again in 2019 on a little Autumn tour (read here)

The landmark description is unchanged: “We invite you to visit the beautiful Village of the Beguinage of Bruges and surrounding countryside. Please enjoy a walk on the forest path or relax in the coffee house along the canal with a snack or something to drink.”

The place itself is decorated for the season. There might be some changes but it looks pretty much like 2 years ago. And I did enjoy it again. I used the preset windlight this time for most of my pictures and I simply enjoyed the colours of Autumn.

Kitty Maurer aka. Santana Thibedeau collared 11 years!

We missed celebrating Kitty’s 12th rezzday anniversary on November 1st. 12 years in Second Life is quite a while and we’re not much shorter in this virtual world. The biggest challenge is to keep your Second Life varied so that it doesn’t become boring and to keep your network of family and friends in Second Life at the same time.

Our Kitty Maurer aka Santana Thibedeau is the oldest family member of the Eurobrats. Mistress Jenny and I collared her on November 22nd, 2008 – 11(!) years ago. And Kitty is still our’s! Keeping any relation over such a long time and in particular over a big difference in timezones is even more outstanding. We feel blessed to know and own our Kitty and to have her (him) as our friend.

We don’t see much of Kitty due to the timezone issue. Mistress Jenny meets her sometimes, when she’s able to go inworld in the early morning after work and I see her sometimes on the weekends. But Kitty is quite independent as cats usually are *winks*. She’s always up to find some trouble for herself or to cause trouble for others. Just recently she brought herself and Mistress into trouble at Mistress Oblivion’s facility (see also Diary 2019 (165) October 21st – The Facility). And like every cat Kitty is very curios and doesn’t hesitate to try out new stuff. She showed me a restrictive mask at “The Red Room” for example. She tried out being a sissy when we met our former slave Dana together. Soon later I had a giant sissy Kitty on my leash visiting “Gans”. One Sunday morning in October I took Kitty on an Autumn tour through Second Life .. there’s always something to explore or discover or try out for our Kitty!

Diomita meeting Kitty at “D-Zone” (May 1st, 2019) / Diomita and Kitty at “Gwen’s storage” (July 10th, 2019) / Diomita with slave Gwendi and Kitty at home (September 1st, 2019) / Diomita and Kitty at “The Red Room” (September 13th, 2019) / Diomita with sissy Kitty at “Gans” (September 29th, 2019) / Diomita and Kitty at Psi’s realm (October 6th, 2019) / Diomita with Kitty at “The Beguinage of Bruges” (October 3rd, 2019)

I recommend to keep an eye on your cuffs and keys when you visit Lock Without Asking and even more when you visit Psi’s realm and Kitty is around somewhere.

We’re very proud to know you, to have you as our friend and last but not least to own you.

Happy belated 12th rezzday, Kitty!
Happy 11th collaring anniversary, Kitty!

Diary 2019 (154) October 3rd – A tour with Kitty to Autumn in SL

Thursday, October 3rd, I had some time for simploring in the morning as we had a national holiday in Germany. Kitty was inworld and we chatted in IM. I hadn’t yet decided where to go. Spontaneously I took Kitty with me on an Autumn tour to places that I had seen before. We started at “The Beguinage of Bruges“, a place that I had visited in November 2018 the first time (read Simploring 2018 (100) The Beguinage of Bruges). The place has not changed much and I enjoyed seeing it again. Kitty and I talked about Bruges and Kitty told me about her visit to Bruges in RL. We enjoyed the colours of Autumn and walked around a bit.

Then we went on to Authors Point, that I had visited in Spring 2019 (read Simploring 2019 (36) Authors Point). Just recently I saw some posts about Authors Point again showing it in Autumn and I had seen it only in Spring so far. What changed with the season is the Fantasy plateau, where the leaves of the many trees glow in Autumn colours. Just lovely! Kitty found a new friend there, a unicorn that followed her as long as we were on the plateau. We had fun!

Finally I took Kitty to Fleur Nederland [Dutch] (read Simploring 2019 (102) Fleur Nederland [Dutch]), a place I had visited just a few days before.

I gave a quick tour to Kitty, we had a drink at the dinner hut and we visited the town & harbour. To my surprise, there was a change since my visit -we came across an haunted house, an addition for Halloween. We didn’t go in there though as my time was up and I had to return to RL.
And that’s it about my Kitty-Autumn-morning.

Many thanks to Jaysun Dagger (The Beguinage of Bruges), to Weed Bombastic (Authors Point), and to Sammy Recreant (Fleur Nederland [Dutch]) for creating and sharing your lovely (Autumn) places.

Dio’s 11th year in Second Life Feb 11th, 2019 – Part II

Yesterday, I had my my 11th anniversary of joining Second Life.
It has become a tradition for me to write a longer blog post on the occasion of my rezzdays, to have a look back on the last year and to realize the changes in my Second Life as well as the things that didn’t change. Yesterday, I published Part I of my anniversary entry and talked about my closer family and the changes in my family. Today’s part 2 is about my simploring tours and other highlights of my 11th year.

Let me start with my simploring tours, and there were many! I admire the creativity of artists in this virtual world, I visited galleries like DaphneArts, La Masion D’Aneli, Diotima, Niflheimer Art Gallery, the Alphalune Creations gallery of Berry Richez, the VOIR gallery and lately the gallery of Gem Preiz. I explored 8 installations and 2 exhibtions of Cica Ghost, who always conjures a smile in my face. I attended several light shows of Mario2 Helstein.
I also saw and reported about quite some installations that were supported by the Linden Endowment for the Arts (LEA) like Gem Preiz’ Demiurge, The Labyrinth Experience or Light thoughts 4 and many more. In the meanwhile I know a little bit of the art scene in Second Life and I am looking forward with curiosity to my 11th year in SL and the art I’ll see.

I found many cosy and lovely sims where people buildt their own dreamworld, peaceful and picturesque. You don’t need many prims or a large place for it, Sweet Paradise of the Darks and Cake are examples for that. Most of these dreamworlds were homesteads: Maison de L’amitié, Wild Edge, Season of Joy, Hinansho, Glenrosa, Winter Moon, Adele, Baileys Norge, The Silent Mind, Chochou … just to name a few. In these sims I spent relaxing hours and enjoyed the views and the peace.
Some were really particular. I want to mention the Zany Zen Railway, a tiny, almost cute railroad crossing several sims. Zimminyville did impress me too with it’s two so different parts, the lovely picturesque town and the moon colony. And just rescently I visited The VR Planetarium Dome, not only an instructive place, but offering great views and also lot’s of fun.

Then there were the sims that have a real background, where a place in the physical world was build in Second Life. This way I got a picture, an idea of the real places and my visit gave reason to do a little bit of research. The Beguinage of Bruges (in Belgium) was one of these impressing places and I spent some time learning about this place in the real world.
I never heard about the Isle of May, Achill Island, Black Bayou Lake or Rummu – now I have the feeling that I’ve been there already, not only because I read about these places and saw pictures but I got a 3-dimensional impression in Second Life.
Outstanding was also the visit of the Chateau of Clagny, a place which doesn’t exsist anymore. In Second Life it came back to existence.

I also discovered many places related to my kinky side, to BDSM. That’s another dream you can live in Second Life and I do. Unfortunately some of these places don’t stay long like the Knot Society, Club Fem, Silent Manor or Mastering the Zen.
I discovered Meadow Rose, a perfect combination of a dreamworld, cosy and picturesque but also with it’s kinky corners. I was also impressed by The Citadel, a combination of art and kink. We visited the Tentacles, a park which was created by our friend Starbright Wingtips. We also visited the Steampunk prison of her.

Thank you all for building, for creating and for sharing your dreams with the rest of the community. And please apologize if I did not mention all of my tours, it were simply too many. I did really enjoy all of my simploring tours!

What else happened in this 11th year?
Again way more than I expected before reading back my own blog. And way more than I can summarize in this blog entry. We had several 10th anniversaries: Kitty’s 10th collaring, Jenny’s 10th rezzday, Jenny’s 10th collaring, Mistress Jenny’s and my 10th wedding anniversary. We also had 2 weddings at our sim, held in the chapel that was once errected by Danii Szydlowska.
Angelique performed at the Little Princess Ballet Academy Show in February 2018. She also spent a lot of time “working” as a maid at the Hilltop Manor located in The Apostasy. Angelique spent a short time serving at Sainte Agathe Castle. And together with slave Flo Angelique “worked” at the Paradise Finishing School.

LPBA Dancing through Time – Angelique Maurer (pictures by Starry)

slave Flo and AnneWanne were our twin drones and provided a lot of fun for us, mixing them up as Flo drone and Drone Flo. Later we had quite some time where our slaves were Rubber Rocket Dolls. Trying to tempt people touching the rocket boobs and getting Rubber Rocket Dolls themselves when the rockets hit them, was fun.
Our slave kelly was rented out for more than 2 weeks to Antony (antonygift) and made some new and exciting experiences away from her owners.

Mistress Jenny became more and more the (not secret) decider in the background as my submission to her got deeper and deeper. My red lights, when she takes full control were very intense, in particular as my submissive feelings got stronger each time. This way my green lights were highlights for me in this 11th year and I look forward to those Mistress will grant to me in my 12th year. Mistress Jenny now got a mesh head too, it was my present to her for her 10th rezzday in March 2018. She’s just adorable in every way!

Mistress Jenny Maurer with her new mesh head in March 2018 (left) and November 2018 (right)

We also still enjoy bondage in all forms. We tried out new racks and new toys like the serious plug pear or the serious nipple rings. The slaves, in particular slave kelly, made some incisive experiences with the pear.

May 7th: slave kelly leashed by the serious plug at Lochme

I continued creating one “Enjoying Bondage” picture per month, that always also highlighted the activities of the according month.
Last but not least we had our great Friday night parties every Friday. We think that it might be the longest regular weekly party in whole Second Life with a duration of more than 11 years. Virgo is still our dj every week and we enjoy starting our weekends dancing and chatting amoung friends. Thank you, Virgo!

Enjoying Bondage December 2018 – varied fun: Mistress Jenny, Ehesklavin Diomita, slave Flo, Jenny sitting on slave slut cecy, “piggy” slave kelly, Jenny suspended in a hogtie (above slave kelly), Diomita sitting on slave kelly, Jenny suspended upside down, slave Gwen and Angelique (from left to right)

October 27th at the Friday Night Halloween Party: Virgo Babii, Angelique Maurer, Florence Riddler, Baroness Capelo

Mistress Jenny and I as well as the core members of our little family are embedded in a great community of friends, we know some of them way over a decade now, some for several years and some are new friends of ours. Even if not mentioned by name in this anniversary blog post, these friends do mean a lot to me. SL is first of all about people and it’s you all who make my and our SL what it is: Still going strong, still enjoyable and still exciting! It was a great 11th year in Second Life and I look forward to the 12th!
Love from Diomita

Simploring 2018 (100) The Beguinage of Bruges

For my simploring tour on Saturday, November 17th, I selected Dagger Bay from scoop.it SL Destinations. Inara Pey has written a nice and detail post about Dagger Bay that inspired me even more to visit Dagger Bay (Exploring Dagger Bay in Second Life).

Dagger Bay and the adjacent homestead (South Haven Bay and Haven Bay Hunting Estate) are owned by Jaysun Dagger. According to Inara Pey the sim has been designed as something of a team effort. The landmark description is literally inviting: “We invite you to visit the beautiful Village of the Beguinage of Bruges and surrounding countryside. Please enjoy a walk on the forest path or relax in the coffee house along the canal with a snack or something to drink.

Dagger Bay – overview

In the center of the sim is the Beguinage of Bruges. I looked it up on wikipedia and found following information:

A beguinage, from the French term béguinage, is an architectural complex which was created to house beguines: lay religious women who lived in community without taking vows or retiring from the world.

In the first decades of the thirteenth century much larger and more stable types of community emerged in the region of the Low Countries: large court beguinages were formed which consisted of several houses for beguines built around a central chapel or church where their religious activities took place, and often included also functional buildings such as a brewery, a bakery, a hospital, and farm buildings.

The landing point is just at the entrance to the Beguinage. From there I first explored the complex. It is built with an extraordinairy love for details and when you compare pictures of the Beguinage of Bruges in the physical world with those taken at Dagger Bay in Second Life the similarity is intriguing. Well done!

The Beguinage of Bruges – UNESCO World Heritage site

I walked through the Beguinage and also looked inside, where you can discover a lot more. The cafe next to the museum is a noce place to sit. In one building you find pictures of the Beguinage of Bruges in real life. The chapel is fully furnitured and decorated inside. The court is just beautiful. And then the beautiful colours of autumn. I was overwhelmed and of course I took a lof of pictures.

Impressions of the Beguinage of Bruges in Second Life at Dagger Bay (3)

But there’s more to discover at Dagger Bay. The Beguinage of Bruges is surrounded by several small and larger islands which are all connected by bridges. The islands and the vegetaion are beautiful. I enjoyed walking through the forests and couldn’t get enough of the colours. There’re several residential houses. All of them are extraordinairy designer homes, places at least I dream to live in. They are furnished as well but I didn’t look inside except of one, which I called the palace as it looks like a palace from the in- and outside.

Impressions of Dagger Bay – residential homes

Of course I also visited the gazebo, which is situated a bit aside and offers a lovely view into the nature.

Impressions of Dagger Bay – the “Palace” and the gazebo

To sum it up, Dagger Bay offers a visit to the Beguinage of Bruges, a real tourist landmark in RL and in SL, along with a beautiful designed nature sim, that gleams in the colours of autumn.
Thank you Jaysun Dagger for providing this gem to the public! I enjoyed my visit a lot.
